  2. i plan to fit a 3 inch back box pipe to the existing 2.5 inch cat pipe what would be the best way to join them?
  3. of where all the vac n boost hoses go on passenger side of a TT...tried looking in the manual but its not all that clear to me i have the tech aus300zx link as well but could do with some clear large pics if anyone has taken some hopefully with the throttle body pipes off cheers chris

    dont bother pulling the old ones off just cut them...saves a lot of puff...but dont drop the clips :D oh and you can run a little bit of washing up liquid on the new hose ends so they slip over the pipe ends easier
  5. its a 3 rib belt.....good tip mate anyways i found the type in halfrauds its a drive belt with 3 ribs part no HB913d fits perfect
  6. mark....good plan i like it matt....oh yes the alignment what fun :D
  7. engine back in today...many many thanks Matt aka MTL ....anyways the power steering belt i had was for earlier series zeds they have bigger power steering units than mine so what i wanted to know is there a v-belt for the series 4 power steering which has a equiv to be found in halfords etc so i can crack on tomorrow cheers
  8. try this http://www.es-ab.se/z-car/Fuelleak.html
  9. indian zx was its previous owner IIRC ;)
  10. you need engine by numbers....:D http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=26120 check number 28 its a damper apparently :wack:
  11. you should clean the throttle bodies...carb cleaner and some rag....then worry about adjusting things smell of fuel....it could be the regulator on top of the plenum the hose clamps need nipping up often you cant see it leak as it runs down the pipe and evaporates off
  12. just so you know i'm not an oil expert but back to your point oilman . Hydrocracked/Hydroisomerized = API Group III base oils. Chevron, Shell, and other petrochemical companies developed processes involving catalytic conversion of feed stocks under pressure in the presence of hydrogen into high quality mineral lubricating oil. In 2005 production of GTL (Gas-to-liquid) Group III base stocks began. The best of these perform much like polyalphaolefin[citation needed]. Group III base stocks are considered synthetic motor oil in North America[1], but not in the European Union. ...so its actually true to say synth oil on sale in the EU is synth oil as hydro cracked oils arent allowed to be marketed in the EU as synthetic furthermore whilst there are advantages to synth oil there are disadvantages and they should be aired Advantages The technical advantages of synthetic motor oils include: Measurably better low and high temperature viscosity performance[citation needed] Better chemical & shear stability Decreased evaporative loss[citation needed] Resistance to oxidation, thermal breakdown and oil sludge problems Extended drain intervals with the environmental benefit of less oil waste.[citation needed] Improved fuel economy in certain engine configurations.[citation needed] Better lubrication on cold starts Disadvantages The disadvantages of synthetic motor oils include: Initial costs are usually four times greater than petroleum-based oils, though at one time, man-made oils cost ten times more than petroleum[citation needed]. Initial costs are often mitigated by extended change intervals, which individuals may confirm through used oil analysis (UOA). The lower friction may make them unsuitable for break-in (i.e. the initial run-in period of the vehicle) where friction is desirable to cause wear. Improved engine part machining has made break-in less critical than it once was though. Many modern cars now come with synthetic oil as a factory fill. Potential decomposition problems in certain chemical environments (industrial use dominantly) Potential stress cracking of plastic components like POM (polyoxymethylene) in the presence of PAOs (polyalphaolefins). Potential on some older pushrod race engines with roller lifters for the roller itself not to spin with camshaft movement, but rather slide while the roller itself remains either stationary or at a lower circumferential speed than that of the camshaft lobe[citation needed] In July 1996, Consumer Reports published the results of a two year motor oil test involving a fleet of 75 New York taxi cabs and found no noticeable advantage of synthetic oil over regular oil[2]. In their article, they noted that "Big-city cabs don't see many cold start-ups or long periods of high speed driving in extreme heat. But our test results relate to the most common type of severe service - stop-and-go city driving." According to their study, synthetic oil is "worth considering for extreme driving conditions: high ambient temperatures and high engine load, or very cold temperatures." [3] This research was criticized by some because most engine damage appears to be caused by cold starts, and their research method may not have included enough cold starts to be representative of personal vehicle use.[4]
  13. seeing as i know nothing about your motor zeds go for between £100-£10000 depending on the condition, spec, mods and mot n tax left....TBH bud its easier to check what has been sold on the forum earlier and you'll see what goes for how much so you can price / compare yours accordingly hope this helps
  14. if you're going to the RR day i wouldnt worry too much as this protest is likley to get held up by traffic if they use the m25 on a saturday so they will be running a lot later than they hope :D
  15. nice clip bud....what was the top speed there at the end?
  16. hahaha....very funny stu but good idea all the same re the welding a rod / hook
  17. its all a by product what comes out of an oil field unless you know of an engine which runs on crude oil ;)
  18. looking for the turbo to exhaust one what size are they as i have one missing also anyone know what stud size it is on the cats to back box as one missing there too :D
  19. an educated guess? :wack::p
  20. the name of those flat headed stud things that go round the top edge of a trailer so you can hook the bungee cord over and under them and keep the tarp from flying off ? cheers
