  1. You can say what you want about my rear end  but it doesnt distract from the fact that if you put that on your car, your just going to lower your standards. Now dont get me wrong. im not turning funkySi on you here, and i very rarely say that i dont like something to the point it makes me want to throw up. but even with my back end the way it is at the moment, still looks 10 times better than that. But it still is your car so you can do what you want with it matey, i just like how it is at the moment. here is a recent picture of my rear end for you though. Yes the bumper doesnt fit as there is still some repair work to do under it, but the weather is putting it on hold at the moment.
  2. i have read it. they said they would have to see how best to implement it. but that doesn't mean its set in stone. they had this same thing and discussed the same thing back in 2003/04 and still nothing has come of it.
  3. repost, please note it points to a webpage stating 2010 in the title and not 2011, its scaremongering.
  4. if i had snow here, i wouldn't be able to drive mine, all it would do is scoop it up into the front bumper as my cars that low.

  6. same here mate, no snow. just frost and very icy roads that you cant drive on. then you get the salt layers and apparently everyone complaining about how they cant do nothing and the countries at a stand still? What would my great grandad think of to days snow that stops everything dead in its tracks at the mere hint of it being deeper than 1mm?

  8. god sake woman, look its simple Golf = boyracer type = police watch out for them, as people with no sense tend to rag the arse off them. Bora = Stealth Boyracer type = Police don't really pay attention as its something someone with more sense should be driving. So you get shot of the zed as its too much to run, and now your trying to figure out what car to by, you want the golf because its faster, yet guzzles less. yet the bora looks comfy as hell yet looks like a smacked cows arse. hmmm. id say Golf to be honest. if your trying to save money. then go for the more economical of the two. (PS a golf isnt fast when up against a zed)

  10. im going to comment with out reading the thread. Dave, im not sure if your male of female matey. so the poll will have to be female for me.
  11. if your offering parts up, they will need to be free of charge, unless your going to sell them once your fully subscribed.
  12. damn it you beat me too it lol, was going to say almost the same thing. Congratulations matey. is that a fiberglass wedding cake i see there?
  13. As per title, happy birthday matey, have a good one.
  14. That's very handy to know matey, as I've got a rust bubble just starting to form on my rear wheel arch and same on my lower rear skirt area. not major or structurally damaging but would rather getting it sooner than later.
  15. Reviving a not too old thread, just to say that i now i have 1 working, and 1 broke one, mainly due to me breaking it.... so thats 1 and a half zed for me. but this thread made me laugh my arse off. Oh and when have i said you have to like me? i know plenty who hate me, Car.mad for one, dazvert another, hell about 90% of the active members cant stand me, but i dont care. im here for the car not for a date
  16. I would worry about that once the big ends are sorted out mate in all honesty, your not going to need fuel if them connecting rods fail, you will need a new engine. at least at the moment its salvageable. trust me i should know, ive put two conrods through the engine on my N/A and cracked the block. The noise you are hearing is the bearing hammering the crank. fuel smell could just be a fuel leak from one of the pipes in the engine bay. but as i said id be more concerned about that midget hammering on your crank. Its not too bad a job, although it might seem it. just look at it in a measure of time scale, instead of difficulty.
  17. woooo, that is definitely big ends, and that is very bad to be able to hear it on start up like that. you have a oval big end bearing and unless you want to throw a connecting rod and put it through the sump / block, i strongly suggest you stop starting it to listen. Again, What tudor said. drop the front sub frame and take the sump off. you will be better off getting the crank out and having it checked. and as a matter of course it would be easier to replace the pistons for fresh ones and good bearings. or you are more than likely going to end up having to replace them again not long down the road. Checking the oil is not what causes big end failure. ragging the arse off the car is what almost certainly causes it. a few rare occasions it happens out of the blue on a well maintained car. but more than likely its due to people thrashing it around all the time. Or taking a corner at speed and throwing the oil away from the pickup and starving the engine of good lubricant.
  18. German motors are very well engineered. i had a golf mk2 GTI in black, had a Audi engine in it. 1.8 liters. drove it everywhere, then one day i needed to sort the exhaust out. jacked the car up, only to find one of the metal plugs that go in the side of the engine was missing and there was no water in it. haven't got a clue how long it was like this as by this point had only had the car for about 3 weeks. got it cheap as when my mate had it, it kept getting broken into. anyway, dunno how many miles it had done like that with no water in. but kept going and didn't over heat??? so work that one out. then i swapped it for another GTI. which then blew its head gasket after 2 weeks. and it still drove on 2 cylinders. it blew between pistons 2 and 3 on a 4 cylinder engine. yet the engine still ran and was good enough to get me to the garage for a quote for work. £360 i got quoted. so instead went and got a head gasket set and did it my self. ran like a rocket after that. but found out some daft bugger had put diesel oil it in, but it still ran fine after the HG was sorted out. Solid engines to be honest.
  19. im getting Dazverts off him for Christmas whooo hooo, cant wait to get my DSLR :D
  20. oops, sorry if i came across as having a dig back bud. sometimes text doesn't get across how it was meant to come out. i know you wasn't have a pop matey :D now kiss and make up :tt2:
  21. you wouldn't believe me if i told you, lol Daffy, i have a 2001 model JVC 42" plasma, I've always transported it flat. and its still going. works wonderfully no screen burn or anything like that. not only that, when they make them the screens are conveyored along flat until its mounted to the front plate and glass, then they turn up vertically so they can then attach the PCB's so cant see a difference between the screen being conveyed along and me transporting it. its a myth, just like plasmas don't last as long as LCD's that is also a myth.
  22. Well, after the small indent i managed to get after a date with a central reservation barrier that didn't work out too well, and then sorting out the water leak, went and bought a 50 pioneer plasma last night off of ebay, the guy was quite nice and let me go pick it up, even though it was in Thetford, some 79 miles away. Anyway, was a nice drive. loved every minute of it. didn't push it at all, she held her temp, no strange incidents with the rear end or the sudden rev's, in fact she was that nice to drive i didn't want to get out once i had got to the guys house. anyway, lowered the back seats, and slotted the 50" in, just laid it on top of a quilt i took with me, adjusted the drivers and passenger seat back so it clamped the screen to stop it moving. and drove all the way home. well both me the car and the plasma arrived back home at 2 am of a very nice night drive. have to say when I'm driving it. all the troubles with her disappear and leaves me with no doubt that i love the 300xz, So there ya go, you can transport a delicate item in the back of 300zx even with stiffened suspension and make it home with out breaking anything.
  23. PTU problem perhaps? when i changed my PTU over for another unit, it just refused to fire. was cranking a good one too at the time, just no sparky getting to the Coilpacks. might just be coincidence but PTU failure at the time you topped up?
