Could it be that Del's the only one to turn up in a Z:ohmy:

failing due to being to low?
Seemed to be the in thing a few years back, but not many new MOT stations are fitting them now, even seen some existing stations taking them out and going back to RBT's. Plate brake testers are ideal for performance and lowered cars, fooked if I can work out how they manage to calculate all the measurements though.

failing due to being to low?
tbh most places should manage. I suspect the garage you took it to either didnt want to test it or that they have older equipment that tends to have deeper rollers etc. Could even have been a class IV/VII bay ie: set up for doing cars and heavier vans.

lol anymore and I will have to hire a minibus. I can pick you up as well if you want, might have to take the beemer to fit everyone in. Save me getting the Z dirty and covered in salt!

failing due to being to low?
Yep that is probably your best bet, look for an MOT station with a recessed hoist ( hole cut in the floor so that the ramp platform is level with the floor surface) Even better if you can find one that also has a plate brake tester, then they wont have an excuse not to test:)

failing due to being to low?
It isnt only the ramps they have to worry about, Some roller brake testers are quite deep, damage can be caused to spoilers etc when the car is driven over them. Like Paul has stated they cant fail the car just because it is low. They can fail it for things like tyres rubbing or components fouling because of the modifications though.
-
failing due to being to low?
What Paul says. If they think they cant get it on the equipment to test it properly or that there is a danger of damage being done then they should refuse to test it.

Take the Z, then you'll be back with plenty of time to spare!

Nope sorry bud, I cant tell if they are linked.

Could be something in either the reverse light or inhibitor circuits shorting out. I will try looking at the gobbledegook wiring diagrams on the online manual, see if that points to anything, just dont hold your breath :)

Xmas
Decided that rather than going for beers, we will have more interest in a midweek meet. So I propose the 16th. Given the fact its a bit baltic I also suggest going for something to eat and because its christmas time, take it up a notch from the usual KFC to a Brewers Fayre or similar. Thoughts on this guys, and location suggestions. Can make the usual KFC if thats what you prefer.

Eliza's Restoration Is On Hold........
Nice motor Dave, I had the hatchback model 10 years ago. Nice comfy car to drive, handled pretty well for its size and could go like shit of a shovel even though mine was only the 180bhp engine. Was good on fuel as well. Just things like faulty electric windows and a leak in the boot let it down
