  1. HID's consume a lot of power, have the engine running and try again. Flickering and switching off is what happens if you turn them on with a low battery. Coming on 2nd setting only is correct. 1st is side lights (in your bumper) and 2nd is dipped beam. If your stock bulbs are no longer working, then sounds as if you may have blown a fuse, which would mean its wired up wrong or allowed the positive wire to touch an earth/metal. I've not followed your HID problems though. It should be as straight forward as fitting regular bulbs. The 2 HID wires which should be spades should just plug into the stock Headlight bulb connector and thats it. If somebody has messed around with the stock bulb connectors previously then its just a case of connecting up the HID Positive to the positive feed and earthing the negative, which can be either the stock earth wire or you could just earth it to the chassis anywhere.
  2. Main Beam - H1 UK Dipped Beam - H3 JDM Dipped Beam - H3c You need H1. Tbh, Im suprised you say yours are like driving with a candle. The Stock Main beam is actualy pretty good, its only the stock Dipped beam thats not. With HID's in the dipped beam the output is fantastic, I dont even feel the need to use High beam even in the darkest country lanes. Sounds like the insides of your headlights are very dirty, which is a common issue.
  3. lol Happy Birthday
  4. I dont mind the omega, but a car that size is not going to be as economical as a smaller one. Abi will have her own car for hauling the kids around.
  5. Thanks. The cars I was considering myself were : Audi A4 1.9 tdi VW passat 1.9 tdi VW Golf mk4 1.9 tdi Bmw 318d/320d/325d (e36) But most of them are stretching the budget, so may end up with a rough example, and Im not sure what sort of mpg I can expect on the motorway consistently from them. Bargain !
  6. My mum has only ever owned metro's for the past 25 years. She has never owned or driven any other car  , probably the main reason Im not a fan :o But too low mpg for my needs anyway, and cars that small are geared for town rather than motorway.
  7. Im after a new daily driver. About 1k cash budget (no more loans/finance for me) I'll be doing just under 100 miles commuting each day, which is nearly all motorway so I would like 50+ motorway mpg. Suggestions ?
  8. I would wait for the Twinz bumper
  9. They are a lot more expensive than the 99spec bumper (600pound delivered when I looked into it), and while I really like the lip on them, I would never buy one as its fibrglass which just cant be compared to a urethane bumper like the OEM 99spec is.
  10. Welcome fella. Good to see a potential new South West Member. What model are you after ? There are several varations. Body style - LWB(2+2) / SWB(2+0) Engine - Twin Turbo / Non-Turbo Roof - Targa/Slicktop/Convertible Most Z's in the UK are Imports. All UK models are 2+2 Twin Turbo Targa. Imports available in pretty much every combination. 2+2 only available as Targa, while the rarer 2+0 also available in even rarer slicktop (Lighter, stiffer) and Convertible (summer cruising) versions.
  11. I was told to only clean leather with the same stuff you would clean your own skin with. I've always used baby wipes.
  12. Steering wheel on straight ? The Hicas system will throw an error and shut down if the wheel is not on straight after a couple of miles as it thinks you have been travelling in a constant turn and realises something is wrong.
  13. Tein sell upper pillow mounts for standard strut type shocks.
  14. If you like it thats all that matters. Im sure nobody thinks it looks bad, just some preferred it before. If you were after something different though then it looks to me just like all the other aftermarket spoilers Z's that everyone has. I prefer the 95 oem spoiler you had before, and it is very unique,. My 2nd fav spoiler but then Im picky, 99spec and smooth the only other two I like. Not everyone likes that style either. Cant please everyone, but yourself.
  15. another Z with a mankini on ! :) LOL Tidy looking example Well known ex-forum members car ;) Car has gone to scrapyard now though.
  16. I really cant see it being legal..and if it is, then it shouldn't be. Thats a deathtrap to other drivers with lights and sun reflecting of it.

  18. since were on teh subject..some more pics from my pc :
  19. Probably best to mention if arch rolling or any other mods required for wheels fitment to clear, in case others base their fitments on what is posted here without realising. Maybe say by how much car is lowered by and include pics that shows stance.
  20. Was that with or without torque conververtor ? TQ must be about 15-20kg on its own. Manual box is lighter than Autobox, especially with the TQ still in.
  21. pricey? I was thinking that looks like a very good price for a UK TT if its as clean as it looks in the pics.
  22. Complete engine is around 250-270kg. Gearbox I dont know but having carried quite a few I would take a guess at around 70-90kg
