  1. any suggestions please guys . its just blowing cold at the moment so im thinking the valve is trapped in the closed / almost closed position . ive topped up the cooling system and bled a bit of air out .
  2. hi chaps . ive just changed my matrix over and my query is to do with the bottom pipe with the on/off valve . ive re-clipped the cable in place but the cable / valve is now solid . is the metal part of the cable supposed to slide freely inside the black casing to operate the valve . im wondering whether i may have kinked the cable somehow . cheers guys andy
  3. glad you are all ok . as others have said the car can be mended so nothing to worry about there . im sure the good folk of the club will rally round to help you out .
  4. dont know about that one but i have 12volt one and its shi-ite
  5. i agree with you totally . i think the only time it would become an issue was if the aim was too high . have a look next time your in a car spares shop at the high power bulbs .
  6. apparently so . not too sure what the law is but something to do with increasing the brightness of your headlamps over stock . not sure whether you have ever noticed but with normal brighter bulbs for headlights on the packaging it says for show use only . no one takes any notice but if you got the wrong plod at the wrong time you can be done .
  7. to be honest i think they are all pretty much the same . 6000 bulbs give the whitest light . try to get some with small ballasts if you can as its easier to took them away unless you,ve done away with your original air box as this is a good place to put them so the rozzers cant see em
  8. no mate . hucentric have to be bolted to the hubs before you fit your wheels . it sounds like there could be a few issues here all with how the wheels are fitted . i would remove the spacers . get correct spigot rings correct nuts then get them torqued up correctly . even if your balancing is spot on with the other issues its gonna feel wrong . these add up to a safety issue so please no boosting till its sorted
  9. this place also stocks spigot rings . £10 a set . if they are missing and you need them its also dangerous as instead of the hub supporting the wheel the studs are . all in all wrong nuts supporting the wheels instead of hubs and also torqued up wrong . impending doom. give us a bell in the morning 07951 676082
  10. original 300 nuts are for oem wheels . for aftermarket you will probably need different ones . im gonna be in around 12ish noon . if you want to pop over i,ll take you to a place that will check your nuts out (not one of those places either)and we,ll get them torqued up properly at mine
  11. get a cheap torque wrench off ebay for about £20 or so . well worth it mate .
  12. well if you havent got them torqued up correctly , just pulled up to a creak you may have one stud at 100lbs another at 120lbs another at 90lbs and so on . uneven load on the wheel . a perfect recipe for nuts shearing off and warped wheels due to uneven loading , not to mention the risk of damaging the stud holes and ruining your wheels . i remember reading an article somewhere a while back where it said more wheels come off cars at speed due to nut being over/un equaly tightened as opposed to under tightened . a friend of mine many years ago popped round to mine saying his car was shaking a bit . my first thought was your wheels are out of balance . when i looked at his car he only had one nut left on out of four . the other three had sheered off without him knowing . i suppose the shaking started after the third one went . it took 2 of us with a wheel brace to undo the last one . must have been a good couple of hundred pound on that nut .
  13. another possible is your spacers . if they are not hubcentric this will cause issues . if they arnt , take em off and refit ya wheels . if they are hubcentric have you got the right spigot rings fitted?
  14. alright chris , how you doing bud . if your car was fine before new wheels and spacers were fitted i,d get them off and check everything is seated properly . ie spacers . when my new tyres were fitted got them all balanced up and thought they would be bang on . before fitting to the car i got them checked again at a better place and the bloke showed me on the machine that they were a mile out of balance . he redone them and they are perfect now . also have you got your wheels torqued up correctly . 80lbs on the wheel nuts . another possible cause could be the use of wrong nuts . worth checking as its bloody dangerous with the wrong ones . did they fit your wheels with a rattle gun . if so take em off and refit them . almost certainly too tight and unevenly torqued . andy
  15. miata.net tire size calculator type this in your search bar . excellent page for wheels and tyre sizes andy
  16. 80lbs on the wheel nuts is about right . without a torque wrench you would give them another half a turn as it dont feel that tight . as with all nuts and bolts on cars i think we are all guilty of overtightening . a decent torque wrench is a must
  17. as above . postage - blah blah item location -------------------------------- payments - paypal etc
  18. bloody hell mate . extensions and stuff are my game . we should meet up . talk zeds and work

  21. hardly use mine . approx 10 miles a week . not used her now for a couple of weeks . once i get a couple of issues sorted im hoping to use her a little more . less than a 1000 miles in her last 12 months . andy
  22. sorry to see this . it really makes you wonder whats going on in there pathetic little heads . hope you find out who the little ba**ard is . careful how you go though as he will be turned out to be some victim of society by do-gooders.
  23. they can smoke on tickover if the pcv valves are dodgy . hopefully its this as its a relatively cheap and easy fix
