  1. or your car is'nt running at 100%.
  2. NA will kick a stock TT arse until its turbos kick in ;) Have you lowered your engine compression ratio (Certain forged pistons and thicker head gaskets will give lower compression ratio to enable you to run higher boost). Lower compression ratio will would make off-boost power suffer. Have you had the car fully mapped on a dyno yet. Mapping is the key to good power across the range. If you have had it mapped, do you have a dyno printout so we can see the curve and low rpm power numbers ?
  3. First thing to do is make sure the car is running properly. You dont want to play around with increasing power until you know everything is working correctly first. There are many factors that can affect power - Boost leaks, safety mode, Running too rich from poor o2 sensors or Temp sensors, Incorrect timing, Clogged Fuel dampners/regulators...etc Fixing many of the above will also have other benefits such as improved fuel economy. Best bet is to drop the car off at a specialist for a health check.
  4. Stock TT definatly quicker than a stock Focus RS. I had a play with one about a year back on motorway and I was much quicker, he would'nt give up, and I kept leaving him over and over. Stock TT is quicker at all speeds, 0-60, mid range and top end
  5. A stock TT wouldn't have much of a chance against a 360hp NA engine in a 1100kg car.
  6. I think there are different engine choices for the cerbera. either way, nice kill
  7. Yes you have it. Its built into the stock camshafts and cam pulleys, with a solenoid at the back. If you have stock cams and pulleys then there is'nt really anything for the engine builders to do when they rebuilt engine except plug them back in when they fit engine. Dont know anything about the AEM, but yes I expect it would need to be programmed or it wont send the signal to the VTC solenoids. Its only on the intake side, not intake and exhaust like the Vtec system and is not noticeable like the Vtec system which is much more aggressive. Kicks in at 4900rpm standard, but can be raised up the rev range with higher boost.
  8. where are the pics ?
  9.
  10. Auto turbos are smaller. They make less power but spool up a little quicker to try and make up for the slushbox.
  11. wow   !! Is that the oil cooler in the nose panel for the dry sump ? Whats the two red buttons for on dash ?
  12. Prices vary so much....as does quality...usually together, but not necessarily ! Make sure you have seen the work done by the bodyshop on other cars beforehand. I seriously wonder how some of them getaway with the poor quality.
  13. Stock turbo's are T25 Hybrids called tb02/22. Wheel trim:T2 Inducer dia: 1.57"/40mm Exducer dia: 2.02"/51mm Housing:TB22 CFM: 304 max Wheel trim:T22 69 Exducer dia: 1.53"/38.9mm Inducer dia: 1.85"/47mm Flange style, Housing size: T25
  14. Wiseco are by far the most popular Forged piston choice for the 300zx. They use standard compression ratio. You wont need new Rods. Especially with stock tubs. Standard are Forged anyway so you can save money there. All of the Turbo companies in the UK do the same too.
  15. wont fit 300zx. They are top feed. 300zx uses side feed.
  16. Except in the case of the 300zx, whereas it is not listed in the Emissions database so is tested for mot as a non-cat equipped car. After 95 the car must be tested as a Cat equipped vehicle wether it appears in database or not. - pre95 for the 300zx there is no requirement for a Cat for Mot.
  17. You mean the one at the back of the gearbox ? If so, then no not that one. Its a L-shape bracket that bolts to the Back of the engine, and the bellhousing of the gearbox bolts up to it. There are 2, one is the same for auto and manual, but 1 is specific for manual only.
  18. What Manifolds are you running ?
  19. Cheapest option is to get your stock tubs reconditioned. Expect to pay around £300-£400 each at somewhere like Turbo Dynamics depending on there current condition. Might just be able to get 360 bearings for that price too. You can DIY it yourself....Not something I would recomend, but I know people have done it successfully, and there are other companies that can do it cheaper, but I could'nt recomend Turbo Dynamics highly enough. Bigger tubs start at about £1200+ for the pair, look at importing from the states if you go that route.
  20. Just that there are differnet ways of doing it. You can replace the 10ft of hydraulic metal pipework with a single 3ft piece of Stainless steel braided hose. and you dont really need all the extra slave vacumn tank stuff. Its fine without it. If you have the wiring looms then thats fine, but dont worry if you have'nt as it can be done without replacing loom.
  21. If you went for bigger tubs, thats when it starts getting really expensive..... becuase you will then need/want Bigger injectors, Intercoolers, Manifolds, Downpipes, ECU remap..etc ...but then you'll hate to put your engine back in and the old tubs let go 500 miles later. You could just get them sent of to somebody like Turbo Dynamics to be inspected. for piece of mind.
  22. about £2.5k Stick to Standard HG, or possible the Cometic versions though. No need for metal. You keeping the stock tubs ?
  23. 555's are purple yes. So are some stock injectors too though, depending on the year.
  24. You cant rely on the colour.
