  1. Hi All, After a bit of advice on this................ Got my new Yellow Zed home today and there have been a few issues. Firstly, the Automatic gearbox is holding first geart for a lot longer than it should and then shunts slightly into second. Not sure if its holding onto the other gears longer too, don't think so though and they all seem to change relatively smoothly. Secondly, On the way back there was a massive rattle appearing from the back and steadily getting worse. Managed to get it home, Parked it up and found that several of the studs had sheared off and the nuts were floating around. It's amazing that the wheel didn't just fall off. Does anyone have any studs that i can buy off them or where i can get them? Are they easy enough to swap out? Is it easier to just replace the whole rear hubs, if so, anyone got any of them? The Zed is now my daily driver so i need to get it back on the road ASAP. Any help appreciated. Ps. The car has a dial cluster that appears to be from a TT? Has the turbo part on. Is there any way to see if this used to be a TT with an Engine swap or if it's just had the dials replaced? Cheers Peter
  2. Haha, thats what i had on my last one and am going to go the same way on this one i think.
  3. I had twice that time lol. And yeah mondo, the first one did snap at the indicator. :( Not to worry though, they were a spare set so it was worth a bash. Peter - - - Updated - - - I mean reflector
  4. Little screw............................................F*********K No......I did not. (didn't even see one) To be honest though, the first one managed to come apart (eventually) without removing any little screw. Peter
  5. Well, Off work today so decided to try to convert my old rear lights to the '99 spec version. What a bitch!! The glue is the WORST stuff i have ever worked with (worse than silicone and Sikoflex put together). Couldn't get the cases apart properly. Finally managed to get one of them apart but then cracked the other one trying. They are now in the bin!! That is all. Peter
  6. I reversed over someone in my green Honda Prelude a few years back. He came accross the pedestrian crosssing on his bike outside my house and then straight onto the road as i was reversing off my drive. He was totally in my blind spot and there was a massive thud as i hit him. How could he not see me!! I'd just spent a week making a spoiler for the car out of wood and fiberglass and just had it painted and fitted the day before so it was a custom one off. He smashed the edges of the spoiler off the car. As i looked back, seen his mangled bike under my wheels and then seen him clutching his leg, i looked at the car.......gasped........picked the guy up............ then smacked him down again  ! When i was 19 i had a Nissan Sunny ZX and i hit a lad, again in my street, who ran out of a garden gate at some speed and in front of my car. He went up over the bonnet and landed behind me and there was blood pouring out of his head. I thought i'd done some real damage (no damage to the car thankfully). Luckily he was ok but i later found out that the little Chav had been breaking into someones shed which is why he ran out onto the road as he was being chased. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Peter
  7. Cheers mate. Like i say, i'll see how the Yellow grows on me, if not then i'll paint it white at some point. Peter
  8. Wierd thing is that when i started reading the first post my initial reaction was "hope the Zeds ok?" How bad is that :( Peter
  9. Yeah, i'll be painting the mesh black and looking for new wheels when i get some spare dosh.
  10. after looking at several pictures of the '99 rear wing i REALLY like it and will most likely be after one. Looks very similar to the Lambourghini Diablo original rear wing.
  11. I think it's all linked in at once. The sender in the tank sends an electronic signal to a central pint which displays both the needle and the light. Hence the light should come on regardless of the position of the needle. This happened to my GTO and i just moved the needle. Hapened to a Camaro i had once too. Best keep a fuel can in the car too though, just in case. Peter
  12. Yeah, that was my worry. After looking at some other pictures of a fully '99 spec yellow one i may be able to get used to it. If not though, i can always have it re-painted. Peter
  13. Classified is the best overall option as it gives you the longest leangth of time on ebay along with a "Best Offer" tab which you can alter to automatically accept or decline offers of a certain value. Auction and Buy It Now are limited to a maximum of 10 days but Classified is on for £25 days for £14.99. Just listed my Honda on a Classified listing today Peter
  14. Cheers mate. Biggest mistake of my motoring life selling my last one. It was mint. I'll never have another like that again but at least i can try.
  15. Ideally i'd be looking for one in the UK (europe at a push) The postage and import fees from the states are now ridiculous. Got some parts for KITT and got stung BIG time with the shipping and VAT. had no choice though, needed the parts.
  16. Yeah, its just a long way to go if it turns out to be crap 250 miles there and 250 miles back. I asked him a few questions when if first came on. don't worry, if it turns out to be absolute rubbish i will walk away. It has to be as described in the listing so if there is a load of stuff not right i'll deffo be walking. I just hope nothing goes wrong once i get it home. Peter
  17. Looks like i'll be returning to the fold. Just won the Yellow Zed from ebay this morning and should be going down to get it on Saturday. Don't know if i'm crazy about the colour but seems in canny nick and colours can always be changed down the line. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/121371804044?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 I know i'm taking a huge gamble by buying it without seeing it first but as long as the guy hasn't lied about anything on his listing then it should be a good buy. Peter
  18. How much do the '99 spec spoilers go for these days? Any Replicas around? I know Dave (Car-Mad) on here used to make stuff, i got a full kit and fiberglass stock spoiler from him for my last Zed. He still around? Peter
  19. Cheers Guys, I don't think that looks too bad except for the plate at the bottom for the active aero bit. It was the N/A GTO spoiler i remembered and just found this thread http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?141650-Some-pics-%28v-pic-heavy!%29 I like the way the TT spoiler overhangs the edges though. Peter
  20. A few years ago a guy on here fitted a Mitsubishi GTO Spoiler to his 300zx. I remember quite liking the way it looked. Anyone got any pics as i can't find the thread? Peter
  21. Those wheels look almost exactly the same as the Stock Motegi wheels i had on my prelude before i swapped them out. Peter
  22. WTF?!? The arches look a bit...................well.......................not exactly round!! Other than the arches looking shit, thwe wheels looking shit and a few other little bits, i don't think it looks that bad. Peter
  23. HI guys(and gals), Long time no post. Hope everyone is doing well over here. After selling my gorgeous white 300zx 2 years ago i've finally decided to start searching for another one. That was the worst car decision i have EVER made and regretted it every day since i did it. I'm Ideally looking for something cheap, and/or something i can part exchange my current daily driver with which is a black 1999 Honda Prelude 2.0i Auto tiptronic badged up as a Type S. I guess luckily for me i want the Least popular Zed which is a LWB Auto N/A which should help with the price. I'd prefer White but would consider any colour as a respray could be done down the line when i have more funds. I'd also prefer a 1995 onwards so it has the manual heating controls instead of the digital. I am looking for basic of basics. I've found a few possiblities on various sites but before commiting to anything i'd rather ask here where the Knowledge is. Any help appreciated Cheeers Peter
  24. Nice. :) Wish i was somewhere hot and sunny right now. Peter
  25. I'd have liked to have come but it's a bit far at the min. An hour there and an hour back. Will cost around £35 in fuel alone and I've had to shell out a load of cash on cars this month already. :( Peter
