  1. congrats on your purchase, now stand back and watch in amazement as hardly anyone knows what car it is, but they always have a "mate" that used to own one lol
  2. welcome matey. PS we are the darkside
  3. thats what i wanted to do, but time and coldness prevented it.
  4. I would agree on this for another car, but with the 300zx, like you have said they changed the compression ratio, so the off set is higher fuel consumption on the TT but more power delivered over the NA's lower fuel consumption with lower power in the mid range. had they bolted the turbos to the NA engine, if you could hold off flooring it everywhere, I'm sure you might see a slight increase in MPG. But id say, if he wants a NA in the same car, best option would be to get a NA engine and do a engine change. then sell the TT one. less fussing about as well.
  5. save on fuel, but likes the car he has? But to go TT to NA, remove turbos, and associated pipe work, remove inter coolers, you would need to plug turbo oil feed pipe work, or re-route it. and the same for the turbo water feeds. also you would need to change the manifold for a NA one. you would also need to change the balance bar, or block the vac lines associated with the turbo one, as its different on a NA. i might of missed something out, or added too much, but its a rough idea of what will need changing.
  6. might be baileys DV26 BOVs, had one on my 406 turbo, that you couldn't hear as it wasnt very loud.
  7. to add more light to this, when rev started the engine, it sounded very clunky for a brief moment, like metal striking metal, then once the engine was idling, a very loud tapping in time with the rotation of the crank that only stopped once the clutch pedal was pressed. my possible causes were, clutch, thrust bearing, or starter motor on the way out. the tapping gets faster with rev increase and is definitely coming from the bell housing area,
  8. nope, doesnt do it for me, and looks slower too.
  9. I can confirm the color match is spot on, infact if Art hadn't told me when i was looking, i wouldnt of known, the job is top notch, Art when are you getting the spoiler done?
  10. hmmm tub oil seal gone, or the car needs some nicorette patches.
  11. looks like it, unraveled the connector wire, fiddled about a bit with the wires, plugged the PTU back in, all 6 firing again  god darn 20 year old gremlins, need to rebook the MOT now..... lol
  12. Well just had rev1 here listening to his engine tap, its coming from his gearbox, and goes when he puts his foot on the clutch, engine is fine though. Anyway my misfire, had his PTU off his car and put it on mine, same problem, so can only be the wiring loom now. as when playing with the cable with the car running and his PTU the engine cut out. So anyway, put my PTU on his car, and his was running perfect. Looks like I'm going to have to strip back the loom from the PTU and see if there is anything untowards going on :( unless there is something else I'm missing..... Arrggghh
  13. ouch, what happened, and where were you yesterday i waited in

  18. Have you had quotes from classic car insurance yet? might be worth doing a search on here for insurance as the subject crops up from time to time, im insured on a classic policy for £300 a year full comp on my TT. also, what is your ideal 300zx
  19. welcome night ri...... Henry, may your stay be joyous and full of wind in the hair :D
  20. My pet hate? Getting cut up by an articulated lorry, doing 61mph on a two lane carriageway, just so he can overtake another articulated lorry doing 60mph. People on roundabouts who don't use indicators. People who maneuver Then start to indicate after first slowing down. People who do not understand the "right of way" system. people with no sence of direction.
