Yah or Nay
Definitely no. But then I'm not generally a fan of decals / vinyls unless they've been done particularly well and are of a particularly spectacular nature. And at the end of the day as ChrisP said, it's your car so if you like it then go for it. Let's face it, if any of us were that bothered about what some people might think about us we probably wouldn't drive Zs in the first place.

Car cover / tarpaulin
Yeah, I'm going to visit my parents next weekend so I'm hoping it will arrive before then because I'll have to park the car under trees and in the direct line of fire from seagulls as well... but I'm kind of expecting to be disappointed on this one. ;)

Car cover / tarpaulin
Argh! Thanks for the offer Steve but I ordered one from the link Dave sent earlier... that said it's really nice and has the Stillen logo on it so I'm really happy. No idea how long it will take to get here though as it's coming from the States. Thanks, Bart

Car cover / tarpaulin
Hi everyone, Seeing as how my car is too wide to fit in the garage (or at least too wide to fit in and allow me to get out without scratching the door until I cover the wall in foam) I was thinking of getting one of those tarpaulins to put over the car to keep it dry when it rains and stop it getting filthy after I've just spent 3 hours cleaning and polishing it. Seen one covering up a Jag the other day and decided it might be a good plan. Anyone know any good places to get one from? Thanks, Bart

ebay question
I've spotted this kind of thing too. Couple of times I've bought stuff new because the prices on eBay were either about the same or more.

What is faster?
That makes sense, but I think Toyota's have a pretty good reputation for reliability in any case. Actually the other reason a Skyline was out (apart from the glaring budget problem) is that I'd heard they're not terribly reliable, whereas the Z isn't too bad. Bear in mind I just had a Renault which was great for the first 5 years and then started to fall apart at the seams so the Z would have to be really awful to seem that bad.

Offensive language?
Lol

What is faster?
If money were no object I'd drive a Skyline but it would need to be completely suited and booted, but then if money were no object I suppose I could afford to do that anyway.

What is faster?
I tend to agree with the general opinion here. I went for the Z because although I used to have a thing about the GTO I now think it looks extremely dated plus it's supposed to be not such a great drive. The Supra I think is a nice car but the styling is just a bit more aggressive and boy-racerish than I was wanting whereas the Z is really slinky and looks extremely cool without looking like you're really showing off when you drive it... unless the roof's off of course in which case you invariably look like a bit of a tart but I can live with that. ;)

worst thing about summer
I'm not going to start whingeing about summer. It's great. I actually managed to have the targa tops off my car two days in a row last weekend. Absolutely marvellous.

Seems quiet on here!!
Yeah, well I want to get to a meet. Was planning to go to the Midlands meet the other Sunday but it all went a bit pear on account of the landlord's agents wanting to inspect our house and it being a complete tip -- guess what I spent Sunday afternoon doing? Now I'm waiting for the next Southend meet (next Sunday?)... that'll sort the beer issue, or at least the one beer I'll be able to have when driving back in the Z.
-
Offensive language?
Well, I'm not saying I agree or disagree at this point, but is it any worse than saying Brit or Scot, which are both abbreviations?
-
Attention puller!!!
To be honest I don't think it attracts that much attention even from blokes... although I was quite pleased when the chap up the road who owns a DB7 came over to admire it.

Are you using Firefox?
Well, I don't care whether or not Firefox is faster than IE or not. What I do know is that it's better and more secure. I don't get spyware and other filth any more from goodness knows where. I've been using FF since version 0.4 came out. Kicks butt as far as I'm concerned.

Best place to get a stereo fitted?
I totally agree. Just spent the afternoon cleaning it with one of my housemates and it now looks totally fantastic so I'm well chuffed all told. Cheers, Bart

Chris moyles (whatever his name is)
The Archers. :nelson: :nelson: :nelson: It's like Emmerdale without the pictures... I'd rather boil my eyes in vinegar than listen to that rubbish. Must admit that I did enjoy Scott Mills taking over from Chris Moyles when the latter was on holiday. I'm quite a fan of the whole flirt divert thing. Just need to find somebody to give the number to.

Best place to get a stereo fitted?
Hi guys, Just wanted to say thanks for all the help. Finally had enough time yesterday to fit the stereo, which actually arrived two weeks ago. I wanted to give myself a lot of time to do it so I didn't have to rush the job. Just a warning though, the P80MP doesn't come with ISO connectors so I had to buy a connector to fit it to the ISO adapter. I had two choices at this point: connector blocks (or something similar like crimps) or soldering... and, well to cut a long story short I've been wanting an excuse to get a soldering iron for years, so I decided to go down that route. Took a bit longer but I'm very happy with the results. A very tidy job even if I say so myself (and I haven't used a soldering iron in anger for about 13 years). Then it was just a case of connecting the wiring harness to the stereo and the ISO adapter to the connectors in the car and that was basically it. I chopped the end off of the aerial relay wire that came with the stereo and soldered it to the corresponding wire on the ISO setup and that now works too. So I'm chuffed as nuts: finally music in the car!! I'd definitely recommend fitting it yourself to anyone rather than paying a professional. The wiring's nice and tidy, and I didn't cut any of the wrong cables by mistake or lose any screws down the electric seat rails or anything like that so everything that should work on the car does still work. If you don't have the bits you need you can pick them all up for the money you'll save on paying someone to get it done, plus you'll learn a few things, and as a number of people have pointed out you'll almost certainly do a better job. Thanks again to everyone who posted. Bart :)
