  1. There are many ways one can achieve, post mortem. Way more Americans running those numbers than over here, http://www.300zxclub.com. It really depends what you want, as they say cheap, reliable, fast you can only pick two.
  2. You could pop off the timing cover, there's differences on some of the ages there. Different cam pullies.
  3. Out of interest what did you part with for the system.
  4. Or is it missing? Is was there when I left? :s pretty sure failure to display/missing holds a lesser penalty than incorrectly displayed or eliagable plates. After all if it's genuinely fallen off in your travels, well it's genuinely fallen off.
  5. What a shit state of affairs, really feel for you jeff.
  6. Spotted it this morning about half 7 near the m3 junction. Anyone on heres? Was heading towards Southampton.
  7. Tbh I don't understand how you guys brake them and make anything. They must arrive dirt cheap. The reason I say that is I've watched a few members brake and even after months you still have 80% of the car left because either no one wants the parts or wants to pay tuppence. Still I recon every time one gets scrapped mine goes up in value by a quid.
  8. A 245/45/18 is too big mate your speedo will be way off use an online calculator. Expect a 35/40 profile is most likely. I run 225/40/r18 upfront and 265/35/r18 at the rear, as said though you will make a ballon out of those rears. 255 is prob the limit. That's the only reason I didn't go for them, 245 just isn't enough rubber for me.
  9. That really is the important thing, fun was had and no one hurt themselves or the cars.
  10. They go under the nose panel. Remove your stock recircs, use the bottom hose to connect to the bottom of the bov. the top one that currently goes back to the maf pipe work above needs to be capped off. Finally the vac line needs hooking up from the old to new. Done.
  11. Some pad texting on a push bike drifted into the on coming traffic ie me. I tooted him and braked, and got a hurl of abuse. : s next time I can run you over if you prefer mate?
  12. Correct you'd be cutting out the air metering, that being said it should run normally till 3k
  13. Are you not living proof that you can teach yourself?
  14. Seriously? Have you even done any diagnosis on it? Tbh mate if you give up that easy a performance car probably isn't for you, a honda civic is probably more practical.
  15. Is the Gtx2860 the turbo used in z1s gt600 package?
  16. Yes is the answer, however dicky already said it's just not financially viable right now. It can be done later. A good stock vg can hold 5-600hp just fine, conversely a bad one can't hold the 300 it started life with. There's guys in the states running 7-800 on a stock bottom end! As you rightly point out though a rebuilt block with the supporting hard wear will be FAR better and more reliable.
  17. 22mpg still isn't bad considering it's chipped and even what it is to start with! It's a 20+ year old 3l twin turbo, modern cars of that kind of spec and power output only achieve mildly more really.
  18. Yeah I've had over 30 in my Lwb when it was auto.
  19. There is quite obviously an oil supply issue, weather that's from a blockage or contamination Christ knows till it's taken apart. Until that happens no one can point fingers. On a lighter note what wing mirrors are they dicky?
  20. I was informed by the chap that owns cr turbos that if the turbo isn't primed with oil "you will be lucky to get to the end of the road, before it fails" Priming a turbo isn't very specific unfortunately. You simply get oil to circulate before allowing the engine to run, usually done without the fuel relay in to achieve this. I am sure this would have been done its school boy stuff. What it sounds like is your turbo has insufficient oil supplied to it. This has caused the premature failure. A leaky or blocked line? An old oil pump that simply isn't providing sufficient circulation? I do feel for you. Just so you know a failed seal won't kill a turbo it will just make it smoke.
  21. Hicas is dictated by speed, no speedo creates a fault in its system so it flashes up hicas fault. As the hicas cannot operate propery.
  22. If it wasn't for cable ties and gaffer tape Britain would literally fall apart.
  23. Lol, you should see my new steering wheel rich, it's got diamonties . - - - Updated - - - We all you love a solid one simon!
  24. Yup all those things make me happy and feature highly on my car. I find my massive boot instal and excessive neon collection help to create a composed and stylish product. In a serious note though I wonder if it would be cheaper to have the handles chromed. Rather than sourcing the already chromed ones?
