  1. Thought I recognised the name.
  2. Good job you spoke to an expert there then hey.
  3. Lol 7k even in first will likely result in illegal driving due to excessive amount of wheelspin.
  4. I doubt a fireball is any hotter than the EGT in any event.
  5. They are supposed to be so that when driving hard esp in the upper rpm as a common condition when drifting, you don't force a dangerously lean situation. You will find this version of rev limiter in many track and high end sports cars, those photos of race cars spitting flames..it can also be used for launch control a type of antilag allowing you to build spool at a preset level ready to launch. So there sent jay for fun They are generally used by people to make fireballs and noise at carshows, which is a bit gay. Spitting flames at 7k to rpmis a but different to making a public nuisance of yourself anding like a chav. I do want one but I won't be using it to delight my facebook friends or the ncDs crowd , I will be using it to giggle to myself as the road lights up behind me as I boot it out if some A road left hander.
  6. I'm hoping he's going to say stock or 99, I never like the storesk one it had personally, it's my second least favourite over the basking shark.
  7. Yup want one, watching adl Phoenix popping out fireballs on the a34 really made me want that overly childish toy on my big red toy car lol
  8. Lol, time I see blue smoke waft out I say oh no, when I hear it hit full boost as I exit the corner followed by the bov I say oooooooh yes. Like I say it's a toy I just like having fun the bov currently is fun. My recircs are on the shelf just incase I get bored.
  9. They have no benifit or use, you could also blank the recirc and get the chatter noise as a few have done, read up on it first. Recircs give the best performance and that's why they are fitted stock. I do personally have a set of baileys they cost me about £50 and I have them purely for novelty. We call them the angry budgies. When I pick my mates up they all love the wahhhhhhh putush noise of my car, its childish but it is a toy, the noise makes me smile so stay they will.
  10. I hear what your saying but it's pretty embarrassing, I see the glee on people's faces as a lot of people love cars like these to be broken. I do plan to track the car and I need to put off spending lots of money with jimmer for a while yet now. I totted up the parts, includinging a new OEM timing belt was like £80, few hours of my time I might aswel just do them for peace if mind. I want to redo my valve covers and reroute the Pcv lines anyway so that's half the prep work done in any event.
  11. Iirc it doesn't quite work like that. As Groover says the pulley is fixed by the woodruff key and when fitted won't line up with 0 TDC, seems odd doesn't it but I believe that's correct. Did you count the teeth or just go by the premarked lines?
  12. It certainly is a novelty to see a Morgan, trouble is they are a bit like porches and all look pretty similar, I've seen a few now. I also don't think they look all that special, defiantly not as expensive as they are. My car of the moment is the lambo aventador I've seen three since yesterday funny enough, but it's a seriously serious looking car like a cross between a jet fighter and a batmobile. There is a long list of stuff if buy before a Morgan.
  13. Did you do any testing first or just assume it was the stem seals? Cheers for the reply.
  14. Nope, I actually junked a core for that very reason when I was making a pair a while back. My gut reaction has been turbos for a while but but recent reading does suggest something else.
  15. Apparently the leak down won't show the valve seals at fault, it will obviously help to show the health of the combustion chamber. A vac vague may help to show leaking seals by a bouncing needle on the gauge.
  16. All I said was that it came across snotty and you could have worded it better.
  17. Il bite, if you sent me that message you'd be getting rather a snotty reply, you could have worded it a bit better. Prices do seem to be on the rise and that does look a clean car, however nearly £10k is a lot of money when the average price is is a third of that for a similar condition car, I think your valuation of £4k it's pretty realistic. He may of priced it as a chancer, he may have priced it as a dreamer or he may not want to sell as such and that's the price he would part with it for. If sone one offered me £10k+ I think I'd begrudgingly have to say ok...I could pay for a new kitchen and buy a camero with the change. I don't want to do that that but hey it would be pretty tempting. At the end of the day the market decides, if people start paying £10k for them in that condition, then people will sell them for that. I can understand as a perspective buyer you may wish for them to remain a bargain, I can assure you though we will laugh one day at how they were brought and sold for banger money and scraped over a few 100 quids worth of parts, the Z32 is becoming an appreciating classic.
  18. Look like dog worming tablets!
  19. Have you seen close ups of that car? It's way more detailed than you would expect.
  20. Yeah, I suppose as well with little oil the lifters would tick louder. Might Bedworth using some assembly lube when you reassemble, I skipped that step on an old pinto and the cam jammed on initial start up, had to rebuild the head.
  21. Is there any evidence of damage to the cams etc from oil starvation? While your stripped to the short block you could always pull it out won't take you much longer will it, then you can inspect the bottom end for play and wear, be easier to check now.
  22. You will have left off or undone an earth or connection. You've defiantly got charge? As the that's exactly what happens when the battery has insufficient charge it just goes click. If you keep trying eventually it won't even do that and the dash lights will disco.
  23. Friday I took it out and we used as a normal car, four guys smushed in t tops off. Infact I've used it every opertuity this weekend and last, I took it food shopping haha. Today's the first day I've not used it as I'm a little worse for wear this morning.
  24. Holly hell no lol, we the English do not speak the queens English. Well most don't. Regional accents can be extremely different and have completely different words for the same meaning. It's not a very big place but it is a collection of small countries some of which have thier own languages. Are you British by heritage? Those tubs seems like the ideal way forward, I've found them over here for as little as £550 a side, how did you get on with the actuator brackets and did you use the oem oil drain?
