  1. what was the overall turnout like? looks liek teheres a few local cars there from either djcc or swjcc most of them are memebers of both.
  2. well as above really need it for insurance.
  3. done the neutral switch today, and reset the idle. the car now idles between 7-900 with the idle control valve plugged in and 550 with it unplugged. ive not had a chance to drive it yet, but it certainly feels a bit better going up and down the drive. it sounds much more like a v6 now than a highly strung 4 pooper. and on idle there is minimul if any smoke. raising the revs .up at a standstill causes smoke to start billowing out though still and once idling it will eventually clear. i think i nee dto take it on a damn good run before i can say its def still smoking/
  4. ive got a full japspeed turbo back system the front pipes and the mid box where a right handfull to pull together. i ently jacked up the cat section with a trolley jack and winched it in with some m10s
  5. im not attending anymore due to mechanical issues as id already said. however i can confirm that im not far from the site presently and the sun is glorious have a good day!
  6. After a chat with vodz and ultimateray and hellraiser I feel more positive. Few things to go over yomorrow as im working then off to wales this avo. Then we shall see. But even if this requires me to pull the block and rebuild it im going to get this car back to hoew it was if not better.
  7. i gave you a shout earlier ian, your girlfriend? answered. anyways when you pull away from prolonged idle its alot of smoke. however if your out and about and boosting without coming to a full rest it seems minamul. even on full boost. the deposits where dry not wet, and where abouts should i check within the pcv system?
  8. small update, took off the intercooler hoses, the far left one ie drivers side. has black deposits the other 3 are literally eat your dinner clean. if this indicates anything in particular?
  9. Hurry up and make one for the 89 spec front dave. That looks very nice good quality photos too.
  10. Does anyone have some turbo elbows they want to donate to meso I ca n refit my cats and see if the smoke stops?
  11. Custom its an import by the looks of it probally early 90s those mught be series 4 door cards but the seats are daf custom. Nice looking car on the face of it. Id wanna know where 400bhp cames from though.
  12. cheers for that ian il have a look at that when im under it next.
  13. right latest development i haven't had much time tonight, my mate has just had a baby so i gotta go meet him. anyways, ive run the engine back upto temp, the smoke doesnt appear on idle only above 1500 blips. once held above that for a period longer than a minute or so the smoke clears again. looking at the exhaust the tail pipes have a fine moisture residue all over them as if its a cold day and its vapor clearing. i also popped off both the rad cap and oil filler cap no smeg and no bubbles steam etc. i do however have the cat overheat light displayed. which seeings as i dont have cats is weird? its defiantly a white smoke it looks and behaves exactly like vapor. but continues once warm and has a strong oil smell.
  14. Expect around 350/370 with decats divorced down pipes ecu 16psi etc. breaking 400 is going to need bigger tubs and injectors to suit and as pete pointed out your 2b year old engine will probally throw a bearing or bust a ring.
  15. Seem a little opermistic to me and doesnt expand much on the necessary components to build power
  16. coming back to me is the thought that i deleted my aivs in the process but wasnt quite sure that hadnt deleted the egr solenoid and pissed up the vacum birds nest!
  17. i think gaz is off to italy over the next few days. and my time is real short with moving house etc. thats parta the problem everythings up in the air. - - - Updated - - - replied via pm
  18. assuming the block is good? lets say around 400 that seems to be the general consensus. once you start upping the tubs and chucking gallons more air through the system problems arise.
  19. i think your right but because i dunno where to go im loosing the will. im happy to graft on if i know where to go, but atm ive got halkf a dozen niggles and im not totally convinced theryre not all connected or products of eachother. :s ohhhh so confused and frustrated. oh and rob mat edid you get my text?
  20. i believe the later ones have the different connections as you say, the rail is also different and far more suitable for your aftermarket injectors. you can use a left hand drive version loom it just has an extra long portion to the ecu that can be tucked away. i dont think there is much point going over stock size injectors on stock tubs, you could use 555s. which would allow you to gte the most outt athe stock tubs but were probally only talking anextra 30 bhp. you would be better with gt28s or simular to increase the turbo power as it were and match them with some 555 or simular. but if im totally honest if your going go chasing 400/450+ bhp a proper engine rebuild with fresh forged internals will be the best bet. cheaper in the long run aswel.
  21. ahh, not too bad then. i think ive actually ruined this car now.
  22. im gonna have to drop out sadly, my car is ****ed. it would get there but id be sat there smoking and rattling and juddering looking like a ****.
