  1. Mantav8 and me had a few hours last night removing the exterior bits and some of the pipe work around the engine , started around 11.30 this morning , got stuck in and eventually out it came about 5 oclock  Wouldn,t like to do that every day :headvswal The AIV,s and EGR and Carbon Cannister are all coming off , also trying to sort out anything else which is junkable , to simplify things abit  Give everything a damn good clean then replace : The Turbo,s Rear main Crank seal Rocker cover gaskets Rear core plugs VVT springs Fit the polished plenum and painted timing and throttle covers , replace fuel tubing and vac lines and also a sh1t load of electrical connecters now !! :headvswal It,s gonna be a busy week :D :D

  5. This company,s been going for years , the workmanship looks superb ,as mentioned for a re,con it,s a fixed price of £175 +vat , one of mine needed a new compressor wheel due to partical damage and the other had a tiny amount of damage but they can re-face the edge of the blades as long as is will remain in tolerance and can be balanced correctly, the new compressor wheel was about an extra £55 , total price was IIRC £480   Midland Turbo Tel: 0115 9614516
  6. Try lifting an autobox bud , hernia city here we come :smash: :smash:
  7. This is after the re-furb !!
  8. Yes bud , i borrowed a set of 19,s while i had mine re-furbed , loved the looks so kept it as my avatar , just wish i could afford some
  9. Check the yellow temp connecter on the top alloy water pipe if this is corroded it can cause this :smash: as for the guages , don,t know bud :headvswal
  10. I had one fitted but because you cut out a fair bit of the pipe and also the pipe isn,t the same diameter at each end , you have to over tighten the rear most jubilee to pull the pipe tight and after some it split on me , lucky for me i was near the Zed Centre and luke had a spare   In the end i had a boss welded on the alloy pipe and got it drilled and tapped to suit , only cost a few quid
  11. Bloody ell that,s pricey , i used Midland Turbo in Nottingham , £175 each for a full re-con with 1 years unlimited mileage warranty , we,re fitting them next week
  12. These are AVS ( before the re-furb ) but don,t know which model :smash:
  13. My deepest condolances on your loss .
  14. Use a bonding sealer as suggested but it,s best to bond the skirt on without trying to get the sealer neat on the edge where it meets the bumper. Put plenty around the bumper slightly lower than the swage line that the skirt fits into , fit the skirt pressing it evenly onto the bonding so it spreads out , if any excess squeezes out the upper edge which is seen wash it off using panel wipe , using a good sticky tape such as duck tape , tape the skirt tightly to the bumper, leave it for a day , take the tape off . Now you can seal the edge that is seen , put a bead of sealer along the top edge and using your thumb ( with rubber gloves on of course , this stuff sticks too and staines skin very well ) run your thumb around the joint squeezing the sealer into the remaining gaps , now using a rag soaked in panel wipe wash off any excess sealer and finish off using your thumb again with the soaked rag streched tightly over it until you have a very neat sealer line which is smooth and ready to accept paint , don,t forget any little blemishes that are seen in the sealer will show up alot more with paint on. Don,t forget to degrease your bumper first though :smash: HTH
  15. A good meet , even though we ended up dining surrounded by the cast of Deliverence :x: :x: I think the landlord was quite excited that we might be going back there   Nice to see you all again  See you at the next one , be good , if you can,t be good get a pram :p

  22. The other cat is insured , we,d only had her a few months before dissapearing and it was the usual thing , oh i,ll ring em tomorrow but never got round to it :headvswal It,s worth doing bud , it,s about £7 a month , she,s getting bloody insured now :smash: Gonna pop round to the lady who found her and took her in to the vets , take her some flowers as a thankyou. nice to know there,s some decent folk out there
  23. There are variuos polishing kits about , this is from Frost Automotive , they do alot of gear for car restoration .it,s a kit of different size polishing wheels which are made from layers of cloth sewn together in various thicknes,s and also a block of compound which is the stuff that actually polishes the metal up . Just put one of them in an electric drill , whilst spinning coat the wheel in compound and get polishing , i found for the final polish to use Solvol Autosol brings a nice clean shine to things. For small items i mount the drill in a vice and polish items against it . This is the kit below ( borrowed off a mate by the way  ) Also in the box is a fuel filter for the zed which i,ve also blinged
  24. The missus got a call from our vets yesterday saying a cat had been took in , they scanned her and got her micro chip number , checked there records and realised we had reported her missing on august 5th  The not so good news is her back leg was shattered :smash: :smash: Even worse is we didn,t have her insured :slap: So now i,m £440 lighter unlike the cat which isn,t due to all the metal pins in her , got to keep her in a cage and immobile for 3 weeks  Bloody animals, don,t ya just love em
