Heavy tailgate
The weight will make a difference, but its mostly the stock spoiler as Pk1 described. Once spoiler removed, the tailgate tries to smack you in the face everytime you open it.

Buying Questions and Advice
Yes, all are VVT. Up to 1995 on imports, when they dropped it for emissions. Not sure about the Direct injection bit. Bose - Very few will still have the stock headunit or sound system in. Better than most cars of same age, but not as good as you can get now ofcourse. The KPH/MPH conversion depends on how they did it. Many wont even be converted as they go through the MOT without it.

Buying Questions and Advice
Welcome :D Hard to put a price on condition. Most 3k cars are going to be rough, thats not to say somebody wont have seen them prices for this and put there better example at this price. Its also not to say that one for £5-£6k is'nt going to be overprice tat either. But if I had to give a price, I would say £4k minumum, ideally £5k+ Try and buy one from an Enthusiast on here. Japs have Square rear number plates, UK's have fogs in rear bumper. Thats perhaps the easiest way to tell from a picture(of the rear). If its an Non-turbo or SWB(2-seater) then thats also Jap only. Red and Black are the more "popular" choices. I wanted a Black one, but I'm looking to move to an non-stock colour next. The first model year was 1989. I would'nt worry about 1990 model. Late 92 onwards (series 2) has some changes to the Interior trim, seat belts and Climate control system. Mine was completley standard when I bought it. I viewed 6 cars. 3 were modified in some way, 2 were compltetely stock.

Did you choose a zed - or you just didn't have any more money?
Wanted a 300zx for years and years, since they were still in production in the UK. I only got the chance to buy one, once my Wife started driving and I could then have my toy. Could of bought something a lot more expensive, but the Zed was the car I wanted, and it left all that money for Treating it (where did all that money go !?). I love it, and there is'nt anything I would buy for less than 25k (second hand, probably 50k+ new) that I would replace it with, and I would rather spend £25k on the zed tbh. Intend to keep it for as far as I can imagine, making changes to it as I go. My daily driver(or the "wifes" car, as she puts it;) is the car I'd swap and change over the years) yes, They are cheap now/currently (too damn cheap) , but when new they were very expensive. Joe public generally does'nt have a clue what it is. They usually just stare and point, before asking. :) Nissan prejudice - Yes, have a friend who looked down on the Badge. But a brief history on the Z-car range, Racing heritage and the cars the Zed rivals and he soon changed his mind. Its a shame that Nissan are only generally known for their dull but reliable hatchbacks and saloons in the UK, they are so much more than that.

Hi Im NEW!!
A competent alarm installer can wire up any Alarm to work with any Turbo timer

timewasters!!!
The Trouble is, all these wannabe owners, see the Rough examples popping up on Ebay and the likes for a lowly £2.5k(most never actually sell for this, either by reserve not met or the seller removes car before auction end), and expect them to all be so cheap.

NZR: OMG! 12 pot calipers!!!!!
Jeesh  They would probably lock the brakes up as soon as you touch them and send you skidding off the road into a ditch

front wiper motion
It could be that they need removing and refitting on the splines at the right angle. If this is the case then it should also be travelling too far to the right (perhaps hitting the window side trim) when it gets to the top of its sweep ?

differences between uk spec and jap z's
Unfortunatly...he is correct. With the 300zx, Uk or Jap, makes no real difference in terms of Maintenence and repairs.

Why just Z32
I agree the 300zx.co.uk name is misleading, but not sure I agree about catering for Z31's. The Zclub already handles the Z31 to the point where an additional forum would serve no purpose and the differences between both the cars is so extreme that the Z31 knowledge would'nt extend to them. Also associating the Z32 with the Z31 any further than its name suggests might be best avoided. :x:

differences between uk spec and jap z's
yep, as above. There are difference, but minor stuff. AndyP's site is the source for info on diffences (http://www.300zx.org.uk) but its not working :(

ZCentre wings..
Bolting on is'nt a problem, but becuase its Fibreglass it will usually require further work to ensure it fits flush with equal gaps..etc Plus the prepping for painting.
