  1. Started looking at replacing these rear brake lines
  2. The rear brake lines not looking good....
  3. Managed to get to spend sometime on the car yesterday, and finally get most of the rear suspension etc, bolted to the subframe. All of the OEM bushes have been replaced in the control arms, tension rod and hub knuckles, with Driftworks poly bushes. Whilst stripping the lower control arm, I installed new ball joints. I had to admit defeat on the ball joints, in the hub knuckle for the HICAS. After spending nearly 4hrs just on one of them, I gave up and took it to my local garage who pressed them out for £20  The subframe bushes and diff bushes have been replaced with Energy Suspension units. They weren't that difficult to replace, just time consuming really, carefully, drilling cuttting and a bit of burning involved. Differential bushes being the easiest of the lot. The diff oil has been drained and I'm just awaiting the new Redline oil from Opie Oils. I also replaced the 2 mounting studs and nuts on the diff as the original items were heavily corroded. The subframe was powder coated by a local firm. All of the other parts diff, arms etc, were cleaned up with a wire twisted/knotted wheel in the angle grinder. Hydrate 80 (a rust neutraliser) was then applied to everything, followed by zinc primer and 2 coats of POR 15. I gave the drive shafts a good clean plus coated them with Hydrate 80 again and POR 15, for good measure. I have new Driftworks lockout bar to fit and that is pretty much it. Now time to move onto the rear brakes lines........ .
  4. Happy Andrew. Hope you were spoiled?
  5. Alic, z nut is referring to a GB some years ago. I also bought pair of these, and as mentioned the slots were on the large side, and showed a lot of the bulkhead below. I ended up selling mine due to needing funds for something else. Hopefully these ones will not have a similar problem. i was going to go for the ones from Synergy in the US, but they will be far more expensive than the units Ian is proposing.
  6. Yes please Ian Updated list 1. Ian Greenfield 2. Graham 3. TonyB 4. Tmogsy 5. Bigh
  7. Very nice car....................and video
  8. Came past a Ford Transit on fire on the M25 tonight, just past Clacketts Lane services. The emergency services hadn't arrived and it was at full tilt. The emergency phone 20ft away had melted, and I could feel the heat as I passed the scene and that was in lane 3, with the windows up! Threads like this remind me to buy a bloody good fire extinguisher.
  9. Ordered the the wrong type of bush, so these are now spare to my rear subframe and suspension rebuild. The bushes are brand new with inner metal sleeves. They fit the rear tension rods arms and the rear hub knuckle only £20.00 incl. P & P cost £40.00 from Driftworks
  10. Wow stunning colour and build. Keep us updated
  11. Looks interesting. Would like to see the finished bonnet when complete
  12. Love the way the seller shows s photo of 1.5k bill. What that's supposed to shows that it been properly maintained? I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole! The list of body work will easy run into 4 figures, if you are not doing it your self. Spilt brake pipes, Christ can't believe it s already reached the bids it showing!
  13. Hi just done these. It very important that you leave the outer shells in the subframe. Otherwise you will need to buy, new shells from CZP, or go with solid bushes. The hardest part is not cutting in to the flange on the lower part of the shell. I have plenty of photos :whistling: drop me a pm if you need anymore help.
  14. Well done Stephen. Yep, I will be here.
  15. Looking good. I am a little bit behind you, currently pressing out all the bushes on the rear hub knuckles, tension arms. Hopefully painting my diff this weekend. Then on to the rear brake lines. Pretty sure you cannot use Knufier lines for fuel line though. Perhaps someone else can advise either way?
  16. Hey up Jim,
  17. Congratulations Stephen :pint:
  18. Yep - see post 5 http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showth...=1#post1938227
  19. Hi, I can think of a great UK model owned by AndrewG on here, the only box it doesn't tick is the colour, (Metallic blue). Or we have a another car owned by JOELYP which is a red JSPEC example.
  20. Hi I can have a look at the wheel sizes on my wide arch, and post them up for you if that helps? No wheel spacers on mine
  21. Hi Jeff, yes was thinking exactly that where I need to join the kunifer to the steel lines. I won't be replacing more then I have to. But defintaley all of the rear, the front lines are really good, and seem to have faired much better, with protection.
  22. Jeff, would this kit be man enough to flare the OEM steel lines?
