I get a similar smell but only when I turn the aircon off, I always assumed it was the moisture being re-introduced to the air flow. Most older cars I've had with aircon seemed to do the same thing so I havent worried about it too much.. Hope you havent got to do the matrix, I hear its a PITA to do...

I seem to remember being told you could drive to an MOT testing station and thats it, dunno if its bull or not...

Anyway I have to learn to love the law, missus starts training 10 weeks and counting... at least we will get to jump the queues at clubs when she gets her warrant card! RESULT!! :dance: anyways Im fooked, g'night all...

cripes, what a thread! feel a bit bad for traffic cop, a cops gotta do what a cops gotta do... I'm sure he would rather be chasing perps starski and hutch style or just catching p1ss3d up w@nkers driving home from the pub but speeding is in the remit and he'll stop you all the same.... If you dont fancy getting caught invest in some radar detectors, and laser blinders and a GPS speed trap thing. If you REALLY dont want to get done for speeding then dont speed. simple really. If I get caught I'm not gonna get too upset about it, sh1t happens and I am breaking the law after all (even if it is a sh1tty law!! :) ) I'm gonna get a flaming for that I'm sure.... :hyper:

The way I understand it is that you guys will point the thingie at the reflective part of the car (number plate, or maybe a headlight??) the little doohickie on the car is located right next to the plate so its pretty much head on to the beam (I dont think it's a particularly tight beam, e.g laser pointer, more wide angle, like a TV remote) the blinder instantly spits out a load of junk preventing the gun from calulating the speed, this of course all happens at wicked speeds, 1/3 of a second I think for the gun to take a couple of distance measurements and work out the speed...... this is all from the civilian chap who somehow got his mits on the gun.. he let me have a play with it actually and they are mean bits of kit, i could measure the speed of a lamp post from miles away!!! :D

I'd swap my Zed for a DB9 any day, or a Ferrari 360 for that matter.... maybe this would be a good thread starter, what WOULD you swap your zed for???

I've got the LRC 1000 thingie, aparently uses the same diode??? as the police guns. defo stops the speed reading, wanna know if im gonna get chased down the road for having it turned on though!!! :rofl:

Bit of a diversion, but if you're a traffic cop I guess you get to play around with the LTI 20-20 doo-hickies I used to get caught by all the time. Question is can you guess that a driver is using a blinder? Had mine tested by a chap with a 20-20 and it worked a treat, no speed reading, but does it stick out to the operator that its a blinder? (fook knows where he got it from, prob a cop and nicked it from work! :ROFL:)

Yup kinda happened to me, little buggers nicked my laptop and some other stuff, also nicked next doors bike, routine stop on the bike and they were caught red handed with a bag full of my sh1t and a nicked bike! Well done that rozzer! :hyper:

really wet down south too, harldy stopped all afternoon, discovered my poor little golfs one weakness, doesnt like the wet, coughing and spluttering all over the place, and I thought she was indestructible. WD40 treatment tommorow!!!

Now thats funny, myself and my neighbours would love to get our grubbie mits on some of the sh1ts around here. I dont think its a case of the police not being interested more a case of there isnt a lot they can do to stop the little turds from doing it, they cant be everywhere at once. Prob more of a social problem than a police one, but thats just IMHO..... My missus joins hampshire police in ten weeks, should be interesting to see if I get off after battering some kid for fecking around with my car! :)

It's Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!! Slated by the critics but went to see it with the nipper and it's cool! Those with kids go see it tonight, those without guess you'll have to save the blushes at you local multi-plex and wait for the DVD!! Brings back cracking memories of watching it when I was a kid! Now I wonder if we will get a Terrahawks movie? who remembers that gem!!

What gets my goat is the mindless vandalism, sure steal my car, its nice, cant blame the little fooks for wanting to joy ride in it. We have bad probs with the little beggars fooking up cars around here, one morning every car in my road had a nice yellow go-faster stripe sprayed on it!!! And on friday, lord knows how they did it, but they bent my neighbours landrover door all the way to the floor!!! with lots of beating it kind of went back into shape but what was the point in that? its a 25yr old 4x4 hasnt even got a stereo in it to nick!!!!!!!!!! Does my freakin' head in. Rant over.....

Yup I agree 100%. Part of the reason I have a zed, dont see many around do you, I know I get all excited whenever I see another one! Everybody had renault 5 turbos when I was a lad, so I went straight out and got a silvia instead!!

Ahhh that makes sense, I didnt realise anybody would actually spend money on those cars, I just assumed they were VTR or VTS models....

Whats wrong with all these lads with thier heavily modded saxos and fiestas etc, or more to the point whats wrong with thier cars? Im stuck in my '88 mk2 golf gti (completely stock, even down to original steel wheels!!) and I still blow them away all the time. I would have thought with a chip, exhaust and decent air filter they would be able to whoop the old girl good and proper...

Very tidy silver J-Plate, with big exhausts, nice spoiler and a new back end I think.... About 8:30ish Saturday night, near the football ground. Waved like a goon from my MK2 Golf. got ignored 'cos I probably looked like a nut.
