how much is my zed worth
Yeah, they aren't that all unsociable cars. I once seen a guy with a skyline, blue and white leather interior and he had a child's car seat re-trimmed in the same material and colour. Keep the car and enjoy it for a bit. The value is only going to go up. Peter.

Changing Wheel Studs.......
Just wondered, if i do need to get Spigot rings, what size reducer do i need to get? Obviously the outer size of the spigot is determined by the wheel but what is the inner size needed that goes round the hub part on a zed?

hi all, I'm back, in disguise and gone to the darkside!!!!!!!!
Hey welcome back Trish. Must be a trend of flock coming back to the fold :) Nice car too. Veilside Andrews wheels, quite rare with the centrecaps. I must admit i seen the picture of the dash and thought "how the hel;l did they get that dash to fit in a Zed" lol. Peter

Changing Wheel Studs.......
Yeah, you're absolutely right. If the car has no spigots I'll definitely get some.

Ah, I see. Cool.

Changing Wheel Studs.......
Yeah, that's what I kinda thought might have been the cause myself.

Thats a really unusual Zed mod...........but i like it. :) You gonna be painting it body colour or leaving black? I'd go for body colour so people don't think youve just nicked it off a black GTR and stuck it on. Once seen a Rover with a Subaru spoiler on and tghe mounting points hung over the edges.......wasn't pretty. Peter

Changing Wheel Studs.......
Thanks Batman. I've already ordered a full set for both rears and then after finding one of the front ones had sheared too, a full set for the fronts. may as well just get them all done and be done with it. As someone mentioned in my original thread though, why would the studs snap? someone mentioned lack of spigots but i'm pretty sure my Honda has no spigots on the front and apart from a little wheel wobble at high speeds, the studs haven't snapped. I guess i need to work out why. Age? I really don't want this happening again. Peter

Changing Wheel Studs.......
Thanks guys and appreciate the offer Lexx. You underestimate my lack of mechanical skills Batman. My fear is that if i start to do it myself (after work), and as crap with this stuff as i am, can't finish it then the car is on axle stands on the road. :( I honestly don't think i'd get to a garage without the wheel falling off. I have garages i trust but it would be the cost of a trailer to get it there as well. I think i was VERY lucky to get home without the wheel falling off. That's why i was researching/calling mobile mechanics. Just enquired at a garage at pretty much the top of my street that i forgot was there as it's attached to a little car sales place. it's literally 2 blocks away so if i drive at 10mph i may get there. I'm waiting for a call back so i'll see what he says. Peter

Is that a GTR rear spoiler you have on the car there? Peter

Changing Wheel Studs.......
Yeah Lexx, Got the link thanks and had a read through it but id always intended to get someone else to do the work. I'm not overly good with this stuff and need the car done ASAP as i'll be using it for work. The thing that got me was when the guys were saying "do they need heat to free them" and stuff i really felt like saying "how the hell do i know, you're the mechanic". My fear is that it'll be a reletvely staright forward job, but since i'm at work they'll try to rip me off by saying "ooh, it was a bitch of a job....we had to heat up every nut.......then getting the new ones to fit......ooohhhh" "That'll be £££££ thankyou" I do intend to print off that guide for whoever does the job though so the link is much appreciated :) i also have new wheel nuts too. Got the tuner ones this time. Peter

Changing Wheel Studs.......
Hi Guys, As you may kniow from my previous post i drove back from Luton and when i got home the rear wheel was held on by 2 studs as 3 of them had sheared off. I checked the front and one of the studs must have previously sheared off as it was not rattling around in the centrecap. Due to my total lack of knowledge and lack of mechanical skills, I've tried calling mobile mechanics and they have all said they have not done that job on one of these cars and do not know what is involved? Do they bash out? Will you need heat? Will it need to be a total strip down job? Anyone know how hard it is to do these? Is it something that is relatively easy or a total mare of a job? Peter

Hey Nat, Seen you at the Metrocentre show last Month. I have one of the KITT cars that go there. (me and 3 others started that show ya know.........) I had a White Zed just like yours a few years back and regretted selling it, but had to sell it to build the Fast And Furious Elclipse. I think you know might know my friend Neil with the General Lee from Bedlington? I looked all over to find out who owned the Zed to see if you wanted to sell it lol. Seen your boot install on Gumtree while i was looking. Weird thing is that i'd considered contacting Jurgen myself but i know he doesnt get many Zeds in. I really wanted another white one too but ended up with Yellow. Peter

Guys, this is a big one, I need a shoulder to cry on, and a welder :(
I have a welder you could borrow mate but you'd need to collect it. I know i'm gonna get shot for saying this but..........................Put in a load of Kurust, Get a crap load of readymix fiberglass, fill the thing up, paint it and then take it for an MOT. It might last a month, it might last a year. If it gets through an MOT though...................

Im leaving the club after being stiched up on a purchase
It's a shame to not belong to a forum for that reason, and as said, the majority of guys an gals on here are spot on. Also, it's a bit of a weird statement to make that you are considering another car due to posts on a forum? Surely if you like the car, a forum should have nothing to do with the purchase of said car? I had a bad experience on here once, not long after i first joined with a rear boot perspex strip. Sold it to a local guy from here for £20 to help him out as he said he was desperate. He then puts it back up for sale on here for a ludicrous amount. When i mention it, i just got "tough, you should have charged more for it". Took me all my strength not to go to his house and punch his face in i was so annoyed. Even after that though, the majority of people on here will do anything to help when they can and this forum has an amazing community spirit. Peter

Got my Yellow Zed home today and a few issues - Help needed. (Gearbox, Wheel studs)
Well before I read the post I bought a set of these off eBay. Wanted it done quick so hope they are the right ones. With me being at work it's gonna be a bit of a pain. Was off last week. Typical. http://bit.ly/1qaTL84 Just wanted to get the zed back roadworthy ASAP since it's now my daily driver. Also bought a set of tuner nuts as I can't get my own wheel brace around the nuts in the wheel. Don't know what wheel brace was used before so just hope I can get the rest of them off. http://bit.ly/1qaU1nq Peter

Got my Yellow Zed home today and a few issues - Help needed. (Gearbox, Wheel studs)
Cheers guys. All good advice. I'll get the Studs sorted first so it's drivable then tackle the Autobox issue. Are the Studs for the TT and N/A the same? other than that, car seems spot on. Peter

Got my Yellow Zed home today and a few issues - Help needed. (Gearbox, Wheel studs)
Thanks for all the replies guys. So the studs are easy enough to change then? Yeah, it has aftermarket wheels but not had them off so unsure of spigots. Ideally I'd like to do all the rear studs just in case so how much would this set me back from a Nissan main dealer? (10 studs) So with the gearbox, if it's a common problem how easy is the repair? Don't know if it makes a difference but looks like the car has been off the road for a few years. Peter
