Try and use an enamal paint if you can like chrome spray as it will conduct temperature better.

Thats why I ask the questions, ok what bits do i need? Do I need the big black cylinder and a new master cylinder or just the master cylinder? Same question with the clutch, do I need the bit inside the bulkhead as well? Best place to get them? thanks

Guys a few questions today on brake and clutch master cylinder repairs. As you can see by the pictures my Zed has been leaking brake and clutch fluid for quite some time. The leaking fluid had previously ruined all the paint so I want to make sure it does not happen again. Questions 1. Can I repair the brake master cylinder with it still in the car? it seems to be leaking from the joint between both pieces under the bonnet. Or do I have to remove the whole thing to repair it?. 2. There are several different types of repair kits on ebay, is there any way of identifying the correct one for me to buy looking at the pictures?. 3. The clutch cylinder has also been leaking for ages where it goes through the bulkhead, is it possible to also buy a repair kit for this? if so where? 4. Can this be done in the car or will it involve removing the clutch assembly from the other side of the bulkhead? Thanks

The top trick for this is to prepare the surfaces and then bond it using windscreen adhesive. Then fiberglass and fill as normal!

yes you are right, I was just curious though. My zed won a few things before I started work on it. And at the end of the day I will be pleased with it if I can get it running and just get to some of the meets and shows.

yeah I know what you are saying, just sometimes I think I am under doing things like the interior. Im having a nice re trim and have a lovely set of recaros but as an example im going black/black. All my pipes under the hood have been uprated to silicon but are all black.

Not in the car but the guys play it at work all the time as it really annoys the stonehead/heavy metal grunge type death thrash staff in the office. M&M drum and bass for me..

I have been looking at loads of pictures of Zeds, interiors, wheels, bodywork etc etc. It seems that quite often people just seem to go to far and end up with some quite tacky features IMO. If I can ever get the car finnished and running I am looking forward to going to some of the shows and meets. Typically do you do better in the shows having customised everything? or can you still do ok with a car that resembles a zed? even if the interior is one colour and you have no UV lights etc? Genuine question as I have never been to a car show before so its all new to me. Money is not an object with my zed but I really have to say that personally I dont want something that looks like it has done a smash and grab at Halfords even if I stand better chances :ph34r:

Getting the facking bolt off the front of the Alternator was a challenge though took half a day with a blow torch!

On my build I just have a new pump for the back of the car, everything else fuel wise will be stock.

How can you test a fuel pressure regulator works?. I can blow freely through one of mine in all directions, the other one you can only blow throw it one way.. is this correct? I had them chromed so want to make sure they do still work! thanks

Sorry about the description but does anyone know where I can get a set of the black semi circular gaskets that go at the back of the heads and seal to the rocker box covers. There are two of them and the other two holes have the cam sensors in them. They dont come in the engine gasket set and I broke my old ones getting them out.

You buy a universal recaro frame, they dont do one designed for the 300zx in the eu. Then you will need a fair amount of modification to get those to fit somehow (I still need to fit my seats into the car).
