interesting to see the malarial bit mentioned in the letter above, i was reading last night that Oliver Cromwell (1640's) had malaria after living in the Fens!......and in another of my british history book the north kent coast in the 1700's were almost completley uninhabited as they too were malerial and so made a great secret hide away / landing spots for the smuggling gangs.......and today....all gone! :D

IIRC all this is data they used on temps back in the 60's & 70's relied upon something like over 6000 weather stations.....now owing to progress/cutbacks/centralisation/wars/changes in govt's etc we are down to 1000 for this data.....bit like comparing apples with oranges dont you think?

well i like debates and dont subscribe to the website lists thing either Craig (but its fair to say the pro CC people that use consensus argument to gain credit when they shouldnt need to, the facts / evidence should do that) that said do your friends and family they think tree rings are accurate indicators of temp then? do they know of the Miskolczi-principle ? do they think people and or scientists with alternative views/theorys should be allowed to debate CC with the IPCC, goverments and or AL Gore or should their be only one point of view (dont want to confuse the public now do we)? do they know you burn peoples feet with hot crack pipes? :D

he would say that wouldnt he :D i fully understand the point he is making above, PR companies do it every day for their clients but there was more to it than just the odd quote out of context...lots more...as per he gives no comment into the tree rings data....fundemental and important stuff it cant be avoided....he still bangs on saying there is consensus....no there isnt....he loses all credibility on doing/saying such things...when reading the above i cant quite forget this quote "As we all know, this isn’t about truth at all; it’s about plausibly deniable accusations."...he just fulfilled that one by responding in this way...integrity is easy to loose, very Hard to Restore personally i may change my mind one day but to be honest its a case of men in white coats saying they know best and how dare you think otherwise...no real and proper scientist (in my eyes) would respond in this way or act they way they did in dealing with those who dont follow their narrow agenda, Mann does not (want to) understand the difference between science that has been critically reviewed and science that has been Buddy Reviewed (by others who share his view). peer review anyone? :D

LOL...CD where have you been mate?...read the email exchanges its all laid out clear as day, lots of people dont agree with them there is no consensus in the scientific world on this issue (they however try to cover up this fact) so they go on to ignore it and adjust their reports to suit the case for climate change. the way they treated the tree rings evidence is jaw-dropping but hey ho its money (ours) :D

lol thats one way of putting it pete...not sure i'd fit the full 99 kit better to be a little different as i think even the 99 look is looking a little dated still think its an awful lot of cash to part with for a stock zed....same budget gets a lot of (older) car and of course when you upgrade bits n bobs you know whats been done...all that knowledge/experience is no bad thing when it comes to zed ownership...stock zeds will still go wrong etc

i think its a bit of waste of dosh imho....i mean you can get 1994 model for lot less money and do all your heart desires for less than the cost of the stock 99 ones.... basically (as i recall it) all the changes with ecu's on the later ones version r etc mean you can't re-prog them very easily / upgrade...the other changes are just trim n paint as above you can do all of that to your exact spec for less than the cost of importing

any ideas or top tips on coping with this freeze/snow etc...chuck em here. i'll kick off....i phoned my mate other day and he was busy in the garage sharpeneing his golf shoe spikes....i said i cant believe you're going to be playing golf in this weather and he said no he bought a pair at a boot fair just for the icy weather and can now walk down the hill to the shops with ease....i think of them as surburban crampons :D

yeah its probaly sensor related paul, one might be open circuit etc you got series one pods i guess, there is a set up/test thing in the manual which allows you to force the air to different vents and at different speeds and check readings etc, its a bugger to remember how to use the mode but if i can find the link i'll post it up. happy xmas old bean chris
