oh for sure its not magic...is a stunt with very clever props organised by the man who is the very living devil :D...i was interested to see the balls were pure white and from getting the brief look the numbers didnt look hand drawn with a pen...more (computer?) generated so i thought....not sure the balls could have been all white and the TV people super-imposed the numbers on top with graphics as they were being turned round by hand and i would have expected a slight wobble with the black number text or some misalignment etc...its possible but far more technical than a cheap lazer etc...i'd been really stumped if the balls were in a bag all jumbled up and he just rolled them out...but on that stand they were dead level set evenly and precise distance...easy to focus a beam on i reckon

i got a theory on how he did this...friday will confirm it of course....i reckon the balls are coated with thermal material or are made from thermal stuff like the till reciepts/ old fax paper rolls....and a (frikkin) lazer beam mounted in the back wall burnt the figures on as they were being announced...well thats how i'd do it :D

cheers :wack: on the skim thing...i was told to avoid skimming for the sake of it at all costs because if and when you really do need a skim (serious failure/overheat) there isnt enough left to do it if you have done a "might as well do it as we have the heads off" type of skim....imagine a gasket as thick as the bible :D

you sure its warped bud? its possible for sure but you didnt go far and not for long either from what you wrote...try getting a really straight steel rule first and run it over the surfaces before rushing off for skimming...lots of mech's will say yeah needs a skim but how often is it really necessary...do the check first and you might be surprised

full respray + those bits for 2-4k is cheap enough but you could get a whole 2nd hand E class car for that...i'd chop her in for spares and get something less rusty with the money

i'd pop the top hose off to stop the rad re-filling from the block then undo the rad drain cock and measure what comes out of the rad.....but to be honest that seems like a faff...just buy 10l of coolant i dont imagine the howe would hold very much more than a stock rad...so with that in mind normal system is @ 10l...maybe its 10% bigger so @ 11l with the howe? so you need 5.5l coolant if that makes sense...then you get 4.5l left over for some other car etc :)

nice post bud...as he states why is there so much of this stuff getting through customs...a little i know of how it might work in the UK....i know a guy (through my work) who had an entire shipment of trainers stopped at the docks a couple of years back he got sued and billed £££££'s by the copyright owners as they were all fakes...he thought he was dealing with the trainer manufacturing overseas wholesale division and getting a good deal on pukka gear as he bought in bulk...he was scammed himself basically by the crooks who sent it over but he of course couldnt go and sue them for as it turned out they live in china.....be warned folks and do loads of due dilligence before importing stuff esp notable brand goods as the customs officers have most wanted sheets at the docks and act as they eyes and ears of designer brands in stopping and checking the goods with the copyright owners....i suspect for every container that gets stopped and busted there are 2 getting through but someone probably an unsupecting UK buyer is going to get a nasty surprise....one of the downsides to the internet i guess you search the web see a wholesale price overseas which is better than the UK (legit distributor) so you think hell why not email them and place an order and make a better margin but lose sight of the possibilty there are no legit wholesalers in that territory you are emailing so all you are going to get are a box of fakes (at least) or worse sued and no come back either way
