I've used my old lappy with serial port and win xp pro no issues then I've upgraded my lappy and been resistant to using USB to serial but I've installed a converter running vista No problems either as long as u instal correct driver for converter it should be fine check in device manager to make sure :)

dont forget to add that when you rebuild the engine the added cost of new turbos as it would be silly not to replace them at this stage??

have you selcted serial or usb on port setting, as u will have to select serial even if ur using usb converter rich

I think they were designed as a safeguard if the propshaft fell off or exhaust it wouldn't pole vault ur zed

cheers guys the blitz gauges ive had for years ut in the zed there is never a god place to fit owt so this was my last option before putting them in the glove box lol rich

if its still difficult to to locate cos of the loom ya can always take out the clocks to get to it properly rich

in the drivers door there is the main relay in a black box most likely circuit burnt out, prise plastic cover off and you might find its burnt a track out, iff not replace it rich

just bough some chrome interior door handles for the zed off the terrano was a bit pricey but£43 deliverd should look better than the tacky plastic ones :) rich

you can use arc welder using 1.6 mm rods and as long as the metal is reasonable it will tack weld ok did it for years when i was a apprentice lol rebuild all my escorts up with a stick welder lol rich

have you swapped the window relay in the drivers door panel ( controls one touch function as well) rich
