Possible boost leak?
Well, I've had my Z for about a week now and overall am very happy with it. It's got a few squeaks and I'm trying to work out whether these are from the suspension or not because they do twist my melon a bit: they make the car sound a bit old and rickety. Of slightly more concern is the turbo noise I'm getting. When driving I'm getting a distinct hiss / whistle from the RHS as the boost builds up. It's not that loud at all but it is noticeable above engine and road noise. I'd probably not be too worried if it were the same noise from both sides because I've, perhaps naively, assumed that the turbos are mounted one on each side of the engine bay, however the noise does seem to originate from the RHS only. So, any thoughts on this? I'm taking her back to the dealer next Saturday to get a few other issues sorted out, so I'm wondering if perhaps I should draw this to his attention as well. Cheers, Bart

very very wrong
That's wrong on so many different levels. The guy can't actually have functional eyes.

Excellent! Wish they let you fiddle with spoilers / bodykits too.

Simon, did you get my email requesting price info? Only I haven't heard from you so I was wondering if it had got through. Thanks, Bart

IN car PC
Cheers Legrath. I can see your point about the fixed angle screen. I thought about it some more last night and also realised that you might end up with reflection problems as well. The one thing that does worry me with the non-embedded screen is that some little twerp might decide to do a smash and grab job on it because he quite likes the look of it. The other problem with the fixed screen is that it doesn't fit so will with something else I'd like to do: cruise control. Turns out my Z doesn't have cruise control, and even if it did it'd be limited to 65 mph, so what I'd like to do is hook the PC up to the consult interface and implement some sort of cruise control software accessed via the touch-screen. Whether I'll actually find the time to do this is a whole different matter... but that's what I'd like to do. Cheers, Bart

IN car PC
I'd ideally like to do something slightly different with the screen, in that since I'm just ripping out the existing system I'll have both slots free so what I'd really like is if I could embed the screen in the dash in this position and maybe have some sort of cover I could pull down over it.

IN car PC
Legrath, what are you using for sat nav software? Great setup BTW. Like your centre gauges very much. Do you have some sort of PCI card for the radio or something?

BTW. vijay, that's a nice car you've got there. Why don't you post a bigger picture. Looks a lot like a car I was thinking of buying from a dealer up Newcastle way around September last year.

IN car PC
Actually I'd be pretty interested in doing this. I've just bought my Z, and at the moment it has some after-market speakers. I'm assuming they're all Pioneer as these are what I have on the doors, but don't know about the others. I also have a CD / tape player but they're the world's worst (who the heck are Bijo?!?) and aren't wired in anyway. So I'm wondering what to do for ICE. I was just going to get a CD / MP3 / DAB player but I'd quite like sat nav as well, so now I'm thinking about this whole PC issue myself. That said I don't want to lose my spare wheel (even though I think it's of a smaller diameter than the wheels) and can't afford to give up much boot space as I still need to be able to get my guitar in there. The latter is absolutely non-negotiable. But I will feel like a complete tart if I ever get a puncture and have to call out the AA or whoever to sort it out because my car is too bling for a spare wheel.

Anyone know what's happened to Z Centre?
Yep, I've just been looking at it. Ta.

Ahem!
OTOH.... it just appears to be slow. Man, that car is ugly... actually I'd go so far as to say that car is wrong. But maybe the owner is going in for the Staples to Naples rally this year.

Ahem!
No, maybe it's down for a different reason. DNS is working OK.

Ahem!
Site's down. Reckon it's due to that building power outage it London -- can't get to zcentre.co.uk for this reason either.

Oil Advice and Recommendations
Hi Simon, unless I'm being a complete div (and I have to admit the possibility that I may be) there doesn't seem to be a price list on your website. Can you give me a quote for the Silkolene Pro-S 10w50 please? Think I'll need 10 litres as I've just bought the car and have no idea what's in there at the moment so I'll need to use some of it for a flush. Incidentally at this stage I'm asking for information purposes only because I'm not touching anything on the car until the warranty expires in 3 months. Thanks, Bart

Manual transmission fluid
Thanks vijay, that's extremely useful. I googled for them and came up with everything BUT their UK site, although admittedly I got bored after the first 3 pages of results so maybe they are in their somewhere.

Anyone know what's happened to Z Centre?
That would make some sense: it's happened to us before. I'll give them a call tomorrow. Thanks gents.

Anyone know what's happened to Z Centre?
Dunno, maybe you're right. It's still dead though. Think maybe I'll try again tomorrow. I'm after a new spoiler or a flush panel so I can get rid of my existing one which is pretty water-logged.

Can u jump start from Zeds or will it Fook it up?
Yeah, that's true but it's probably OK if you don't make a habit of it. I had to push start my old Renault once when the crankshaft position sensor died. Cat was fine.

Wtf
LOL. That haircut looks more like it came from 1983. What's that all about?

Anyone know what's happened to Z Centre?
It's gorn from the 'net: http://www.zcentre.com gets you to the website of some weirdo with no design skills whatsoever offering "project management" services AND he's got some crappy applet on there that only works in IE and crashes Firefox so I wouldn't even recommend clicking the link. And actually I wouldn't recommend clicking the link anyway because it's one of the worst sites I've ever seen. People ought to be banned from using the internet for things like that. Google reveals that actually http://www.zcentre.co.uk is where it's at, but the trouble is when I click the link it's just a dead site. Anybody on here got any connection with it and know what's wrong with it? Cheers, Bart
