  1. Lol, you will need a torque wrench to reassemble
  2. I got the nut half off and then the joint started turning. I can see the drive shaft driving me mad too as I can't lock the diff up FFS lol.
  3. Apples and oranges there though, a z33 is a far more common, modern/reliable and cheaper to run. With the plummeting price and soaring availability of the z33 they are becoming ever popular with the younger (read free time and disposable income) owners. They are fast on their way to for filling the placement of a replacement for the 200sx's
  4. Started stripping the new subframe today, I hate, hate, hate the lower arm ball joint.
  5. I love the m4 its a fantastic slalom corse, dodging the pot holes at 80 is fun enough let alone 170+ lol, bloody roads.
  6. It won't cost you much to pull your engine buddy, it's fixing it that costs. Get it out at least you have started and broken the seal.
  7. What you need and will always need is tools. Halfords do some great sets for good money that cone with lifetime warranties. Is it an all aluminium engine?
  8. I do notice this, it's not just a case of buying dogs either. We getting a lot of impulse members, but it drive it for a few months a year, then sell it on. The core members stay, but many new members don't stand the test of time. Look how many hands murts car has passed through of late, certainly not a dog. One thing I don't understand is the amount of non club cars floating about. Who's working on them, who's helping them etc etc. a z33 is not a car you can just drive everyday and never break..
  9. I think you can factor in two main issues. Mobile phone access, whilst it's easy to read the forum in the go throughout the day, replying can be fussy on a phone. So many don't bother, almost a read only situation. Facebook, not only do people seem to be migrating further toward it, one of my local clubs literally has no traffic on its forum, it's all done on Facebook! I've noticed an irritating and lazy trend for people to link their latest projects to FB only, simply posting up a FB link to the pics. We don't all wish to have FB So can't view it. To address your point jeff about work life balance, there was a programme on the other day about how traditionally higher earners did less hours. The more educated you were the fewer hours you did. That seems to have turned on its head. I can't remember the last time I worked a flat 39 hours.
  10. Where did you getter Gaz ones from bud? Are they height adjustable units?
  11. I was thinking just the same, it sounds like the symptom has been treated without rectifying the cause. I can see you wasting money here by simply replacing the crank or bearings. Source a known Goodun, that can tide you through while the other block is stripped inspected machined cleaned and rebuilt. :)
  12. The maximum speed permitted here in mainland Britian is 70mph so I dunno why that would be an issue, obviously you don't speed. Alternatively find the dammed bonger and remove it :) most aftermarket ecu's dump that bong and remove the speed limiter opening up the full 170 odd mph of the car, which is obviously highly usefull on the M4 lol
  13. Might just be the first time it's got hot, hot in a while and cleared out some crap. I could also be more sinister and a little but of an investigation is always prudent with these cars. Have a quick look at the oil filler cap, oil level, coolant level and coolant condition. Equally have a good look round the back of the engine when running for signs of leaks or steam/smoke.
  14. There normally is Gary. Madmarco normally brings a gazebo, he wasn't available this year. The banner was in my car but I never made it.
  15. I think the UV destroys them yeah, mine are five years old as I say and starting to discolour. they arnt bad, but they don't look spanking new.
  16. That's what I'm suggesting yeah, the best option would be to borrow some 17s and see how they feel. It may not have the desired effect, quite an expensive experiment.
  17. Unless you have real sentiment towards that particular shell, id say sell it. The cost of storage will mount up above the cars market value for starters, you wouldn't be able to check the car regularly, it could be stolen and you may not know for months or years and lastly they don't like being left stood standing, all kind of gremlins form IMO. Sell it keep the money, spend it in Canada and the US on parts then but anew zed when your back with the money you saved. Much better option.
  18. ;) I did indeed. That's my next project lol. I thought that's what you said, I had it in my mind stillen ones were red though for some reason.
  19. Yup they suit that car pretty well, where did you source them from?
  20. Finished fitting my whiteline ARB's, broke a rear drop link Friday during instal. Shops were closed so it stopped play, the whiteline bar uses a vertical mount rather than the horizontal mount of the stock ones. Anyway after some thinking I thought 200sx front drop links might work with some minor modification, which were on the shelf at euro car parts. They fitted like a glove, no modification required at all. Much sharper turn in and much flatter through the corners now.
  21. I did keep saying this and do every year, I've NEVER qued for more than minutes in or out, thee between 6 and 7 leave between 2 and 3. I've literally rolled in without stopping once before. Breakfast on site is pretty reasonable as well.
  22. See the estate version isn't that floored really :p
  23. I've been the last three years on the trot. At half past 7 Friday night I realised I had exhausted all avenues to get my car there :( I'd driven home that lunch time and was literally falling asleep. Starting at half 3am to arrive at 6 was a receipt for disaster.
