Recommend me a dipped beam HID kit.......
There's no 'contact seller' option. I've replied to the automatically generated email they sent me when I bought it/them with my requirements so we'll see what happens. They're specified as H3s anyway, so that should be reet.

Recommend me a dipped beam HID kit.......
OK, just bought a set of these. I'm a bit concerned as there wasn't an option to ask for 55w/6000k. Is that adjustable or is it going to be pot luck what I get?

Recommend me a dipped beam HID kit.......
So, are they easy to fit or do they need wiring skillorz?

Recommend me a dipped beam HID kit.......
There's a thread running on Pistonheads about them. Apparently they're technically illegal on cars not factory fitted with them as they're supposed to have a self levelling system. Conversely from what I can gather it's not so much of a hanging offence to fit them to projector units. Go figure! All I know is that the standard lights are bordering on useless! I'd much rather see where I'm going thank you!

Spannering in Scotland.
I agree!! I have the spannering capabilities, the tools and the facilities but as I work away during the week and am only at home two days, anything more than changing a bulb may result in having my danglies as jewellery!!

Recommend me a dipped beam HID kit.......
.....please. One of my dipped beam bulbs self destructed. It took me ages to get most of the shrads of glass out of the projector unit without removing the unit itself then went to my local motor factors for a replacement set. Didn't realise they weren't an 'off the shelf' thing, (DUH!), so figure I might as well bite the bullet and go HID. Sadly Zedworld are currently out of stock and could use them ASAP because the car's going to be used quite a lot in the dark from now on with almost immediate effect. (Nights drawing in/up at 4am to go to work/back after 9pm/etc) So what's good and an easy fit etc? Not too worried about price, but I want a decent set and don't trust myself to choose on eBay without a bit of help. As always, TIA!! ;)

Spannering in Scotland.
I've taken my car home to Fife and since had my tame local back street garage check it over and MOT it and all was well. (Came as a surprise to me I can tell you!!!) Anyway, in passing, he did say that he wouldn't be keen to do anything major on it. While I appreciate his honesty, it leaves me with a bit of a quandry as to what to do if/when the turbos do sing their swan song. So do any of you know of/can recommend anyone to maintain my P&J in central Scotland? TIA!

Lost boost. 500 mile trip Friday need fixed. Help!
Well it passed it's MOT today needing nothing and the only advisory being on the number plate being the wrong shape/size. :taz: The turbo's still spinning so I'll not worry about it for a wee bit.

Lost boost. 500 mile trip Friday need fixed. Help!
Thanks for the thoughts and opinions guys. I think, certainly as I'll be using the car less from now on, I'm inclined to play it by ear and see how it goes. I haven't tried the car properly today, but will hopefully get the chance tomorrow and see what it's like. Jeff, I'm not aware of there being anything other than a bog standard air filter there unless you know different from Friday. Tell you what though, I swear it went better than it had before. It actually scared the cr4p out of me when it came back 'on line' and continued to do so until I returned home from the short trip. I think I'll keep an eye on it and look at upgrading in a wee while as I think the rest of the engine's fairly sound. Thanks again.

Lost boost. 500 mile trip Friday need fixed. Help!
So what'dya reckon Jeff? Am I as well leaving it be? I guess I'll need new ones at some point, but if I leave them then maybe I could save up and get better ones when they finally throw inthe towel eh? That said, I haven't tried it today, it might have decided to stop working again! :-/

Lost boost. 500 mile trip Friday need fixed. Help!
But surely a faulty actuator wouldn't cause loss of boost?!?!?!?!? If anything, I would have imagined it would cause over boosting. Unless I guess if it was jammed open. Opinions?

Lost boost. 500 mile trip Friday need fixed. Help!
Thanks chap! Gonna try and drop in on Jeff and Jamie on my way up the road on Friday. I'm happier for them to take a look at it. Jamie reckons the actuators don't tend to fail. :rubschin:

Lost boost. 500 mile trip Friday need fixed. Help!
OK, the car's been away at the mender's............ So he reckons that the problem is with the actuator on the nearside turbo. Apparently it's not 'actuating'. The offside one is fine and he's checked all the vacuum hoses and they don't appear to be leaking. Are both actuators plumbed into the same line or are they served from different sources? He also reckons the turbine itself is fine as he removed it a couple of weeks ago to fix a coolant leak and checked the bearings at the time. So, is the actuator a replaceable part or do I need a new tub'? Given that the turbine is most likely turning freely, would it be alright to drive the car home like that?

Fixed one problem now got another.
Seems to be the way of the Zed. :( When I bought mine I had designs on fixing all the cosmetic bits and bringing it up to a decent condition, but I just seem to be firefighting the things that seem to break on a regular basis.

Lost boost. 500 mile trip Friday need fixed. Help!
OK guys, thanks for the input. I'd hoped that'd be the problem, but having searched the forum, (ok, I know I should've done that in the first place!! ), I found a thread by someone who'd experienced the same symptoms and it was a siezed turbocharger. I'm having it looked at the morrow, but if it is a siezed turbo, am I going to do it any damage driving 500 miles home on Friday? I might just drop it of at yours Jeff, I'll almost be passing your door!! ;) Just a thought then, if I do need new 'tubs', would it be in my best interest to look at upgrading? What would be the costs involved? Thanks again guys!!

Lost boost. 500 mile trip Friday need fixed. Help!
Following a lorry this evening and went to pass it on a big of DC. Put foot down and nothing, (well it sort of accelerated, but you get the picture.). Boost guage only goes up to '0' so I'm assuming that's just WOT and normal pressure. It was fine right up until I went for the overtake. No rattles, smoke or bangs. I need it fixed before Friday. Any ideas?

Sniff petrol.
Thjat is a surprisingly simple but effective idea!!

Sniff petrol.
Brilliant guys, thanks! I'll point my mechanic in the direction of this thread.

Sniff petrol.
I must have a fuel leak somewhere. I can only smell it when the engine's running and the car's stationary, i.e. while driving through towns etc. Had a mechanic look around and he reckoned there'd been a lose pipe which he tightened up under the rear end of the car but it's still there. Any ideas?

Total bypass instructions please.
Thank you. I did find that, but I didn't think that was the complete bypass op'. The problem area on mine is the pipe that goes in between the near side turbo and the engine block. So can I bypass the turbo by connecting that pipe and the one that appears to be attached to the outside of the turbo?
