  1. i once replicated mine from 1/4" plywood...much better and stopped that rear hatch carpet sagging that these cars suffer from with age
  2. Wow..under pressure there :eek:....get a few tonns of hardcore down on your land as a temp measure to be at the very least able to get the car into the garage.

  5. Fantastic lifestyle...As part of my retirement plans ive been paying into a fund which is going to enable me to buy a new one in 6 years time which ime going to use up and down the whole British isles 4 months every 12 and ride powerful motorcycles the other 8:gunsmilie: weldone redwine for doing something other than sitting in the sun drinking beer which in itself is a fantastic pastime too ime led to believe:cool3::cool3:
  6. just put an auto box in:tongue:
  7. yep Gary there is...£50 notes work very well for emissions at MOT time:devil:
  8. Back in the mid to late 90,s i had a new one of these Steve in estate form and loved every second of its ownership:cool3:
  9. not according to the post above...:glare:
  10. If you tap the light feed for the pod gauges into the clock lights then the dimmer can be utilized on the pod gauges too :wink:
  11. Ime sure its not the gap that changes but the tip erodes...for this reason i dont bend the tangs but buy new plugs;)
  12. :thumbup1::thumbup1: nice job
  13. Richard it looks like you might have to turn the cooler into a bed side table:biggrin: woke up this morning to normal British summer time and by 9.30am i was soaking wet and shivering on the job site:lol:
  14. Have you checked the schrader valves on the high AND low pressure side (the 2 filling valves) these can not seat correctly and leak from there...I normaly check mine with a big mouthfull of spit right over the top:biggrin: if it bubbles up its leaking:yes:
  15. Mate do your engine a massive favour on start-up by using this on every surface (cams, crank, ect) just a very small dab and it protects untill oil pressure is built up...
  16. Going to change and become cooler tomorrow thank god...i hate all this high humidity :no:
  17. I always remember him as the voice in trumpton and camberwick green when i was a kid in the 60,s and early 70,s. RIP Mr Cant.
  18. Ignition switch could be faulty Simon...need another person to turn the key and you get at the relay side with a multimeter looking for a live signal if it happens again.
  19. Goodluck on the build Lee...bet its nice knowing the old girl will be tucked up dry and warm this coming winter:)
  20. compress the spring with the spring compresser and put a dab of grease on the grooved and outside of the collet and press it into the valve top with an electrical screwdriver or summit small...the grease will keep them in place till you release the compresser then tap the valve top with a hammer to make sure the collets are seated...dont try with a magnetized screwdriver as the magnet will not let go of the collets....goodluck and btw lee 15 mins lapping a valve in is too much mate and you run the risk of taking the angles off the valves and seat..each one out of a running motor only need a couple of mins max, just to clean the angle up and not grind too much away:wink:
  21. Try avoid cleaning the pistons too much apart from the ring grooves if your not lightly honing and buying new slugs..the carbon build up acts as a natural secondary seal and can help against a wheezing motor down the line;)
  22. I know a domestic air conditioning engineer who delivers part time for extra cash...he is very sharp and a lot sharper than most too..
