Buy a Brand New Aston Martin for £20,000
Blimey, that's an old article. More recent update: The Aston Martin Cygnet (based on Toyota iQ) will cost in the region of £50k and will initially only be offered to current Aston Martin owners. Although it is being "marketed" as a city car the concensus is that it is indeed AM's way of reducing the overall CO2 figure for their entire range as per the EU directive. I think you'll see a lot more "prestige" marques bringing our these types of cars. Having said the above, there is a chap with a Toyota iQ who lives around the corner from me and it's a cracking looking little car - much more interesting than say a Smart. The alterations that AM have made to the exterior of the car will probably make it look the part (more so than the Toyota) but I really can't see it being worth £50k! My 2p worth. ;)

Import parts pro any body used them
That's because there are a lot of additional costs involved in shipping over a clutch. FWIW - you're looking at approximately US$80~US$120 in shipping costs (clutch will weigh about 10kg's) plus about 24% of total consignment value for import duty, VAT and handling fees. This can easily add at least GB£200~GB£250 to cost. Then there is the mark up for the UK based business as well ...

Conzult / consult
It'll probably come with the freeware version of the DTA-Motorsport ConZult software = very limited in its use. The full (software only) version of our ConZult diagnostic software will work with "most" 3rd party cables and costs £150 for the ZX version. For £275 you'll get the complete ConZult kit including hardware, software, rom reader, user manual and free support.

F A O Dan [Dta]
I suppose it would work BUT you won't be entitled to the free and unlimited tech support and that is what this is mostly about. There haven't been any software developments since version 2.4 came out quite some time ago. Over to you ... ;) Regards,

F A O Dan [Dta]
Hi Dave, Yes, if the new owner wishes to continue using the ConZult equipment with a valid support contract then he needs to get in touch with me and pay £35 for the new support contract. This will entitle him to free software upgrades and unlimited tech support for as long has he owns the equipment. Same for you, if you wish to purchase a new support contract for your new equipment then get in touch with me for payment. In both instances the important info is the serial number of the interface box and the owner's new contact details. Congratulations on the purchase of Stuart's old car! :) Regards,

Anyone going to japfest in May
Yup, I'll be there but in a Honda NSX with the NSX Owners Club :) Won't be bringing a trade stand this year but if anyone wants me to bring any parts please let me know. Will probably start a new thread in the DTA-Motorsport section in the next couple of days. See you all there!

pcv valves and pipes
As stated above, no easy way to clean the old hoses - plus they usually perish when removed from the engine anyway ... I can supply a new set of PCV valves and 5 hoses for £95.00 incl. delivery. Regards,

Carbon Fibre
You could try contacting Fibre-Lyte (http://www.fibre-lyte.co.uk). They do mostly carbon fibre parts for bikes and kit cars but are a friendly bunch and will look at any other projects. However, be forewarned that raw carbon fibre material has shot up in price astronomically which means it won't be economical to have a single item designed and manufactured. I normally get CF parts made in batches of 20 to make it financially worth while but at the current material cost I can't afford to do such a limited production run anymore ...

120k service
Hi, The Courtesy kit seems cheaper because it doesn't include shipping (approx. $80~$90 for the kit), import duty/VAT & handling charges. If you add all that together you still end up with an approximate price of £580-ish. Our kit is slightly more expensive because (a) the parts are primarily sourced direct through Nissan UK and (b) the parts come with a UK-based warranty (something that is not offered on any US-sourced kit). Either way, the choice is of course yours but don't be misinformed by lower US$-based prices. Regards,

Evo calipers. What size discs can i use
Jonce, I'm copying/pasting what I wrote some time ago in the "other" EVO caliper vs disc thread: Of course you can go with either GTR or 350Z sized discs (ie, 324x30mm) but the off-sets will be different in each case. Basically, whatever discs you get you'll need to get the disc, caliper and hub over to an engineering firm in order for them to fabricate the correct caliper mounting bracket. HTH Regards,

Injectors/Plenum pull
Not sure if injectors can be tested in situ using a multimeter - someone with more knowledge on that front will be along soon no doubt. With regard to gaskets, etc. required, you're looking at a plenum gasket and some upper and lower injector O-rings. If you're removing the whole fuel rail you may also wish to consider buying the fuel rail-to-plenum seals (assuming you only pull one fuel rail you'll only need three of these seals as opposed to six). If this is all you're doing then the above will be sufficient. However, if you alos remove the throttle bodies (not necessary) then I you'll also need new throttle body gaskets. Let me know once you've decided which parts you need and I'd be happy to provide you with a quotation. Regards,

FAO Dan @ DTA
Hi Paul, Just to keep you up-to-date, I've still not had a response from Stillen - hopefully later today or otherwise tomorrow. If you drop me a PM with your contact number and/or e-mail addy it will be easier to contact you with the correct information (rather than it getting lost in this thread). Regards,

