sounds like a cambelt idler pully...theres one in the middle on the lower plenum iff you think its from the top.ide get that checked out sooner rather than later as iff a idler bearing goes its going to throw the belt. Also check the belt is not touching the covers or the belt is not running too tight.

iff you find a used set they clean up brandnew in warm soapy water and a brillo...ive cleaned loads that looked knacked and came up great.plus the metal holding brackets after being painted they look new too. Might be worth considering to save a few quid.

Just finnishing my sniff and mooch around (you,ll be amazed what ive found in last 5 years) i found in the corner a metal bucket full of tungsten tooling tips all brandnew,allthough i have enough tooling to last into the next decade LOL i thought ide have a stab and make a bid on them so i was going to offer £30-£50 and sell half and keep half. "how much you after for these" i shouted over..."there sold" he shouted back......I was gobsmacked that he told me he had moved them on at current tungsten scrap prices at a little under £800 :shock: for a bucket of scrap.

Looking at the pics i think its safe to say that i dont think that zed will be making a return from the incident:(....goodluck with any future plans mate.

i love my CC and iff i need to speed up or slow down i use the wheel buttons. try tracing it to the engine bay..will be easier to establish its purpose. Iff your car was a TT then ide say a redundant boost gauge pipe,unless someone has fitted one of those Gay vacume gauges that we used to fit in the 80,s and 90,s that read MPG by how much vacume the motors pulling in which case that will go to the intake side:blushing:

Ive always had the Bosch as for the price they do the job BUT my only grip about them is anywhere near the late 2nd or 3rd year into there life they just fall down dead..its as iff there timed in manufacture to do it. ive had other more expensive batterys that last upto 5 years or more infact i have one now that i had on my zed in 2006 and it still holds a charge,no sticker on it but its deffo not a Bosch.
