Zed sounds like a friggin' baby cougar!!
which all supports the theory that its overfueling, or fueling in the correct place, boost leak test is first, as everyones said.

Zed sounds like a friggin' baby cougar!!
That sounds odd, familiar but odd. Similar sort of noise mine used to make when the fan shroud dropped, and the viscous would rub. I think you've caused an air leak by disturbing something boost leak test first and foremost, I recon.

Smoking ZX
I certainly wouldn't keep driving it, any bits of metal getting in and floating around the oil system is bad news. Might be worth dropping a few drops of I think its diesel down the bore and retesting this should seal the ring temporarily, and give you a false positive. This can then confirm its the ring rather than the valves. You will get a miss with the plug getting oil fouled, however if you have melted the piston or killed the ring there must have been a causative at the beginning. It seems unusual to have cylinder 4 fail, its more typical for it to be the rear two, wouldn't be surprised if there was a second fault in that cylinder. Engine rebuild or replacement im afraid bud.

quick boost leak question
boost leak check is the first step really, that will revel split or disconnected hoses etc, in regard's to the sender though id be surprised if you can blow more than about two 2 psi with your lungs...don't forget it wont work with the ignition off. Also silly question but you arte checking the gauge whilst driving right? you will struggle to build any positive boost at idle, only vac pressure.

quick boost leak question
either the boost sender is screwed or the hose has popped off, if it wasnt boosting it would drive like a pancake.

twice as much as id want to pay and athird of what you want, i was going to sell my built 2.0 sohc pinto which are uber desriable for the kit car lot, rs200's you name it, proven 130rwhp but i couldnt get pennies for it really, its upsetting how little thiat sort of thing is worth. I ended up stripping down the block to the short block with the head off and sold sections of it, i made more on the cam than what i was being offered for the whole damn block.

Getting the best out of a stock engine - advice please
That's an impressive budget list, at that rate throwing in some sport 500's for gt525's would be a negligent price.

power steering pump adjustment
you just loosen the one behind the pulley as you have then loosen the one on the face of the sort of crescent shaped piece, then use the one of the far left of the pump at the end of the crescent piece to wind it in and out. You may find it needs some encouragement to move its a damn tight fit.

Still misfiring
Don't, they were the ones I was thinking of, they have very little experience with the z32, im not going say things in the open forum but they have only really worked on two zeds one was martins and one was mine, they did bog all to mine couldn't even diagnose that the maf was faulty, it took jeff about 20 seconds to work that out not an exaggeration, they had it for three days and concluded that the cats were blocked and the block was ****ed. Martins car well I wasn't there so I cant say. I wouldn't let them touch mine again.
