  1. oh yeah i remember that now you mention it Paul....:D re the solicitor / barrister...yep you can now directly approach a barrister whereas before you always had to go to a solicitor...and you need a barrister for the HC...though i hear some solicitors are going to be called to the bar...god knows how that works never used it myself anyways in the high court stuff i've done lately it always been a case that a solicitor employed a QC as part of the deal...though this is usually a junior not a silk (top guy in the chamber)...hence costs are less...just come out of a case took 2 morning sessions...the cost for solicitor & barrister was @ £650 all in @ £100p/h...less that some garages charge....esp merc main dealers... :D
  2. best thing about the high court is (if) you can use a sheriff enforcement officer to enforce your judgement, however not all debts can go to the high court, or can be enforced by a SEO...depends on a lot of things charges against property are usually allowed if the debtor says its ok either by mutual consent or voluntary charge or they dont know their rights, as in most other cases before a creditor can get a charge against assests the debtor actually has to default on a court order....in my exp the high court solicitor costs are never £1000's a day a few hundred quid over the course of a couple of hearings is about the norm....the big bills often reported by the press are reserved for appeals, corporate law or class actions etc regards chris
  3. 10% sounds about right but the cost of claiming are added to any successful claim including solicitors cost but those are limited @ £70 per claim...you can add and charge interest of course...so not all bad :)......but the maxim still holds true its cost money to chase money as you have to pay the upfront costs of claiming etc unless you're on tax credits n benefits when you can lodge small claims for free :D
  4. first try the gearbox diagnostic....check andy p's site or search on here might be something thrown up if you do the check in most cases losing gears means its had it...IIRC you could try changing oil to Lucas ATF not sure which one but i think Andy P recommended it as being bullet proof....failing that its a case of getting a working box off a breaker (cheaper though make sure the previous owner isnt a thrash/track day nutter) or recon (as per +£1k)
  5. new are hard to source and expensive i think i only ever seen 1 for sale as new and it was in the states so post wasnt an option...i think the box nissan used in Z32's are borg warner's...TBH most boxes for sale are going to be used or recon
  6. well its probably a clutch pack...expensive to fix and you need special tools...so its a recon job at a autobox place @ £1200-£1300...you can try changing the fluid but thats usually when its slipping IIRC...however taking the gearbox sump off will show up any particles...if it has bits in the bottom then yep a band/clutch or similar has burnt up
  7. it costs money to chase money all too true...but if anyone here wants any help with this sort of issue get in touch as i have a debt collection and debt counselling license and lots of experience in the debt/credit industry....i cant promise to make everyone a winner when things go wrong but as i'm often saying you dont get what you deserve you get what you can negotiate
  8. jap school new school old drool
  9. you'll prob need to roll the rear arches to fit 19's....depends how wide they are really...also kyb shocks n suitable springs to get the car a bit lower completes the look...powerflow can do stock back boxes if i recall do a google.....welcome to the club...have fun

  15. kids dont spoil themselves...parents do it...often by doing nothing or letting them get away with murder (not literally)....this adult runs the risk of becoming a spoilt brat if she thinks mum n dad will sub her to such a great extent
  16. mate i got 4 kids love em all....but i also love em equally enough to make them independent well rounded people...they will take advantage of your good nature almost all kids are programmed to do this...sometime you need to exercise tough love its one of the hardest things you can ever do as a parent...they wont always do things you're proud of...but thats the point about developing as an adult and having your own space...they need to have their own rules n space not change yours in your space in respect of the overall problem try this....put her rent up by @ £250 then save it for her....in 4 months you give her £1000 and say here's your deposit you couldnt save for getting your own pad
