  1. Hi Chris, First of all, if only one side is working then you've either got a duff ballast or duff bulb. To check which it is just swap over the bulbs. If the same side fails to light up then it's the ballast, if the other side now fails then it's the bulb. I can supply both replacement bulbs and ballasts if need be. Yes, you can change back to normal bulbs without removing the HIDs. All you need to do is remove the HID bulbs, by doing so you'll have disconnected the spade connectors from the grey connector block. Then install H3C bulbs and pop the grey connector block onto the back of the new bulbs - job done! I've got H3C bulbs in stock (generally speaking otherwise it'll be a day before I've got more). The brightest you can get are our 55W Extreme White bulbs (rated at 4500K). £11.00 for a pair plus £4.20 via Recoreded Delivery. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance. Regards,
  2. Sorry to be chiming in so late after the original post ... Yes, I've got HID conversion kits for the Z32 available. Fully digital kits with ignitors inside the ballasts (so you only have one box to install) and no need to have a direct feed from the battery (as with 95% of e-bay kits). I recommend the 6000K H3 HID-PRO kit (see http://www.smithys-place.co.uk/hid.php) as that is the most popular kit for the Z32. Price is £91 plus £8.95 postage (Royal Mail Special Delivery or £10.58 via UKMail couriers). All I need to know from you is whether your car is a UK or Japanese import. If you wish to discuss this further, or to place an order, please phone me on 0845 4744-382. Regards,
  3. I've checked them out and they don't have UK stock either ...
  4. OK - just a bit of an explanation here (it's long but bear with me): First of all, INSTALLATION: All our A'PEXi kits come with full Z32 specific instructions that I personally drafted when doing the conversion on my own car some years ago. Removing the stock air box can be a bit of a pain due to location of a couple of bolts but as you're binning the box you can also use a small hacksaw. Removal should take no more than 10 minutes if you're doing it the "neat" way. Installing the cone filter is a matter of 2 minutes as the filter bolts straight onto the air flow meter (bolts are supplied in our kit). Secondly, a description of the standard A'PEXi "filter head only" kit and their "full" induction kit: A'PEXi produced two kits for the Z32 - the first (and cheapest @ £87) is the so-called "filter head only" kit. This kit comprises of one filter head, paper gasket and four bolts. This is the kit that was most widely sold all over the globe. The second kit (aka "full induction kit") they produced included (in addition to the above parts) a set of metal brackets that secure the filter head in place and also held the plastic splash guard in position to prevent the filter from getting wet. This kit is much more expensive (£125). Thirdly, the situation with A'PEXi and the SHORTAGE of kits: A year and a half ago, APEXi was declared bankrupt and was subsequently bought by another company. Then earlier this year the new company started to change the way their distributors/resellers could place orders. Minimum order quantities were raised to $5,000 and delivery schedules were extended. This made it extremely difficult for distributors to do business and as a result global stock levels of AVC-R's, Induction Kits, etc started to decline. A couple of months ago stock levels of the filter head only kits reached critical levels and at this moment there are none left anywhere. The full induction kit is rapidly going in the same direction and is becoming extremely difficult to get hold of. I have managed to secure a total of 4 "full induction kits" via a supplier of mine. These kits are currently not yet in the UK. I have seen these kits exchange hands at ludicrous prices (£200 and upwards) in recent weeks so I am extremely pleased to have access to these four kits. After paying for the import duty/VAT and shipping fees, I will be able to offer these four kits to members of this Club at a reasonable £125.00 (P+P = £9.00). One kit is already spoken for so three remain up for grabs. These kits are likely to be the last ones I will be able to get hold of for a considerable amount of time so if you want one then I suggest you grab this deal whilst it is still available. Ebay: I too have seen a number of these A'PEXi kits come up on ebay. Please beware that the majority of these will NOT fit the Z32 as they are most likely "Universal" Nissan fit. The bolt pattern on these is not correct for the Z32 so don't waste your money on them. There are also a number of very good "fakes" floating around. The way to tell them apart is to look at the bolt holes at the base of the filter head. If they are gold coloured then it's a genuine A'PEXi filter, if they are silver or even black in colour then stay well clear. I hope the above has explained a few things. If anyone wants to discuss this further then please get in touch with me. All the best,
