DIY foglight tinting.
I meant inside of the glass (under/behind it) lol. That being said, a friend of mine took his Camaro rear lenses apart and tinted the inside of the glass and they looked amazing. Peter

Looks great mate. Always looks better to tint the inside if the glass, especially if they are in good condition. Peter

Quick Gearbox question for N/A Auto owners
Oki doke mate. I'll do that too. I'm loosing my wits at the minute with this being my daily driver. When I got up today, started it and it ran lumpy I thought "*****cks, what the feck is up with it now". Doesn't help that I'm a mechanical embarrassment too.

Quick Gearbox question for N/A Auto owners
Ah right. Cheers. I'll give that a go at the weekend. For some reason when I got in the car for work this morning and started it it was running a bit lumpy. Did that for about 2-3 mile then started running ok again?

Quick Gearbox question for N/A Auto owners
Cheers for all the help guys. Must say the TPS voltage did fluctuate between 0.46 and 0.5 a bit? How do I get the idle speed to lower?

Quick Gearbox question for N/A Auto owners
Cheers. That actually makes sense. If the revs are higher to start with maybe that's why it's changing up higher. Maybe I should look into what's making the idle revs high. Peter

Quick Gearbox question for N/A Auto owners
yeah, just got the link and had a quick look. I'm not at all mechanically minded so most of that looks like swahili to me. think i get the general gist though.

Quick Gearbox question for N/A Auto owners
Cheers guys. yeah, already got the TPS checked with a guide Jeff from Zedworld sent me. Set it to 0.46 as recommended (was at 1 when we first put the multi meter on). This doesn't seem to have made any difference at all. Ted, can't seem to read those docs, or the ones you PM'd me. they are too pixelated. Peter

Quick Gearbox question for N/A Auto owners
HI All, As some of you may know i've been having a bit of bother with my Autobox holding gears too long. It's holding every gear to 3500rpm before changing under normal driving (slight jerk from 1st to 2nd). Also, the car idles at 1000rpm under stress (in drive) and 1500rpm in park. I've also noticed that when i take my foot completely off the accelerator at any rpm between say 2000 and 3000 the car will change up a gear. Just wondered at what rpm the autobox should be changing up and what everyones idle speed is? I can't remember what it was on my last one as i never had any issues so never bothered to notice. Peter

Insulation tape!!!! Why didn't I think of that. Well, there's my job on the car for this afternoon sorted ;) Peter

300zx prices
Yeah, sorry. I shouldn't have used the word good (or really the word spec). I basically meant has he any paperwork to show the figures or is it a wire in ebay "chip" that drives his BHP up. When "souper uppers" post their ads for cars like this a lot of them just think of a number and stick it in there with no Dyno readouts Peter

Blowers not working
HI All, I was trying to get one problem sorted at a time but with the imminent bad weather looming over the north east thought i may need to post up about this one now. When i bought the car i noticed that i couldn't get the air to blow no matter on low or high setting. Now my last Zed was a 1995 and had the twisty knob for the blowers and slider for the temperature. Now with my new car being a 1991 it has the full climate thing going on. It worked once when i started the car after being for Petrol for a few seconds then stopped and again at another point for a few seconds and stopped. Now it just won't blow at all. I don't know much about this setup but have a feeling the Zed may have been prone to issues with this since they changed it to a manual setup '95 onwards (seems weird to reel back a car like this to a manual setup for a newer model) I figured if anyone knows what could be wrong it'd be you guys. Any ideas? I fin't it hard enough to get blown these days as it is without the Zed letting me down too :( Peter

Good spec if he can prove the BHP but there are a lot of things i don't like on that car. Interior, stick on chrome letters all over the place on the dash etc. I'm sure it'll be to somebodys taste though but maybe not somebody's wallet. He'll ship it for £5.65 which is great though ;) Peter

The Beast is Back - and excellent mechanic found in Middlesex
That's great news. It is getting harder and harder to find good mechanics these days. A lot of mechanics now are just so used to using scanners that if anything happens that there isn't a code for they just haven't a clue. Peter

Wheel wobble under high speed braking
Drive the car a bit..............keep the braking and see if it eases off. is it a while since you've driven the car? This happened to both my Prelude ane Eclipse after not being driven for a couple of months. it gradually got easier the more i drove but never went away until i changed the discs and pads. Peter

F.A.O any new members
Agree 100% Got a load of help from here for my last Zed and already getting plenty of help with my new one from the fantastic members on here. I'm happy to help anyone in anyway i can. 300zx help aside, this forum is full of top guys (and gals) and the banter is always great. I'm a mod on a different forum and it is not the easy job some people think it is. Peter

Just saying goodbye
I couldn't get the pearl paint right on my last car either Si. something to do with the metal flake in the pearl standing on edge slightl with the metal and lying flatter on the plastic. Had a metal wing and plastic bumper done at the same time with the same paint and when the light hit it looked different. I ended up taking it back twice and then getting the whole car done in Mercedes Arktic White. To be honest, it looked 10 times better than the pearl did too. Peter Ps. back on topic, you should definitely reconsider leaving the forum mate. 99% of people on here are really helpful and friendly.

What did you do to your zed today?
I got my wheel studs all changed over and drove the zed tonight. Peter

who has the best?
I'd say whoever has my old one. That was one awesome looking zed!!

how much is my zed worth
I sold my last white Zed. It was a 1995 N/A Auto but ion MINT condition. I fitted new bumpers, full tasteful bodykit, new alloys, recovered interior in black and white leather, installed a full size ipad in the centre column to replace Sterio and vents then sold the car a few years ago. BIGGEST regret of my car owning life, and i've had some stunning cars, Trans Ams, Camaros, Supras, Mitsubishi Eclipse, Mitsubishi GTO etc. Selling he Zed was my biggest regret. Now trying to get my new one up to a similar standard but i know it won't be the same. Peter
