just an idea but why not let them take the car follow them home and take the wheels off once they lay it up on bricks or axel stands.....?

if the jack failed and its new, its going to be under warrenty, take pics of the damage send the jack back to the RAC / shop etc along with a claim for the damage it caused...at the least ask for your money back thankfully no-one was injured...good luck