  5. Anyone have some suggestions before I spend ££? Thanks!
  6. Hi all, Just wondering what people are using to create flash animated banners. I need to do a number of banners for various websites and am looking for a free/cheap software package. Doesn't have to do a lot of "flash" things. Will mostly be using fade in/out and moving left/right text. Any feedback or links are most appreciated! :D Have a good weekend! Regards,
  7. Normal coolant hose should be fine for use in the Z32 engine bay.
  8. You should have been sent H3 bulbs ... H1 is for MAIN beam. HTH Dan
  9. Increasing brake performance is not always down to increasing disc size - if you use a decent quality disc with the right brake pad (compound) then you could easily increase performance without going to too much expense. Following on from the above premise, I can offer stock size (ie 296mm) DBA wiper-slot discs and Porterfield R4-S (Carbon-Kevlar) pads. This combination will set you back approximately £296.00 for 4000-series DBA discs (or £210.00 for "normal" discs) and £75.00 for the Porterfield pads. This, incidentally, is for the front axle only. More info: http://www.smithys-place.co.uk/brakes.php If you want to discuss this further please feel free to contact me. Regards,
  10. Hi Guys, Just been pointed in the direction of this thread by Znut (thanks mate!) and thought I'd give my 2p (as I sell these by the bucketload!) For the 300ZX you'll need a HID-PRO H3 kit for your dip-beam - this is by far the most popularly sold car to Z32 owners. There is no need to opt for the much more expensive HID-Ultimate kit as this is really only for post 2002 cars that have ECU controlled (ie BMW Canbus) headlight systems. I will be open for business as usual from Monday 9am. I can be contacted on 0845 4744-382. Kits will usually be delivered within 48 hours of placing your order provided they are in stock. If not in stock please add another 24~48 hours. For more information please see: http://www.smithys-place.co.uk/hid.php For your 300ZX (Z32) you'll need: HID002 - HID-Pro Conversion Kit (H3/6000K): £91.00 DEL002 - Royal Mail Special Delivery: £8.95 TOTAL = £99.95 I can also strongly recommend you purchase a pair of ultra bright LED sidelights which match the colour of your HID kit: BLB014 - 501/1W Ultra Bright LED (6000K) - pair: £12.00 As for stating that HID kits are for "off road use only" - this is a legal disclaimer which all resellers should display. Officially, HID kits should not be retrofitted into headlight systems which are not originally made to work with HID kits. This has to do with E-marks and other regulations. However, in practice - and to the best of my knowledge - none of my customers have ever been pulled over and fined for using HID kits and none of the cars have ever failed an MOT. If anyone wishes to dicuss this further then please get in touch. Regards,
  11. I've got some NGK PFR6B-11B's coming into stock in about 10 days time. £68.00 + £4.20 p+p for a set of 6. Let me know if you'd like to reserve a set. Regards,
  12. As with everything body work related - the finish is in the preparation. Make sure you completely sand them down, prep them and then use several thin layers of paint. The end result should then last many more years!
  13. Correct, both JDM and UK Z32's take H3 bulbs when retrofitting HID's. HOWEVER, fitting to a JDM is straight forward, fitting to a UK car requires a conversion lead (from female spade to female bullet). Easily done.
  14. Hi, First of all, apologies for the redirect to Smithy's Place ... I'm working on setting up the DTA website for e-commerce and it is taking much longer than I anticipated. Smithy's Place is also ours and you're right, we don't list the EFI harness. That's basically due to the fact that they are getting incredibly difficult to get hold of. If you are serious about obtaining one I will do my best to source one for you. Alternatively, I can easily get the correct amount of injector connectors, coil pack connectors, etc with a bit of wiring loom attached ready to be soldered onto your existing EFI harness. Please get in touch if you wish to discuss further. Regards,
  15. Cyrus, As far as I know, none of the (pre-1999) 300ZX's ever had adjustable headlights so that switch is probably for something else like heated seats or suspension ...
