Sidelight & Indicator Switchback Bulb.....Updated !!
The headlight halo was off for sure when it was tested however, the switchback 6 months ago in it's mot didn't work as it does in this update. It flashed white/yellow/white/yellow under indication with the sidelights on ? Whereas now i believe it works better and that's yellow/off/yellow/off when sidelights are on as indicator is king. I am keeping the halo in the headlight so based on your expertise i am ok for next years mot. Uk regs do not allow a dual function light - so it's actually mentioned then ?

Sidelight & Indicator Switchback Bulb.....Updated !!
Would the red highlighted bit be more in regard to a loose earth perhaps, ie a tail light flashing as well in the next door chamber under indication ? The halo in the headlight i did in fact turn off for the test as it is a coloured remote controlled halo, i have chosen white for that on the vid as in real life it does have a blue tinge but i do believe this is acceptable for mot test so next time i shall leave it on.

Gutted!
I think Simon fyi on the HM revenue and customs site there is a part that applies to the refund of charges from defective, damaged or whatever goods purchased from outside the EU, although in this case i don't see how getting that small part back will appease you.

I thought it strange when you said you'd sourced some SWB ones as i am always looking. Also the SWB is much more common over there so you'd think they'd know the difference. Not sure you know but i have the LWB ones fitted without much issue and as a consequence weren't much coin. I thought i had found some earlier this year but the guy couldn't get them off the rear bumper so just sent me the front pair :headvswal.

Sidelight & Indicator Switchback Bulb.....Updated !!
I often tell my examiner 'my ideas' if you like and he often replies 'it's not in the test'. I have read this one line that i think vaguely might apply to the switchback 'delay' and it's All lights must light without excessive delay. As far as i can make out there is no mention as yet of these kind of lights, the regs are more concerned with a secure switch, not obscured, same height, etc. Also, i read it mentions colour, white is obviously the one and only to have but also it can have a blue tinge and because my halo's are currently the rgb type they do maintain other colours still in the smd when white is chosen on the remote as seen on the above video, so i now believe that these are fine also but i can turn them off if i so wish.

Sidelight & Indicator Switchback Bulb.....Updated !!
Ooooh you do rain on my parade !! I actually quite like the delay Graham and have seen it on modern cars, not sure on it's legality though retro fitted but expect it cannot be any different, wonder if it's to switch back within a second or so to meet regs ? If i do need a sidelight on at all times at the front then i'll just pop the bulb back in the fog housing for the test and then remove again. I do have some different modules and these switch a tad quicker and as you well know an instant switchback would see a normal relay used :thumbup1:.

Sidelight & Indicator Switchback Bulb.....Updated !!
I fit my switchback bulbs about 18 months but having in the most reason MOT the examiner tell me it's discolored i thought i'd better give it some attention. What he meant was with sidelights on and you indicated it flashed amber/white/amber/white so gave the impression the colour was wrong as it alternated fast. Now it flashes amber/off/amber/off just like side repeater and mirrors in my case and then when signalling is finished it returns to white or sidelights. I did buy some new bulbs but they're no better than the first ones i bought and worked the same, i have actually fit an in-line delay relay module to make it work as you see. Whilst i was happily soldering away today i have put in the wiring required to run a similar thing as i may or may not put something in the headlight when they get some treatment over the winter which is mainly 99 spec inserts. Yet another speedo query!
All what you state is true but if he's anything like me you want it as well, even though i have aftermarket gauge and an ebc and yes to be fair the stock gauge is useless when a car is capable of 20psi but the needle swings about ! And gives that balance against the oil pressure gauge. My S4 or S5 clocks i bought complete with boost gauge cannot of been from a S6 facelift 2k as they were the 'normal' black faces. Now it's a bit of a mystery why i even have them at all as the boost was left off as we know on the later series, was it an optional extra that nobody bothered with ? I have never really thought about them before but it seems i was lucky in acquiring such an item. I am always looking out for S4 clocks and i must admit i have never seen another with a boost gauge since.

Yes that's one way but if the pics are on a desktop, you can then click 'insert image', choose file, etc and upload.

If it's that long something like 14 digits myHermes number then you have to enter it without the spaces on myHermes website. If you've been given the parcel2go number, the one that starts P2G then this needs to be entered on parcel2go website. Numbers don't always work straight away, often when the handset is docked at a depot perhaps, check on a regular basis, items move throughout the night with most couriers, so a morning is a good time to check that tracking. What happens at these parcel drop off shops is the packages are usually plonked in an already cluttered up corner shop, this can often be in an area accessible to the public, so just like an item can be lifted off a shelf, if the coast is clear some low life therefore can take a lucky dip.

The shop assistants have a scanner, they scan which marries up a receipt which they hand to the customer, surely this is all the proof you require to lodge a claim Danny ? It was myHermes i take it ? I wouldn't leave the shop without a receipt and the staff wouldn't expect you to. All my receipts are flung in a drawer with a scribble on them from me very roughly with the item sent and the buyers name.

A year or so ago i bought from Danny without a problem, he liaised well and sent when said, etc all promptly. Sure there are others that are not unhappy with him also. It's not fair for myself and others to just sit on their hands without posting their experience with him, this does not excuse the problem you're having however and of a similar one i read a few weeks back, i appeal to him to fulfill the deal and stop the reported BS.

Yet another speedo query!
I must apologize as there are 4 holes for the boost assembly not 3, a further one a little away from the triangle 3, two are marked B+ and B- with the other two just positive and negative, B of course is for boost as there is a T for temp and F for fuel on the pcb sheet !! Not having a boost gauge on the bench i cannot offer in and see if all these 4 points are used/required for sure as opposed to just being bolt down points. You may want to check this thread out http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?166978-OEM-Turbo-Boost-Gauge-on-a-1994-Series-4

Yet another speedo query!
I think iirc i got my S4 clocks from Japan and they were roughly £50.00, i am always looking for more though and yes it's difficult to find one with a boost gauge which but don't ask me why the Japan one did. That only S4 boost gauge i've got is in the car but i refreshed my memory by looking at my other 2 spare clock which are in bits, it only connects by bolting with the 3 bolts to the flexible pcb, nothing else is required, except of course for a boost solenoid which connects near the bulk head and the plug will be there somewhere for it.
-
Yet another speedo query!
The trouble you have with questions like this, the S4 clocks are few and far between especially here in the UK so people don't have a great knowledge of them and why would they when most have the earlier type, my knowledge is only of S4 and not the earlier ones and this works vica versa. I'll have a look through my bag of clock spares (S4 only !!) later for you and just refresh my memory on this and that.
-
Yet another speedo query!
You have a later series car like me, mines a S4 but our clocks are the same. Like you i was missing the boost gauge and yes it's looks unbalanced or worse still like a N/a !!! I got a later series set of clocks with a boost gauge and fit it in mine and plugged it in, iirc you just need the boost solenoid plus a length of tube to it from your balance bar via the use of a splitter. The shape of the earlier boost gauges is different from ours but you might be able to cut it to shape but you may or may not have the tray it goes in ?

Illuminated rear markers
I might have some universal ones that'll fit, i'll have a look in a mo. Btw, if i did have to comment on your new motor Simon, i did notice your markers were clear, i had clear ones and fit a red bulb behind but felt the light or colour never diffused well so went and got red/stock and that's how they are today. Graham might well be right with the Micra as the notches can always be adapted or stuck in, i did buy some MR2 sidelight bulb holders and these also fit, but let me have a look for you.
