  1. you can upload a sound file to photobucket then post it up on the forum
  2. yeah i did yesterday, thought it was well cool. was going to post it but got side tracked when i see this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PANASONIC-103-TH-103PF9EK-FULL-HD-PLASMA-TV-DISPLAY-/380290664226?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_Video_Televisions&hash=item588b170722
  3. can you describe what the noise sounds like from the coil packs? is the MAF plugged in? what did you do to get the car running, what was the previous problem and could it be related.
  4. that's two cars sold with in the space of a month i do believe, or there abouts. not bad considering none of them have been mine.
  5. Sounds like its that time of year. stuck a brand spanking new harddrive in my Mrs comp about a month ago and it decided after a power failure to lose the information that mounts the drive as a drive with files on. instead it would show in windows then if you tried to access it, it would ask to be formatted. annoyingly i had just transferred over loads of important files and photos onto it. so had to do a drive scan with my trusty file recovery program (damn six hour wait) just to recover all the files off it before i wiped it again. Then 3 days later the drive i used to back up all the files onto fried the board on it? its like wtf, is it technology failure week or something? but at least the files are safe, even if i cant access the drive yet. need to find a drive with the same board on it, to swap it over to recover my files again lol
  6. 89spec for me, as previously stated, the 99spec looks more like you stole it from a ford and just bolted it on, as it doesn't quite reach the ends of the car. 89 spec looks more like it belongs, which it does. and also you cant beat the side profile with a 89spec that a 99spec just doesn't give.
  7. Good buy matey. and glad its staying in the club :D
  8. Sorry matey, sounds like its a goosed drive. my 250gig did the exact same, would be fine one min, next disappears and you have to restart the puter to get it back. turned out to be bad sectors on the disk. When its working, right click it, go to properties > tools > error checking and do a disk scan. if it locks and vanishes whilst doing that. its more than likely bad sectors, and in the long run you will be facing a losing battle. do you have a receipt for it? if so send it back and get a replacement. if its a used one of the bay. then it is most likely the reason it was sold on. as for sata, it is plug and play on new boards, you shouldn't be facing these problems. older mother boards where the primary hard drive connection was IDE, sometimes struggle. also what OS are you running? some can be funny about the size of the drive attached to it.
  9. Id like to know what ships the US lent us for that war? we sent 45 ships. and as far as I'm aware (considering my dad fought in that war) no US ships were there apart from a old one that we sank with a sub, that belonged to the argentines. be interesting to know what US ship was there though. as every website and military program never mentions them. The US gave us help with ammo and missiles even though initially they wanted to remain neutral. I was on about WW2 when the US refused to help us by joining the war. as stated with the Falklands they only helped with ammo/missiles and political pressure....eventually.
  10. we wouldn't send subs, we sent one last time we had a war with them. and that only sank one ship, and look at the crap we got when that happened. as for a ally helping, America would need to get bombed before they are willing to help us. just look at last time we needed help lol
  11. That's a bit "all eggs one basket". as much as i agree with some of what you put, not all students are like that. there are more Older students as well who this is hitting. and not everyone has it where they take out a bank loan or government grant or what ever it is. but don't student loans come from banks and not the tax payer? if it was the tax payer paying, then shouldn't more people be able to go on to higher education rather than the select few it is at the moment? as much as it pains me to say this. i actually support them in their fight against the government. its about time this country got a back bone and fought for our rights. just so happens when a students beer money is threatened. they actually care enough to go protest. not that its going to change much, unlike the rest of the population who sit idly by while fuel prices increase, VAT increase, the general cost of living increases, yet wages stay the same. there is a lot more to complain about than students putting there foot down, hell if they win we might actually get more protests for the good of the people rather than the good of the government. Ive just seen that the harrier force from the Ark Royal has now left the deck leaving the country with no carrier force for the next 10 years. one of our most prominent forces in the ocean and country's defence has now been decommissioned and everyone is fine about it. they are fine to sit in there home and see that we have just lowered our defences. i wonder how long it will take argentina to invade the Falklands islands now we have no carrier in our fleet. may be the banks can give back all that money the government gave them to bail them out, instead of raising the cost of living and stinging the British public more.
  12. Jeff, if you had just ran a repair install of windows xp, you would of sorted this out by now and still had all your files.
  13. pab is that the one off ebay? please don't buy it and put that on your car. sorry but i think that has to be one of the worst back bumpers ive seen.
  14. To be honest as its windows xp, there shouldn't be any data loss, BSOD on start up is usually a result of a corrupt file due to the sudden loss of power. it would be far easier to fix and a lot better for data recovery, if you just change the start up drive in BIOS to CD rom. reset it with a windows xp disk in the drive. and do a repair install, this will move all important folders into a new section and reinstall windows xp, leaving the normal file system intact. you will keep all data on the hard drive. it would take about 1 hour to complete. the only thing you would have to do is reinstall drivers for the laptop and possibly some programs as it deletes the main Windows folder that holds all the driver files. but the Program files folder will still be there with all your program data in. and also the main section would be the User named folder that contains the usual important folders like, my pictures. my documents and the like. Jeff i have no problem with doing this for you as i did this as a daily job when starting my business up.
  15. aah that's ok then, it usually goes between 85 and 96, around that area, was just wondering that's all. no point having a gauge on the car that shows temp, if your not sure what is a healthy temp lol
  16. ive got one on a side pod down the window pillar but i want to know what the temp should be, what range is healthy so to speak
  17. if its a car park you use regularly, why did they clamp it? do they have adequate signs up? if they don't, its daylight robbery and you can take it off your car.
  18. i have to agree with tudor on this one, if its not DVLA sod them, cut it off, and take it to the police and say, sorry but I've done some criminal damage. rather than just running. it will go down better as you have openly admitted it lol ooh, take the lock off, so most you would have to pay is the £8 for the replacement.
  19. ya getting old Al, like me matey. hang about ain't you 1 year older than me? or is that the other way round?
  20. same price as me, same company as well
  21. because, and i say this in the nicest way possible, we are lazy buggers and cant be arsed logging into a separate site to chat when we have a forum that does more or less the same thing, only difference is, that instead of having to press refresh to see if anyone has replied, its instant in the chat room. There i think that's summed it up
