  1. Interesting, Never seen a 2+2 Carbon or FIbreglass tailgate before. I'd paint it if it was me. CF is ugly. You use it for its Weigth saving and Strength properties, not looks.
  2. Turbo failures ? The same as any Turbocharged car - Most turbos are made by the same big manufacturers, in the case of the 300zx its Garrett. Average turbo lifespan is typically anythign from 70k-120k There are plenty of reviews and info on the net about both models. No real point asking a 300zx forum which they prefer though., but If you want personal opinions then the GTO is ugly and overweight. Its interior is a bit on the cheap side and its harder to work on than a Z. Its 4wd grip is an advantage in poor weather, but more of a disadvadvantage in dry weather. I've only ever worked on and driven one GTO. Driving experience was "ok" from what I remember, but was a pig to work on, vowed not to touch one again.
  3. Pull glovebox out (2 bolts on bottom hinges and 1 screw in top right holding bracket). , then check its not the heater or aircon boxes movement. You will be able to get to them and give them a good wiggle. Could also be to do with the EFI loom that comes through the firewall there and passes down to the ECU.
  4. Ofcourse the vert does not have one, as it has no rear washer lol
  5. Says it only handles power increases up to 25%, which is nothing - Similar to stock clutch even and less than an RPS Street and a lot less than the RPS max.
  6. LWB - Shares the same front washer bottle SWB - Washer bottle is in the boot
  7. No, the original stroseks are fibreglass also.
  8. Seen 145 (Satnav GPS) in a NA Manual, and that was not flatout, there was an Evo in the way that was holding us up and wouldn't move over. I'd expect it to go 150-155 The NA auto is noticably slower than a NA Manual though, but geared slightly longer - hard to say how the auto top speed would compare to the Manual.
  9. Clutch bleed point. Get rid of it and all its pipeing, repalce with a single braided hose from Master to slave - easier to bleed. edit : which sounds like yours has already had done.
  10. Very cheap and Plasticky looking. The smoked versions look better than the clear version (helps to hide some of the cheapness)
  11. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1990-NISSAN-300ZX-strosek-replica-Widebody-SWB-N-A_W0QQitemZ250611310436QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomobiles_UK?hash=item3a59991f64
  12. UK cars had a Manual gearbox oil cooler as standard. Imports do not. Required? No, not in my opinion.
  13. RPS Max is supposed to be rated to 579 Ib/ft torque
  14. Yes, very common upgrade, and yes the gauges will show correctly. There are some compatability differences between series. If you want a straight forwards plug n play replacement then get UK clocks from the same series as your car. (series 1 - 1989-1992 , series 2- 1992-1993 ..etc)
  15. The response is pretty bad english and makes no sense - "They wear out fast, so you will get leaks" lol wtf Not sure what the seller is talking about, but in many cases there is a lot of rivarly between suppliers (AMS are a manufacturer and supplier). Certain Suppliers and manufacturers have deal with others Manufactures and Suppiers about which products they supply. All gets very political. AMS have a bad rep in some circles about how they go about their business, in regards to the copy and remanufacture of products, but thats how business works and their products seem to be of good quality.
  16. or just fit a TT speed sensor gear to the NA speed sensor.
  17. 99spec - Better deal - http://www.dta-motorsport.com/marktplaats/versionr.htm
  18. Well if the new tailgate will need work done then may as well just finish your own ?
  19. No Wiper properly smoothed >>>>> Wiper >>>>>> No wiper with bung
  20. This is a Z32 Forum, but one of our Traders - MJP - can supply New Z31 parts. Check out Zclub.net for the Z31 forum.
  21. There is a 2" piece of hose with 2 clips on at the front of the plenum under the throttle linkage in the centre, it joins the two halves of the fuel rail together. Its the most difficult to reach. Smithys/DTA's Fuel kit includes replacement but Zcentres does not. If you do source your own fuel hose instead of buying a kit, then ensure its the correct hose - labelled either as Fuel Injection or High pressure fuel hose, very important.
  22. Have you had the car inspected to find the cause of overheating and any damage done ? Jimmer (bristol) is highly respected for his Z engine rebuilds., and there is Zedworld in Tamworth who are a well established Z specialist.
  23. Yep, as Si said, its very likely the rubber gaitors are simply split. If the split is at the front then when the gear lever is angled backwards (ie 2nd and 4th gear) the split is opened up. Its suprising just how much sound these rubber gaitors block from the drivetrain. You will need to : - Remove the Stereo surround console (2 screws at top under plastic covers and 2 screws below air vents under the plastic strip), Clipped in at bottom. - This will give you access to remove the centre console around the gear lever (2 screws at top. and another under the Ashtray). Clipped in on one side. - Remove gearknob. Screws off, can be extremely tight on some cars. and underneath you will find the two Rubber gaitors.
  24. Thats what I mean..all the material I've ever used in the past is pre-backed.
  25. If I was minted and buying myself a nice new Aston, I'd probably pick one of those up for the Wife/Daughter. Funky looking baby aston for people who can spash the cash.
