Summat wrong ere!! Mr plumber's gone sensible!! But wot a good choice . Now just get the f00kin car painted in a nice subtle metallic black to complete the picture. Say BMW "Diamante Schwartz" or VW metallic black... the one with the small multicolour metallic in it.
  9. It happens!!! :D Anyway just log on to Z club. Ill welcome you over there too!!!!!
  10. Following on from Zevo guys informative post , there is another factor to take into account. Grip from any tyre is partly due to the hardness/softness of the compound used in construction. This is stamped on tyres as the "tread wear factor". I dont know how they arrive at the number, but basically the higher the number the harder the compound so less wear but probably less grip too(all other things being equal) My interest in this of course stems from racing at da Pod, where power is nothing without traction. Let me give you some numbers to show you..... My Kumho V70 Trackday tyres are rated at 50. I have some Kumho 712s on my Azevs for normal road use rated at 250(IIRC) And my mate Skiddell, from Zclub.net has some Kumho K15s which are somewhere in the middle with a figure of 125. HTH
  11. Its just that none of us own Z31 300ZXs Much better to pop over to Zclub.net as Legrath suggests. Some of us on here are also ZClub members, AND there is a forum section ESPECIALLY for Z31s!
  12. Just to clarify what is happening this weekend at da Pod. Sat5th is fireworks, demos and invitational racing. NO RWYB Sun6th is a normal RWYB day. I have just checked this with Santa Pod management today. HTH
  13. There is NO RWYB on the Sat(5th) only on SUN 6th
  14. Compomotive or Image both in the UK do custom wheels.
  15. Pair of Nissan bushes (from MJP Eastern Auto-see traders section) will do the job. I got an Ebay short shifter and I like it. Greg fitted one but took it out again cos he didnt like it.( But there again he is a little weedy bloke!!!)  :x: Point to remember is "shorter throw=more effort. Basic physics really. You are more than welcome to try mine(with the car STATIONARY!!) :D
  16. Not my cuppa either Greg, BUT you have to admire Rag Top Robs Stunning example with its 19 wheels even if you dont really want to own it. The convertible is MAYBE the one Zed that will hold its value due to rarity. Only around 1500 made IIRC
  17. Im sorry to upset you buddy , dont cry too much, we are all owners of fast depreciating assets! From the evidence I have seen there is no danger at all of the import trade dying down. The evidence of the UK oversupply is out there to see too.Huge Car Sales supersites with over 1000 cars in one place, and less obvious are the huge yards owned by the major auction companies that are permanently filled with cars awaiting auction. And the fields and fields of new cars parked all over Britain. But it is the import trade that is the real downer of Jap car prices and when you realise how the system operates over there you will realise it aint going away....... Cars in Japan are subject to tests in a similar way to our MOT test. However there are differences, and this is the start of the export trade. The Shaken(MOT) test gets more rigorous and more expensive as Jap registered cars get older. So it costs you more and is more hassle to hold on to an older car in Japan. So people are steered to replacing their cars frequently with NEW Jap cars. GREAT for the Jap car industry, But catch 22 appears... who (in Japan) wants to buy your old car??? Well nobody because of the aforementioned costly Shaken test!! So how do the Japs get round the problem ontheir overcrowded little Islands??? EASY.... Build several HUGE auction sites and auction them off in their THOUSANDS daily to anyone who wants a RHD car! Well the rest is self explanatory. Enterprising companies buy them by the boat load and ship them here. Costs when you are doing it by the hundred are around £1000 or less I believe(dont have actual figures) and if you want to put something else inside one (say an extra engine in the backof a people carrier) it still costs the same to ship it. There will just be a little extra duty on the "declared value" of the engine. Just a little UP SIDE to finish!!! There might be a few of them late "Version R and VersionS models " headin our way in the next few years.Hmmm! Tasty And MAYBE one or two with FULL VEILSIDE kit fitted!!! for £4000?????
  18. Just in time for the NEXT Midlands meet then!! ;) And wecome to the real club. The subscription bit keeps MOST of the idiots out!!! :D
  19. Its a lovely thought Richard, but unfortunately it wont become a reality.Mgh297 is spot on with his comment. And it applies to all articles for sale. Price is always determined by what the purchaser will pay.. Remember too that there are still several thousand more in Japan that will make their way here by the boat load.So rarity will not occur in the forseeable future and prices will continue to be low or even lower in the future. Britain is now approaching car saturation point all across the board. Its a buyers market now and looks set to continue that way.
  20. Lets hope so. Nobody has yet made one here in good ole Britain We seem to lag behind our neighbours "across the pond" n making quick 1/4 mile cars.
  21. Fook me Si you catch on real quick!
  22. FFS stop messin about wi it! Im comin over this weekend expecting to have a run it it!! :D :D :D
  23. Time was verified by Mike Feeney as part of the ZClub Drag challenge round 6. Full details in next Z Club Mag.
  24. Gavin has posted the fastest time recorded for a quarter mile run in a 300ZX. 11.5 secs.At Santa Pod in Aug this year Next up is Jaffa at 12.6 secs. Unless anyone else has a "pink slip" to show differently. ALL time fatest Zed ever was of course Mike Feeney in his BBC engined 280ZX(now campaigned by Mark Watkins.)Used to run in the 8 sec bracket IIRC
  25. I have a bucket seat mounted on an "adapted " 300ZX subframe. Also racing harness . Rear is bolted to the double thickness plate area near the top of the rear turrett. All a diy job. But safe and strong(I hope!!!)
