  1. I cant see how removing the electical load from Hicas would affect the Idle....its a hydraulic system anyway on phase 1 and phase 2 cars, with only the ECU signal for electrical input/output. Have you put many miles on it since you removed the Hicas ? as presumably you disconnected battery while removing it, which would then reset ECU...and it need about 100miles for its re-learning curve (which could affect idle in the meantime). There is always the option of adjusting idle, but thats really just masking the problem, rather than finding the cause and fixing it. Unless it had been altered previously, and now needs setting back to what it should of been.
  2. um, you already asked that this morning http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=46410 ?
  3. I think the skirts are Stillen Type III's ? http://www.stillen.com/Sportscars_detail.asp?cat=3&subcat=149&Brand=&id=22869&page=2
  4. If you want it to look brand new for the shows then, I would say definatly ditch the stock front bumper. IMO is dates the car, and the 99 Spec is a great Updated replacement. http://www.directcircuit.com for the Correct Light diffusor stuff. About £30 (including delivery), but it is an exact match and pre-cut. Greg's Red Zed - Lowered with 99 spec front :
  5. As summer is slowly approaching, I need to sort out my Aircon. Aircon works perfectly fine when I turn it on, except for a loud deep whirring noise from engine bay, that changes note with engine RPM. So I just use it in 'eco' mode, which makes no noise. I would guess its the Aircon pump bearings or something like that ? If replacing the Pump...would the system then need to be regassed ?
  6. do u mean Jim WOLF technology (JWT) Ecu ?
  7. One Piece prob info http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=33370&highlight=piece+prop (members forum only)
  8. Ztech can supply and fit proshaft support bearing for £210, if you wanted to fit yourself then give Ryan a call about supplying one.
  9. Welcome Back Dave. Glad you had a good time.
  10. I would'nt dismiss SWB Manual with Targa's. Much easier to find (but still rare), more pose-factor and Im not sure if the Hardtop offers any noticable advantages ? The Targa setup is'nt like a regular Convertable, where you have a massive increase in body flex and scuttle shake.
  11. Yep, LHD means battery on opposite side to Jap and Uk spec.
  12. Yep, thats a Stock Phase 3 Onward Spoiler (9/93 - 10/98) Brake light in perspex panel : http://www.zcentre.co.uk/spoilers/zc007ab.htm I think its aftermarket only.
  13. here you go http://www.ttzd.com/tech/diagnostictech.html Performing this test will give the ECU error code. BTW - My Heater fans come on Full speed.....BEFORE the car has reached normal running temp(ie. Earlier than you should be flooring it). Also check under the bonnet where the Stock boost gauge vacumm pipe connects. You say its not connected yet....could be a boost leak instead of safety mode, depending on how its disconnected.
  14. First things first...do an ECU check. Its real easy, takes 2 mins. Its going into safety mode for a reason, and you cant fix it until you know the reason.

    LMAO
  16. Code 34 is indeed Det sensor, it wont prevent it from starting, will only put it in safety mode (reduces boost, retards timing slightly). Im unsure if the ECU will give a series of Fault codes or if its only one at a time. You can try bypassing the Det sensor for now, by using a 1 Meghm resistor at the Det sensor connector (see http://zhome.com/ZCMnL/PICS/detonationSensor/detonationSensor.html) It could be the PTU (Power Transistor Unit), its job is to amplify the ignition signals from the ECU to each of the individual coilpacks on the Spark plugs, and is a common failure in Series 1 zed's. The Coilpack connectors can also be a weak point themselves , taking abuse from the engine bay heat. Have you removed each spark plug and tested for sparks when turning ignition ? 17. Welcome ! Whereabouts are you located, there is probably a meet near you coming up soon. (check forum meets section). I think I know why its not starting, your battery is missing ;) (sorry  )

you cant get it insured yourself becuase you lost your liscence...is that right ? Get a Parent to Insure it on a tempoary basis, should cost peanuts. You'll need insurance anyway for people to take people on test drives..etc ...and just put 6 months tax on it.
  19. Ouch..get yourself a Aftermarket boost guage immediatly...it suicidle to drive around on increased boost without one. One you have one, you can then start to work out whats going on with it.
  20. gutted for you bud. You must be fuming. Hope you can get it all sorted without too much cost or hassle :(

Also, as all NA's are Imports, an NA is likely to cost more to insure than a UK TT. Rediculous. :slap:
  22. and "Liverpool Victoria"
  23. ahh..well I suppose we can forgive you ;) See you at a future meet soon :D

If your Over 25 (they might have changed it to 30 now), then Houghtons is the Recomended Club Insurer. See traders forum section for details. I guess some Insurers differ in wether they specialse their pricing for NA or TT.
