  1. This wont last long, you need to be a subscribed ie paid up member to sell on here.
  2. Surley the rear hatch is heavy on its own.
  3. good start and yes with that sort of budjet you will find something in pretty reasonable order. a comprehensive and full history is mandatory really for a goodun. have a look around the forum there is a buyers guide hanging around that will help you.
  4. yeah theyre anncilery belts not actually connected to the timing belt
  5. if its an import esp with a 99 spec front end you may get away with it, by checking with the dvla explaining its a grey import they may send you out a permission slip/letter to run the 3/4 plate, on the basis of it actually being a grey area of the law. ie its legal dependant on the interpretation of the law that surrounds it. theyres a guy round here with a s15 he says one of these letters after getting dragged into the police station for refusing to remove it.
  6. thing is aswel there sno real need for this one to have a timing mark as its only an artilleryman belt pulley, the timing can be designated with astock would should needs be then this place on without ever disturbing the timing belt.
  7. i dunno about vg blocks specifically but in general relying on the crank pulley marking isnt the most reliable way to designate tdc in any event. my old engine had no timing marks on the pulleys and the top pulley was a vernier type. the tdc was designated by a dial gauge.
  8. i hate orange its one of those colours that cant make its mind up. are you yellow or are you red? no your fecking orange. its also a signal of shit things break down trucks hazard lights those annoying amber lights when you can never decide if its time to go or not. most orange things in nature are bad taste wise, theres a reason for it orange is rubbish. rant over.
  9. shallow water fishing is the best, they dont half shift lol. deep water they just hold up dont they not so fun. i love summer stalking in clear water.
  10. agreed daffy i love reading about what those who can afford to spend the cash and time i cant, to do the things i cant. its like living vicariously lol.
  11. have a flick through that might answer some questions http://www.300zxclub.com/showthread.php?t=202329&highlight=dump+tube
  12. yeah however this is less important when theyre both going into the exhaust my understanding was that with it going to atmostphere you get boost creep.
  13. yup uk spec read in psi and jspec in hmpg or something which is roughly double hence it reading upto 14. later cars dont even have a boost gauge.
  14. exactly that just take off the shine with some wet and dry. unless your fishing in super clear water or very shallow i doubt it will be any where near as bad as you think. its not mirror finsih after all. i have noticed an increase in catch rate since switching to black hooks instead of bare wire colour. but theyre really shiney and the way they waft in the current (chub fishing) really catches the sun in the crystal clear avon.
  15. cheers mark, hopefully il get to this point but atm i want the car back on the road an di cant afford to throw my house deposit or part of it at least on a a new engine and turbos lol. regrettably. get it all healthy then push it through with the usual and hopefully get 350-370 out of it. should be enough on the road.
  16. ah right cheers again mark, il be rebuilding the block before i go down that route. want it to be reliable.
  17. or just ditch the gayline and get another z32..........
  18. is that the small angled section that bolts onto the top line so to speak, on the front compressor housing.
  19. cheers mark pob easier to buy some goosed true t28s and rebuild them then.
  20. yes that was the thing i was trying to remember mark. that will be being done. do you know with t25, t28 etc does the main housing vary? i know the rebuild kits are all the same, so it made me wonder. as at some point i plan on pushing through the 400bhp mark and would want to use t28s so obviously if my main body is in great shape as ive just built them it would be a shame to waste them a few years down the line.
  21. just to keep you all updated, the engine is currently out, me and hellraiser have been causally popping the tubs off and a few other useful bits while its out. anyways ive currently got a pair of turbos in 8 millions pieces and ive found the culprit. the passenger side turbo has a worn exhaust seal. allowing oil to pass into the exhaust housing. anyways, tahts going to be rebuilt shortly and the pair of them upgraded to 360 degree trust bearings, to future proof the blighters. ive also discovered a few things while the block is out one being the passenger side manifold was missing two bolts. a pcv had its little restrictor flipped so gas was passing way to freely. anyone got any stainless coil pack brackets?
  22. i think youve just upset the skyline world lol who believe the rb is farrrrrr superoir to the vg (theyre wrong of corse) although it has to be said the rb is very comparable and a junk load easier to work on. maybe look at using the rb to better effect, get to know it. a 400bhp skyline or zed will be quick enough for any road in this country.
  23. ah haha ive just removed mine with the block out and spent the whole process realising that doing it in the car is worse than i thought it would be.
