  1. If only you could plastic weld.
  2. I used the same bit of kit. However I didn't flare mine just rolled the lip flat so I know it won't slice into the tyre wall.
  3. There's not some in line fuse behind the dash causing head aches is there? I hate stuff like this, very frustrating. You know how it is though, it will be something stupid.
  4. The roads are so much more dangerous these days obviously
  5. My first car was actually a Citroen 2cv. My mum had owned years ago and it had sat in storage for the best part of a decade. The conversation was something along the lines of if you can get it back on the road you can drive it, if you can drive that you can drive anything. So in learnt to fix it and I was learning normal manual and collumn gears as a learner. Drove it around for about six months I suppose after I passed till I could afford something else, all jokes aside it was pretty fun to drive as there so slow you can rag it everywhere and you can't roll them. Good times. I then brought a Suzuki Vitara, it had no roof and 4wd so it was great for throwing our bikes in the back and trudging across the fields to trails etc. Took it out green laning in the evening, this thing was never clean. Crashed it twice, had so many misadventures it in its untrue. Blew the head gasket on the M4 and fixed it the next weekend with dad. It was a tough little beast, very practical for me, I just got sick of it, it wasn't very cool. At some point I will buy an old land cruiser or something to beat on like I did with that. Then I brought a Ford capri, 1.6 it had the looks I wanted. It went sideways a lot. It was very simple to work on and I learnt loads. Did an engine swap and poured money into it. Blew it up and lost heart. Brought a newish Vauxhall corsa, the idea was to have something modern and reliable an cheap on fuel for work as I was an apprentice at this point. Honestly that was the biggest heap of crap ever. I started getting the Capri sorted and had that as a toy. It started to become clear that while the corsa was newer it wasn't more reliable and I saved £10 a week driving it instead and it was Ghey. So that sold. Capri broke again and I got sick of it, it wasn't even faster than the corsa. So I hunted about I wanted power and I wanted a proper engine, I wanted rwd. So there was a long period of looking. Eventually I realised I could buy a z32 which I'd wanted for years and brought it. Daily'd it for about 3 years. Then a job change meant I got a company Van and the z became the toy it now is.
  6. 100xs better! Imagine that all cracking the first time you give it some stick.
  7. Whilst I'm waiting to borrow the equipment to check the crank and bores etc I've recorded the piston grades and rod bearings. I've also stripped the Pistons off the rods. Cyl Piston grade Rod bearing 1 2 1 All cylinders and bearing are the same grade as each other. I haven't had time to check the crank ones yet. Just to clarify am I correct in the understanding that if wear is within tolerance and should I wish to replace the 30P Pistons with 30P1 replacements, I would require a set of 30p1 Pistons of grade 2 and a set of rod bearings grade 1? I like to be clear with these things.
  8. That bottom photo appears to be from Simply Japanese.
  9. I meant parts tbf. AMS are based in Canada arnt they, so I assume their website prices are in dollars Canadian.
  10. It probably is rich. Like you say advances in technology and let's not forget power delivery. How a car applies and utilises it power can be as important as its gross power value. Look how quick the R35 is.
  11. Dunno a lot guys over there seem to like the 740s over 500s. However you are right it's not like it's stock or stock with a little help. Probably got more hp than a stock 370?
  12. Let me see what I can do. Il have to talk her into this one.
  13. I've seen this kinda thing before, people buy stuff and die or move. A friend of a friend just left a 5 car garage here a dog and fully furnished flat because he went on holiday to America and never came back. However the lack of external pics the vagueness, it's in London too  I would be suspicious that it's nicked.
  14. And specs on your Z32?
  15. Been hunting for it and can't find it.
  16. To an extent I do agree with you. But honestly driving it is the whole point. Having a car you cannot drive is like if you had impotence. It's seriously frustrating. The hours I spend working on my car are ok, I enjoy a tinker but there's a means to it. The driving. - - - Updated - - - So nows the time to buy zed stuff in Canada in £'s ey?
  17. For less than 30k new there's the golf R the focus RS etc hell if you want to be silly an Ariel Atom. I know where talking less power but we're also talking 10k cheaper. If you had 30-40k to spend on a new car what would you buy? For most people it's ether speed, luxury or more often compromise as they can't spend 40k on a toy. If you can blow 40k on a toy you can blow more. For nearly 40k the z gives you no back seats, isn't much faster than a golf and well it's not looking like a great compromise. I like them, but you can see why in this day and age they arnt selling like hot cakes.
  18. Stock for stock? I don't think so. The early 350s yes but the later ones no. The 370 should be a good touch faster stock.
  19. Not many school age owners over here bud. Firstly you can't learn to drive till your 17 and then the first few years of driving the insurance is so expensive that most can only afford very slow cheap cars. To insure a 300zx at 17 would cost you more than it's worth, possibly subtle it's worth depending on your neighbourhood. So most have to wait till they are 21-25 to make it affordable. There's not many that are prepared to just stare at it till they can drive it
  20. And so it should it's 20+ years newer.
  21. My main stealer has one. Yours probably does too. They are underpowered tbf though, even the nismo is only 350hp which isn't much for a sports car of that price these days.
  22. Slick Pete has a SWB NA. In fact I can think of a few.
  23. Recently I'm seeing more of these. I've seen two normal 370s today.
  24. I've seen pictures of it on a red car all smoothed in and it looked ALOT better.
