jefftt posted up something about this a while back...do a search....IIRC there is a few sensors which throw up the hicas light even if the fluid is topped up etc

you're locked out of the zed? i'd get a mobile auto key specialist...i know a guy called dave but he's way down south so not worth trying him but just so you know he'd hand cut a key for @ £80...cheaper than busting a window and less messy once in then remove ignition relay / fuel pump relay...that will do the trick

could be the Fuel Pressure Regulator or fuel dampner are leaking under load esp if you smell petrol...they are common source of leaks under the hood...do a search and you'll see what and where they are

just so you know most auto box fluid is red too...it would seem unlikely to be the case given from what you seen / location....its a very messy and tight area of the car to see clearly...with the fan and belts spinning it can get flung about all over...as above check by going full lock engine running and a bright torch to spot where its running from...watch out for your head n hands that fan is very close

was it drivers side....near to the front of car? could just be just that the high pressure hose washers on the banjo fittings are loose or leaking....either nip them up (big spanner/socket 24mm?) or get new washers if you have an auto zed it could be gearbox fluid leaking from somewhere? you might have to jack her up get under and have a look around with a torch etc cheers