Hi Paul, No problem - let me get in touch with Stillen to see what price they can do me and what shipping works out to. Will let you know ASAP. Regards, Dan

illuminated sill/kick plates
These have indeed been discontinued quite some time ago. Primary reason was failing inverters and water ingress problems on the EL panel. Very expensive to redesign and the demand is simply not there to warrant the R&D cost. I only have access to ONE last set (red illumination). I will only sell this set with the clear understanding that the sills are sold AS IS. There is NO WARRANTY offered whatsoever. All I can guarantee is that the sills work as and when they leave my premises - whatever happens after that is not covered. Price wise, you can have this last set for £125.00 including delivery - this is a lot less than what they originally sold for. Please let me know if you're interested. And before anyone else jumps on the bandwagon, Bigmo300zx has first refusal on this last pair of indiglo sills. Regards,

Post office
LOL! Royal Mail is just about as predictable as Nissan! ;) Hope the parcels turn up soon.

Post office
To use the Royal Mail website tracking tool you need to remove the spaces between the number. However, that will just say that the postie tried to deliver the parcel(s) at a specific time on a specific date - nothing more. Other than that, Special Delivery items have a blue semi-circle at the end of a white label. Recorded Delivery also have a blue semi-circle but it's at the end of a cream/yellow label. Best thing to do is to take the "while you were out" card to your local post depot (address should be on the card) unless it CLEARLY states that the parcels were taken to your local post office (not likely to be the case). On occassion I've had up to 6 different stickers on one card and the chaps at the post depot sorted them all out without any problem. Just remember to take some form of ID with you that clearly states your postal address. HTH

what size pipes do i need? :(
Just a general reply for the sake of any future referrals back to this post (and this isn't aimed at Damien as I've just spoken to him): DO NOT use VACUUM hoses for COOLANT, OIL or FUEL applications - it will disintegrate over a short period of time. This includes the PCV system as it carries oil contaminated air. Vacuum hoses on a Z32 are typically ID (internal diameter) 4mm, 6mm and 8mm - we do a Z32 specific vacuum hose kit. Coolant hoses on a Z32 (excluding radiator hoses) are typically ID 8mm and 12mm. These hoses can only be replaced by SILICONE tubing (is different to vacuum hoses). We stock/sell every conceivable diameter of silicone tubing in metre lengths. Unfortunately, I do not know how much tubing you need of each diameter to perform the Throttle Body water by-pass and to replace all the other coolant hoses dotted around the engine. Once I do know I will update this post. HTH

Brake Disc Stuff!
Hi, FYI - the centre bore of front (and rear) Z32 discs is in fact 68mm. This is rather a large difference to overcome and if it was me I wouldn't do it - too much of a risk. By the way, what calipers will you be using? Only asking because 34mm thick discs are quite unusual. If you decide to change your mind about the discs and need some alternatives then please let me know. I deal with AP Racing quite a lot and they can sort out floating discs of almost any dimension and off-set. Regards,

what size pipes do i need? :(
Yes, I do supply silicone tubing of all lengths and diameters but unfortunately I don't know what combination will do "all" of the Z32 hoses that Damian wants to replace ... I have spoken to Damien last week about this and advised him to find out what he needs and then get back to me - guess he's asking anyone who's done it on here ... ;)

Rear R33 GTR Brembos Fitment
Hi mate - how's it going?! :) Thought I'd chime in with some info that I've got to hand. The R33GT-R (RB26DETT) uses 300mm, 22mm thick, 68mm centre bore discs which will fit the rear hub of the Z32 without problems. However, the stock Z32 rear discs are 292mm, 18mm thick affairs (which is the same as the R32GT-R RB26DET). I don't know this from personal experience so please don't take my word for gospel but I do believe that the R33GT-R rear caliper will bolt on directly onto the Z32 hub without problems. I know that the fronts do so it stands to reason that the rears do as well but as you know nothing is ever "straight forward" where it concerns Nissan cars ;) LOL. As for the braided brake lines, the ones you've got should be fine to go into the new Brembo calipers (I believe it takes the same 10x1mm male adapter as the Z32 caliper). I'm afraid I don't know anything about the bolt thread (pitch) or caliper pins so can't help with that. Hope that the above has been of some use to you. All the best,

happy birthday DTA(uk)
Awwww, thanks for ALL your birthday wishes guys! It's more like "commiserations" than "congratulations" at this age but I'm still planning on having a good time. Finishing work in a couple of hours and then it's out for a meal with my better half! :D ATB Dan

main beam bulb
That is actually correct! The three prongs are part of the bulb "converter" (so to speak). Basically, the H1 bulb slots into this converter which in turn is secured to the back of the headlight by the spring clips. So you actually have an H1 bulb in there, not H4 (H4 is a twin filament bulb and rather larger than H1 or H3). HTH All the best,