  16. Hi Cyrus, Just saw your post re: hard pipe kits and thought I'd better chime in! Our Smithy's Place hard pipe kits (both boost and radiator pipe kits) are made from mandrel bent mirror polished stainless steel. Our silicone couplers are manufactured in the UK to the highest industry standards and are generally 4-ply plus additional liner - so extremely robust. We offer a choice of fixing clamps - either stainless jubilee clips (free of charge) or stainless T-bolt clamps (additional cost applies). To give you an idea of pricing: Boost Pipe Kit: £240.00 Radiator Pipe Kit (top & bottom): £140.00 T-Bolt Clamps (boost pipe kit): £40.00 T-Bolt Clamps (radiator pipe kit): £20.00 Delivery is £9.00 for either kit. We also do mirror polished stainless intake pipes for the NA which comes in at £190.00 Your choice of silicone couplers are Red, Blue or Black. Any other colours are by special order only and at an additional cost. Hope the above answers your question at least in regard to the Smithy's Place pipes :) If you wish to discuss further or place an order, please give me a call on 0845 4744-382. All the best, Dan
  17. Sure can - but you'll need to be more specific about which hoses you're looking to replace. Some are straight forward others will be pre-formed. Best to give me a call on Monday (0845 4744-382) to discuss. Regards, Dan
  18. Hi Murt, Could be a few reasons. Can you check that all the pins are making good contact with the diagnostic plug - sometimes one gets bend or pushed back too far to make contact. Otherwise I hope Eric (Lymon) will chime in with his words of wisdom. Regards,
  19. Hi all, Please see my last post in the "Massive Sale" thread over in the DTA-Motorsport (UK) traders section. I'm proposing to end this sale on Monday 19th October at midnight and am offering another 10% off the already rock-bottom sale prices! With the impending postal strikes next week I'm hopeful to get all the orders shipped out on Tuesday for delivery on Wednesday. After that I can't guarantee a delivery date. So grab your bargains NOW as these prices will not be repeated! As usual - no PM's, no dibs. Payment through paypal secures your purchase. Please remember to add 3% if your order is UNDER £50.00. I'm off now but will check back tomorrow afternoon and Sunday. Have a great weekend everyone!
  20. I'm with Anthony on this one ... Chinese "silicone" contains very little of the stuff and is notorious for being very poor quality. What hoses do you need - I stock practically every kind of straight length, coupler, reducer, elbow and vacuum hose ... in red/blue/black
  21. Yes it is. I've seen your pm and will respond shortly. Regards, Dan
  22. Sorry chaps - forgot to put the price in my previous post. ConZult (Z32 with ROM reader & free postage): £265.00 Option: USB-RS232 converter: £15.00 (only applicable if your laptop doesn't have a serial port) HTH Dan
  23. Definitely worth having if you plan on keeping the car long-term. The DTA-Motorsport ConZult does everything that the official Nissan Consult equipment and then some more. To boot it is 100x more user friendly to use and comes with a comprehensive user manual that contains all the fault codes, etc. Of course the software does far more than just report fault codes - it is in fact a real-time engine monitoring system that also allows you to run diagnostics on the engine, A/T gearbox, A/C system and HICAS system - all at the click of a button. There are cheaper alternatives out there but the DTA ConZult is definitely the LAST WORD in Z32 diagnostic equipment. As with all other diagnostic packages - you will need to be able to "interpret" what the equipment is telling you. This may be "hit-n-miss" initially but eventually you will get the hang of it. If you ever take your car to a Nissan dealer for a diagnostic session you're likely to pay in the region of £60~£100 for the privilege and you still won't be any wiser. This means that the cost of the ConZult is recouped in 4~5 visits to a dealer! Lastly, every registered ConZult is backed up by a full support contract and free software upgrades for as long as you own the equipment. You won't find that with any of the other diagnostic kits on the market. If you wish to discuss this further or place an order please get in touch (0845 4744-382). Regards,
  24. It is indeed a part of the maturation process for dogs. It is actually not a desire to mate but a need to "dominate" everything. He'll grow out of it sooner rather than later.
