  1. right latest development i haven't had much time tonight, my mate has just had a baby so i gotta go meet him. anyways, ive run the engine back upto temp, the smoke doesnt appear on idle only above 1500 blips. once held above that for a period longer than a minute or so the smoke clears again. looking at the exhaust the tail pipes have a fine moisture residue all over them as if its a cold day and its vapor clearing. i also popped off both the rad cap and oil filler cap no smeg and no bubbles steam etc. i do however have the cat overheat light displayed. which seeings as i dont have cats is weird? its defiantly a white smoke it looks and behaves exactly like vapor. but continues once warm and has a strong oil smell.
  2. Expect around 350/370 with decats divorced down pipes ecu 16psi etc. breaking 400 is going to need bigger tubs and injectors to suit and as pete pointed out your 2b year old engine will probally throw a bearing or bust a ring.

  4. coming back to me is the thought that i deleted my aivs in the process but wasnt quite sure that hadnt deleted the egr solenoid and pissed up the vacum birds nest!

  6. assuming the block is good? lets say around 400 that seems to be the general consensus. once you start upping the tubs and chucking gallons more air through the system problems arise.
  7. i think your right but because i dunno where to go im loosing the will. im happy to graft on if i know where to go, but atm ive got halkf a dozen niggles and im not totally convinced theryre not all connected or products of eachother. :s ohhhh so confused and frustrated. oh and rob mat edid you get my text?
  8. i believe the later ones have the different connections as you say, the rail is also different and far more suitable for your aftermarket injectors. you can use a left hand drive version loom it just has an extra long portion to the ecu that can be tucked away. i dont think there is much point going over stock size injectors on stock tubs, you could use 555s. which would allow you to gte the most outt athe stock tubs but were probally only talking anextra 30 bhp. you would be better with gt28s or simular to increase the turbo power as it were and match them with some 555 or simular. but if im totally honest if your going go chasing 400/450+ bhp a proper engine rebuild with fresh forged internals will be the best bet. cheaper in the long run aswel.

  11. ive been through some ups and downs with this car but im sick of this now. as some of you know i recently converted from auto to manual but i have to say i dont even want to drive it anymore. thats a real first. the whole thing feels disjointed clunky, im pretty sure the turbos have shit the bed i took it out tonight and it stinks of oil and chucks out white smoke when it feels like it. every time you pull away it rattles and feels like it wants to stall. i can honestly say two weeks ago i had a very solid auto jdm zed. now if im totally honest i have a smokey piece of rattley shit. i need help or im gonna burn the thing to the floor.

  14. i was under the impression once they go theyre gone? thing is where ive just done the manual conversion and im wondering wether its something else ive done and im chasing the wrong thing. sadly i cant refit the stock cats as the turbo elbow studs where rusted solid and snapped out on the downpipe side.
  15. il try and video it and get a vid uploaded. the mot an tax runs out in september so if i can limp on till then if it is the tubs il pull the block and have them rebuilt then. but as i say i just wanna be sure. im not one for driving around with squeals or smoke makes me feel like a ****. makes it look like a junker, and id like to at least try and look after her.

  17. yeah i checked for play first aswel. the smoke is quite noticable. and i doubt it would pass an mot now :(
  18. i decatted when i did my manual conversion and i now have a small amount of white smoke on idle and a it smokes when reved. seems to smoke less once warm, i drove it the other day stayed off boost for about 5 minutes at motorway speeds and had 0 smoke. the car still boosts well and pulls well. i seems to remember jimmer putting up a diagnostic thing for smoke, ie hold at this rev and if it does this etc etc. i had absolutely no issues before decatting and im pretty sure its the turbo oil seals i just want to be sure before i go putting considerable time and expense sorting out the wrong problem. input welcome guys
  19. ive looked at that previously dave i was concerned that because of the curved edge on the bottom of the zeds front bumper it would look a little stuck on. also i think i want something with an edge to it. like an actual splitter. i was thinking today about a strip of 1mm rubber rubbing strip laid over a piece of aliminuim thats riverted onto the base they cover it in some 3m carbon fibre vynal to appear as one piece and give the effect. cant really make my mind up atm. - - - Updated - - - which is the laguna one ? the cupra one yeah it would hav eto be felttled too much to get what im after. keep the ideas coming guys.
  20. I want to make a front splitter, im thinking along the lines of a curved rubber strip. Like on the front of many modern cars. I dontreally want to make it out of fibre glass for obvious reasons. Any suggestions of what to use, I have the 89 spec front
  21. Yellow will be phils with a matt black bonnet aka ultimateray. Its tge only yellow on ed round here and the silver I believe is owned by a couple in xchruch did it have quite a lairy body kit? If it was mine it would be red and making a fair chunk of noise.
