  1. I have both, and there really is a massive difference at all speeds! NA is more economical around town but TT more economical on motorway journey(if you stay off boost). Can't garauntee it will be any more reliable (I've found both to be very reliable), but you dont ever have to worry about the cost of new turbos with an NA. The NA has all the looks but is cheaper to buy, cheaper to insure (if you go to the right places) and a bit safer for those not used to RWD power.
  2. KYB do make springs (K-flex) but I did'nt think they made them for the 300zx. Which is why everyone goes with Eibach springs on KYB shocks. You may find that whatever springs are on there are a lot lower then Eibachs....you certainly would'nt scrape speedhumps with eibachs. The tein flex is a superb setup, but at almost three times the stock spring rate they wont offer the GT Comfy ride I think your after even on lthe very softest settings. Stock spring rate : 2.8 kg (156 lb) Eibach spring rate : Progressive Front (185-250 lb) Tein flex : 8kg/mm (336 lb)
  3. ..or remove the ugly stock one and go smooth or aftermarket ;) 90% of them get damaged on removal, and those that have resprayed them find they start to crack again after a couple of months.
  4. I'd like to meet you bud :D and quite a few others.. I've met most of you all(Regional Meets, National Meets..etc), trouble is at the bigger events its not always easy to put (forum)names to faces
  5. This is a series 2 PTU. It its a different shape and design to a series 1 http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CP&Product_Code=22020-00Z32
  6.    Hmm...well before puchasing the zed I was looking at the Audi A4 V6 Quattro, Bmw e36 M3, Bmw e34 M5, Porsche 928gts.... but I've changed my mind since and it would probably be a V8 powered 240z/280z or a very early Mustang (prob eleanor lookalike) for myself, and something prestige for the wife.
  7. Colourcoded front section - Looks good, a popular change. I'd personally keep the small number plate in original location though.
  8. We no longer have an official Insurance trader, but try: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=53112
  9. £650 Fully comp. 26yrs old. 5yrs NCB. 4k a year. 2nd car. Admiral...but its due for renewall so will be shopping around.. They are no longer our Club Insurer
  10. I still do D,E,F. Sometimes "C" too :D ...and then quite a bit more ! (apparantly ;))
  11. Having seen pics of the conversion done to other cars, it was a concern. But I went ahead and did it on the zed...and you can see the red needles perfectly :D
  12. I guess it depends on how much insurance you currently pay..to decide wether its worth the cost. Most owners over 30 pay less than £400 a year Ins on a limited mileage classis policy.
  13. Take the 12v Directly from the the Battery. 8 Guage cableing should be fine with an inline fuse no more than 50cm from the Battery. Take the earth from a good chassis point in the boot. Make sure the Invertor is regulated to keep a constant 12v......voltage spikes from the engine especially during engine starts can range from 6v to 18v. p.s Have you checked the Space save tyre space, its not as deep as you would expect and has a big metal mount in the middle of it.
  14. Its not a true Double din. You could always get the fibreglass and filler out .....
  15. Run your Power cables down one sill, under the carpet. speaker cables down the other side, and your VGA & USB cables through centre console. Centre console is very easy to remove. Start with the Stereo DIN cover (2 screws at top, clips at bottom), that will reveal 2 more screws for the gearstick surround area. There is also a screw under the ashtray. Then you remove that piece to discover a couple of more screws, plus some under the thin carpet in centre armrest storage space. Let me know if I can be of any help with the Carputer side of things.
  16. Its the springs that dictate the ride height, not the shocks. Do you know what springs it has? Im sure we have members with lowering springs and 19" wheels. If you have a particulaly low spring height, then I would try a set of Eibachs. p.s LOVE those wheels !!
  17. Its not about freedom of speech, its about the simple fact that he broke a rule in the AUP . The Ban was then increased from 1 week to 1 month due to an offensive email to Mac (another AUP rule broken). The AUP is set-out and on display to all members. Its there for many reasons and is simple to follow.
  18. Congrats :duffer:  @ all the comments above
  19. Our 300zx.co.uk Traders mostly Import from the States and Japan, but with them you get the Sales and after-sales Support & Warranty from a fellow Zed enthusiast in the UK. Most often the price difference is worth it for the extra Support and Reassurance.
  20. Reminds me of that Smartcar roadster thing
  21. There is'nt an official 3k service schedule, but a lot of us change our oil and oil filter every 3k
  22. If your on stock ECU now and have fuelling problems, then that should be rectified before fitting. Is it Running Rich or lean ?
