NickZ32 and Fightgear have given you the answer. Go in smiling. Ask an open question,"Hey your car really shines, what polish do you use?" Think about the questions before you set out. Get a few supplementarys lined up so you can jump in again. Avoid closed questions, those that get one word answers. If you develop a good opening gambit use it on several different people, you may have heard it before but they haven't (not from you anyway). It won't take long to break the ice but until you get the confidence it can be difficult.

Have a look at post no 6 in the Z Club Shop. Smart shirts and jackets in black or red/white/blue.

If that's the only place you want to live then you need an action plan. Hit all your estate agents that work that area and tell them exactly what you want. Keep on pestering them on a regular basis. Visit the offices personally and try to always talk to the same person. Walk the are street by street and pick out siutable properties. Look at the for sale boards and check those agents. I don't know about your area but where i live you can check what price houses have sold for previously in that location. It will soon be obvious to you if your ideas are bigger than your pocket. Get yourself a mortgage lined up so that you can pounce sraight away. Find yourself a decent solicitor who will move as fast as you want, not a plodder. The more preparation you do the quicker you can move and get an edge over everyone else. Also while you're walking round drop a leaflet through the doors asking peeps to contact you if they're thinking of selling, you may just spur someone into action. If you see peeps stood in their gardens or walking their dogs ask them if they know of anyone thinking of moving. Keep active and don't miss a chance. My late wife did all this years ago when she wanted to live in a particular area and it did work.

never had a cheque stopped so far but I have had a few duds. Always been to see the person and got the money plus the fee the bank charges without a problem.

had 2 and loved them, good owners forum think it's sierraclub.co.uk or something like that, not so prolific in scrap yards now as they used to be and still not worth a lot of money as 'a fast appreciating classic' don't pay too much.

The bloody RSPCA used to come and release town fox's right next to my outdoor pig unit, over the years they took hundreds of piglets and cost us a fortune. They should be shot on sight ( and so should the RSPCA).
