Old fashioned?
I think the Z does look a little more dated than some of its competitors - Supra, Rx7, GTO ...etc when its completely standard. Things like Clear repeaters, 99spec lights and a change of wheels really make a difference. I also find the stock Front bumper and Rear spoiler really date the car, and changing to 99spec items easily takes more than 10 years of the car. Suddenly that big old jap car looks modern and fresh. But its basic things like the differnece between the cars condition and paint finish that can change anyones perception of any car. Unfortunatly there are a lot of Rough examples of Z32's out there, and this doesnt help the general opinion.

Difference in SWB and LWB hatch sizes?
Yep, spoiler fitment is the same. The hatches are different. I know the one you mean, but cant find it :S

Difference in SWB and LWB hatch sizes?
Depends how you define significantly - They are certainly significantly different in that there is no way one will fit on the other. Never taken any measurements, but every dimension is different including the angles. The rake of the entire rear window is very different, For example, looking out of the rear view mirror in a LWB is a fairly ordinary view, but in a SWB the rear window angle makes it more like looking out of a letterbox.

Rear Spoiler
ah...kk....thats a shame There is http://www.zcentre.co.uk , although tends to be quite expensive for most stuff. For all OEM Nissan parts then see MJP (in traders section)

Zrun11 Meeting Point & Extra Info.....!!!!!!!!
Yep, Murt has listed them above Although not found them to actually enforce it. On the last euro Z run I went on we didnt even have visible stuff like beam deflectors or GB stickers, and they didnt care. They just wanted to talk about how much they liked the cars  lol

600zx - Finally back to work....
Really sorry to see it hasn't worked out Nick. The build has been quite a roller coaster of ups and downs. I reckon the V8 kit option from John sounds like a good investment. Although I hope its not the one Im thinking off......as I know that sold 2 weeks ago.

seats choice
The Recaro's. Stock seats look good, but the Recaro's would look better retrimmed, and they offer a lot more support and they are a lot lighter.

N/A rear subframe
35'ish KG weight difference - the Diff is smaller and lighter and the driveshafts are slightly thinner and lighter, and the lack of hicas. The Diff is also a more popular type (R200), with more aftermarket LSD support than the original R230 TT Diff. Both are Viscous LSD. The real noticable change though is in the Final drive ratio. Your acceleration from zero all the way to top speed is improved...limited to about 165'ish max...but it will get to that speed quicker ! Hard to put a definate number on the difference, but MWZ in the U.S recorded a before and after and recorded a 0.5 sec improvedment 0-60, and the difference would be even greater on the 1/4 mile. Couple of videos here http://www.mwsmotorsports.com/mwstv.htm If you do a lot of motorway driving then keep in mind that it will run at about 300rpm higher when cruising, which will have a bit of an affect on mpg. I converted my Slicktop, and im very happy with the conversion. I dont have any before and after comparison, and I have a lot of other modifications and weight savings at the same time, but it feels much more alive and responsive compared to a typical TT of similar power. Silverbullet is the only other person I can think of that converted his who may be able to give a direct before & after comparison. Not sure who else has done it.

99spec spoiler mounting
Did you buy it yourself or have receipt for it ? Sorry to sound like Im doubting, its just Im very suprised.....the last price being branded about for it was 1200 new, whereas the replica's have always been about 200. Before Car.mad and Zcentre made their copies, we were getting them from Ionic Dynamics in the U.S, which is where all the U.S specialists get theirs from too. Nobody even lists the Genuine item.

99spec spoiler mounting
I dont believe we have any genuine 99spec spoilered cars in the club. Sudesh, Gio and Craig_David have 99specs, but they dont have the spoiler. ??

Using a cheap N/A auto as a daily driver?
Absolutely, 'Norm' = generally/typically/on average..etc , but always inspect. Key areas being Rear sills, front crossmember, behind rear bumper, arch lips, engine bay strut area and battery tray. The targa drains that exit at the rear sills (and another at the front) can become split or blocked from road debris or aftermarket side skirts, allowing water into the inner sill skins. Quite often any corrosion seen on the outer sills, is far worse on the inner skins. Some of the Jap stuff (non-z) have a lack of Undersealing - Mitsubishi's, some toyotas...etc , But all Z's Import or UK come with the same undersealing. Its always a good idea to redo the undersealing to recover any damage to it from road debris.

Using a cheap N/A auto as a daily driver?
There is a certain amount of luck involved, mostly down to how the car has been treated its entire life and at the cheaper end of the market there is very little room for luck. My previous Z's were daily drivers and were highly reliable, more reliable than my much newer Daily drivers and company cars even. The only real downside being fuel costs. Like all cars, there are common faults, spending money on prevention can certainly help with any reliablity worries. The NA is slightly more economical than the TT in regular driving, but a lot more economical if your very heavy footed. If you want to go NA, then I would go SWB NA Manual, lost of fun. If you must have rear seats then the LWB NA Manual is a great car too. To be fair, yours is a UK, and unfortunatly this is the norm for UK models. Most Imports are like new underneath. Ofcourse some Imports are suffering from rot (those imported very early on or badly repaired accident damaged), but it is not the norm for them yet.

clutch bleed help
No. 18 , not quite visible in pic - Clutch Master cylinder http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=26120 Small plastic resevoir with black cap. 2 bleed points, one by the Hicas solenoid above drivers headlight, and the other on the slave cylinder on the gearbox. Ripping out all that excess metal piping and replacing with a single braided line from Master cylinder to Slave cylinder makes bleeding a lot easier.

Engine Rebuild!
Yep, unfortunatly there's not going to be any external visual evidence of internal changes. Have to be careful with Paperwork too, depending on the date of when it was done - that engine/parts may not nessasirly still be in the car.
