I've got a Ford Fusion 1.4tdci it has aircon and leccy windows and returns just under 60mpg. Road tax is £35pa and insurance is reasonable. I have two sons, both taller than me and I'm a big lad plus a giant schnauzer dog and we can all get in plus a bit of luggage too. The driving position is higher than normal and it's easy to get in and out. cheap to service and DIY repairs seem easy enough. Not very sporty but a great carrier with loads of space and very economical. My late wife and our eldest son both had Renault Lagunas as company cars, very nice inside but as the miles piled on they got very unreliable and expensive to maintain.

If you are interested in Calverton as a venue please phone me on 01623-794048 any evening and I will give you the current prices. You can hire the buildings, some accomodation and various other facilities at very reasonable prices. You must bear in mind that booking need to be made early and that the local scout groups have priority. It is possible to hire a bar from local pubs but this is not cheap and you may be better off providing your own booze. If using the barn or hall then bands/disco are permitted. (DJZ60 on the z club site is very good).

I am not aware of any unpleasant scout lady at Calverton. If you would like to explain please pm me on the z club site. I have not been told by the Camp warden of any complaints made about us over the weekend.

I am sorry you feel like that. I was one for 30 years (20 on traffic) so I took my fair share of shit and still do although I've been retired 10 years. People still introduce me to their 'friends' saying "he used to be a copper." You soon find out who is worth talking to. however it doesn't excuse their rude behaviour but does show it works both ways. I find that todays female cops are a lot more stroppy than they used to be and (serious comment) the further south you get the stroppier both sexes become. I am afraid the Dixon of Dock Green days are long gone . The only thing i would add is are you sure that they were who they said they were or maybe they were special constables chucking their weight about .

they used to make an NSU Prinz TT (it wasn't a twin turbo) but it was very quick and was either 1000 or 1200cc engine behind. They were all yellow coloured and had mag wheels. A lot of car in its day.

Also available is Abseiling and a climbing wall and also archery. There is a fee to pay for these facilities as we will have to hire an accredited instructor. I was down by the river with some people last night, one of the guys had a flat tyre on his evo so we're all standing round watching him fix the wheel. In the end the space saver didnt fit cos of the big calipers so he put the flat back on, let the car down and put some gel in it. Theres another guy whos just bought a scooby 320 (one of those blue things with gold wheels), to be fair to him it was black. Anyway hes standing with us looking at the wheel and he says (this is great) " dont worry, u'll be fine, its only flat at the bottom" Idiot! I burst out laughing, its not gonna be flat at the side is it, then noticed he was being serious and none of his mates were laughing so i just crept off to the side with a little chuckle.

I understand that Scalextric (Hornby) have just purchased the rights to make a model McLaren with Lewis Hamilton in the drivers seat. Aech kit will come woth a set of instructions to build your own Ferrari ;)
