  2. Took a run over to Darren's place today. Wow! Some of our hospitals are not as well equipped! And that 2 post lift!! Hmmm Im well jealous  However the most interesting aspect of the visit was a chance to see the SBC in situ. Now I know Darren has posted up lots of pics, BUT they only tell half the story. The SBC sits right in that engine bay looking like Nissan themselves put it there. Quality install all the way   Oh yes .... NEARLY forgot the YELLOW Paint! Well its deffo YELLOW I tell thee. Just borrowed Dazza's Koyo for a few hours too... bit of a secret experiment in progress!! When this beast hits the streets.... Be afraid all you would be quick men...be very afraid
  3. 100% Agree. General discussion along with "help and advice" are two of the main areas where new browsers(who hopefully will subscribe later) are going to look. The Forum is the public face of this club. First impressions do count. Lets try and make it a good impression.

  9. I think you may be right there mate. Prime export to Africa material. Roofs are cut off to get more in the container ,then welded on over there again(so the rumour goes) And those who took it would have no idea of the significance of the SSS designation. Now wheres that old 1974 Tour of Britain vid. David Benson in one IIRC. Daily Express Journo at the Time!

  16. Obviously they were all LHD. Not many made either and well respected by Uncle Sam's men.
  17. Thats no problem Richard..... We hate you tooooooooooooooo!!
  18. Well in my opinion a 255 would be better on a 9" wheel. I have a pair of 9" AVS wheels here with 255s on them and they like my Azevs look "right". Yokohama list preferred and permitted rim widths for all their tyres. EG 255/40-17 preffered 9" permitted 9 to 9.5. 235/45-17 preferred 8" permitted 7.5 - 9." This info I have quoted is for Track day Ao32 and AO48 tyres. It probably varies for different types of tyre a little. Best to consult the "technical dept of whatever tyre Make you are going to buy and get the official version. Dont listen to a "salesman" Having a less than optimum combination may not be a fatal mistake but it may compromise your handling/grip. My interest in this stems from maximising the contact patch for use on the drag strip where traction is critical. Road use by many on here may not be that critical as other considerations like cost etc come in to play. All of course IMHO.
  19. A 245 wide tyre will fit nicely. May not be the maximum size, but I have them fitted on my 8.5 fronts. thats a 245/40-18 sitting on a 8.5" x18" wheel.
  20. Sardine?? No, Im wrong there obviously..... there's no tin in the picture. Silly me eh??? :D
  21. I think its a dog not a donkey. Its black and boxy and ugly as fook Its obviously been ragged to death round the car parks of Tokyo by some crazy boy racer. I bet the auction house closed early to celebrate, when they discovered some mad Englishman had actually bought it! All of course IMHO :D
  22. Which is 269 miles from Morecambe. 253 miles from Cardiff and 270 miles from Taunton(or wherever Legrath lives in Somerset) SO... a 500+mile round trip for all of you??????
  23. Doesnt really matter what the rest of us do or prefer mate. Its about what you want to do! And important considerations are COST and distance from whatever venue you want to attend. The previous posters have already outlined some proper costings. The two forms of motorsport are completely different. EG Track days are untimed and offer no back to back comparisons. Costs depend on what track and how long you are allowed to play. I use the word play because thats what it is. Its big boys playtime and many members hugely enjoy it.I might have a go next year Drag racing is much cheaper to take part in. But time "on the track" is limited to say the least. At The Oct Jap Show my total track time for the day was LESS than 45secs. And even on a run what you brung day where people like Chunk , Shrimpy and me might get 7/8 runs in that is still less than 2 minutes of driving. The up side of this is of course that is a very precise and intense form of motorsport where times are measured in HUNDREDTHS of a sec and are recorded for all to see. :D
  24. The Z31 is not a TT mate its only a single turbo car.
