  1. advertising something for 8.5k doesn't mean it'll sell Gaz. At least not at that price! The 'vert that sold on here recently is a far more realistic example. Daffy.
  2. I'd be back down there demanding the cost of a machine polish to rectify it!
  3. Cheers Gary. I nearly accepted it yesterday just to be done with it. But it's not right so sent it back. To be fair, the guy said if we're not happy then they will try and sort it. They must agree as they wouldn't be trying a new bumper.
  4. They rectified some of the problems but still not happy so car wasn't accepted again. This is getting ridiculous!! They are now going to try a brand new front bumper to see if the alignment is better. Was supposed to be a 4 day repair FFS
  5. Have a look at this thread Richard. Plenty of opinions from people that have used the Chem Guys. http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=337580&highlight=Jet+seal Daffy.
  6. Richard, you should try Auto Finesse tough coat. It is the easiest sealant to apply I have used and the results are stunning. These are my results on notoriously difficult to get reflections white, and deep gloss on black. Daffy.
  7. Very nice!! Worth the wait :cool3:
  8. What Richard said Si. Accept it's not going to be ready, there'll be other shows bud. Although I am suprised you chose to send it for paint the week before this meet, I probably would of done the same. You obviously weren't happy with it and wanted it perfect. Although I think it's a shame it won't be at Coventry, I commend you in your attention to detail. Fantastic Zed.
  9. Nice one Baz, and the boys. Looking forward to seeing this Zed.
  10. They are going to love me tomorrow. 1 Rear Bumper: Poorly aligned. Sits lower on the right hand side (OSR). This wasn’t noticeable before the repair. 2 Front Bumper: Poorly aligned. Needs lifting, panel gap at wings are tight at the bottom and open at the top. Paint will rub at the bottom if left as is. Panel gap was uniform before the repair. 3 Scratches to the NSF wing. These were caused by the accident. 4 Colour difference shows where the bumper meets the NSF wing. 5 OSR light cluster is damaged. There is an internal crack. 6 Paint has been rubbed away at the boot shut line NSR. When boot was opened and closed after being damaged? 7 Tailgate spoiler has scratches on its leading edge and either side of the high level brake light. When removed from the old tailgate and placed on the floor? Note: We were told by your technician that if a bonnet or are wing are painted then all 3 need to be painted. This is due to how the metallic paint lays on the panel.
  11. For what it's worth, I personally think values are on the up. At least, advertised prices are. It might be that 'average' prices are higher as has already been discussed, due to more and more of the less cared for examples failing mots due to rot etc. Also a lot more 'non trade' breakers are seizing opportunities to buy 'breakers', thus less are kept on the road. And why not? Everyone is entitled to make a living, and if parts from these cars keep several others on the road then surely it's a good thing. All of those on here with nice, well cared examples have nothing to worry about. I doubt it will cost you anything in depreciation over the coming years. And if running cost are covered by a slight increase in prices then happy days. Effectively you have 'free' motoring. Normally it's only those who can afford BMW CSL's, Porsche gt3's etc who enjoy such a privilege. Oh and series1 Lotus Elise's are also offering dead cert residuals :) Daffy.
  12. As I said, I'm buying not selling lol
  13. The example that KGF had for sale at £3995.00, and the price Baz paid for his '99 spec are far more realistic IMO. But as a potential buyer I would say that. Good, clean, rot free examples with proven history and graphs to back up any power claims will not only sell for a premium but obviously will sell easier. Saying that, we are not all from the same mould, so a freshly painted Zed with body kit will have far more appeal to some than an OEM+ example. It's not to my taste but I can still respect the time, effort and skill put into executing it, if it is done to a high standard. Daffy.
  14. Non Zed related, but do you live in Diss, Jay? There is a van for sale I am interested in but it's a 110 mile drive from me.
  15. Gutted for you Si. Hope it turns out to your satisfaction this time bud.
  16. I found it http://www.stanceworks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19185
  17. Si, you'll know the car and find a pic I'm sure. The red one with the shaved engine bay that is amazing in its detail. Just got carried away with the stance. Had custom wheels including a matching space saver. Know it?
  18. I am actually laughing out loud "legrath it to death...." I daren't put lolling lol ;)
  19. Cheers guys. I was going to see if I could get an appraisal from my local detailing specialist purely as it might carry more credence with the insurance co. But I think I'll arrange to drive it to the bodyshop myself and go over the car with the 'manager'. They can't fob me off as it simply isn't right.
  20. That's what happened to my Slicktop lol
  21. I couldn't give a flying who's a mod or not. I'm so well behaved I don't have to worry lol I think Steves problem was that he had to start the original thread to even get a response from Ian. And fair play to Gary for stepping in and mediating. I'd have taken the 50% that eventually was offered. Kev is allowed an opinion. An opinion is just that, it's not right or wrong, it's an opinion.
