  1. you didnt read the whole thread did you hehe. already said its not connected matey :)
  2. lol thats ok, hardly use it when im driving, i have to pull over to do my hair and makeup
  3. well I've done spot welding before, but that was part of my old job, bit different to seam welding, but was going to strike the arc and put a spot to hold the plate in place at regular intervals, then join them up in sections doing opposite sides between joins, if that makes any sense to keep the heat distortion down a bit.
  4. I've just proof read what i typed there, I'm surprised you managed to decipher it lol Boot light isnt connected as the panels are still off the car from when i undid the rear bumper, glove box, there is a light in the glove box? my bulb must be out, never noticed lol
  5. i thought it might be my Separate tft screen as that stays kinda lit on the on button, but its just 1 LED so can see it being that, unless it leaves the screen in standby mode so is powered on, yet the screen lit.
  6. not sure your following me, it drains with out using the car. with the car running it charges the battery properly, my gauges do a volt check and if you knock them, they go back to the voltage, when the car is running the alt is producing 14volts or there abouts. put both batteries on my other car and they hold the charge, turn the car off and leave it for 2 days and the battery drains if i don't disconnect it.
  7. That's one thing ive always been impressed about with the crash photos, its the ability of these car to protect the occupants.
  8. wont be that bud, its happened to two batterys both when on the zed, when on the other car they stay fully charged
  9. i am surprised no one has done the obligatory "its OK, that will just buff right out"
  10. Car was sitting for a while so i left the battery on trickle charge, 6 days ago i took the battery out of storage and put it back on fast charge and once fully charged, put it on the car, went out to it after 2 days and it was dead to the point i had lights on the dash, but my gauges (they do a volt check when you turn the key) were saying just 8 volts, so not enough to crank the engine. sure enough when trying to start the car, not enough juice to start her. so i changed the battery for the one on my breaker, and again after 2 days, the battery was showing 8volts so didn't have enough guts to get her cranking. Never had this problem before, any idea what it could be? i havent changed anything dramatic that i can think off, that would cause a power drain and everything is off. Just to say, that the battery charges normally with the alternator, so i know its not that, and its done it to two different batteries, one i know is definitely good as its been on my other car with out draining.
  11. iirc, they both go to the alt, 2 small wires with O rings for them to go on the thread then you stick a 10mm nut on it.
  12. that's why there is a time and a place for it, taking unnecessary risks like that, is stupid and the out come usually the same. well done for posting that Gary, as it highlights the dangers of being stupid in a very sobering way.
  13. Good tip that man, going to sand it down tomorrow, and then apply an outer layer of filler (if the filler ive used already doesn't just fall out when sanding lol) and then see if i can texture a new layer. well all depends on how much another MOT station will charge for repairs, no point phoning and asking the place im going to take it lol It is however solid, wouldn't hold up to a impact but you cant push it into the body work lol
  14. welcome bud, agree with groover, get some pictures up.
  15. i was actually going to get some dog poo and put on it, and the tyre, that would get any MOT tester well away from that area. then give it a good clean after. i did think about putting a bit of filler on it and using a meat hammer to give it some texture, or just fillering the the whole skirt and smoothing it off, and leaving the other side, just so i can say im smoothing it lol
  16. front end looks more like a pug 406 coupe. not sure i like that to be honest.
  17. Well good news is im a fast learner and have at my disposal a complete shell of a z32 to practise on before i go any where near my car. the area in question isnt very big and after stripping it back, is quite small, it was made worse by me poking my finger in it. I really dont care about making a mess as it will get repaired properly after the MOT, i only need the car to pass so a good job albeit messy is fine as long as it passes. i do not have the funds to go buying a tig / mig welder, i do how ever have a arc welder at my disposal, ok i know its not the best of items, but if it gets the job done then thats what i have to use. Tomorrow im going to go and see about the repair from the same people im getting to do the MOT and see how much its going to cost. At the moment until the car is on the road im jobless, i have a job already lined up, i just need to be able to get too and from it, not good with public transport as its a fair distance and i will be doing all kinds of transfers before i get there. and not very cost effective either (its cheaper for me to put the cash in the car than do that) and not only that, using public transport im looking at a good 3 hour journey each way. For the time being i have fiber glassed and also body filler-ed, but its a bit bloody obvious, so will be sanding it down and giving it a good spray, but its still going to be obvious as i have the weather pattern on my skirts with a nice smooth patch where ive fillered it, so most likely still going to be a MOT failure due to it being body filler and fiber glass.
  18. please don't tell me your doing up that filter with a spanner, your only supposed to dip the end in oil and then hand tighten it
  19. Baz is an ass LOL only joking fella, hes a great guy actually :D
  20. its fully wound in mate, wont go no further :P
  21. i had a similar thing happen to me around 2 years ago with a garage and tescos, went into the garage fill the car up, paid with my card, the machine gave and error and the cashier said "ill try on the other till", went to the other till and paid there. that time it went through fine. I then went and did shopping at tescos, had all this shopping bagged and ready to go and my card got declined? which i thought was strange as i knew i had enough cash in the account for the fuel and shopping, so went and checked the cash machine, nope sure enough didnt have enough. got home from being rather embarrassed from having to walk out of tescos and leave all the shopping. checked my bank, the error on my card from the garage has still taken the cash, then i had paid AGAIN for the same fuel and it had gone through the second time around. so i had basically paid £70 twice for just the one amount of fuel, had to wait 3 days for it to get put back on my card. Needless to say i was not impressed with how chip and pin works. OK i know its not the ATM, but still card related lol
  22. first thing id do, is disconnect the battery from the amp for a while, give it a chance to stop "protecting" then after about an hour, reconnect the battery, earth, and remote and see if it turns on correctly.
  23. If you want your number removed after contact, just reply to this thread and ill do the honors
  24. You got the same black dials as me :D yay Just I'm in need of a new inverter now as for some reason mines stopped lighting my dials correctly?
  25. hmm how can i comment back and still keep it on topic..... ooh i know. Jeff can help you out, hes good at this sort of thing. :tongue_smilie:
