win the lottery
on a derren brown tip...if you play regulary do you want to increase you chances of winning the lottery? buy another ticket maybe? nope the answer is simply to choose random numbers...ala the lucky dip David Spiegelhalter wrote this interesting article on the uk lottery results winning and rollovers Consider a lottery in which there are N possible number combinations - in the UK Lottery N = 13,983,816. Each ticket therefore has a 1N chance of sharing in the jackpot. Suppose we sell N tickets, what is the chance of nobody winning the jackpot? What if we sell 2N ? The chances are shown below, and hold whatever N is, provided it is large! Chance that nobody wins the lottery if we sell N tickets Table showing that, if N is large, the chance of nobody winning ranges from 37% if N tickets are sold to 1% if 5N tickets are sold. Numbers of tickets sold - % Chance nobody wins N 37% 2N 13% 3N 5% 4N 2% 5N 1% On average around 37,000,000 tickets have been sold for each draw, around 2.6N , and so there should be a 7% chance that no-one wins and there is a rollover, assuming lottery ticket numbers are chosen at random. Of course this is not the case (unless they use the Lucky Dip option) and people tend to choose particular patterns of numbers that feature birthdates and so on, which would increase the rollover rate. Up to June11th 2008 there had been 1301 draws and 234 rollovers (18%), many more than would be expected if people picked numbers at random.

Is inner-city Britain the worst place on earth to live?
very sad story and i know only what was written so take it at face value, but i think this lady was clearly mentally ill and wickedly selfish to end her childs life because she couldnt cope there seems to be no evidence her adult child agreed to a suicide pact, only recently someone i knew very well doused herself in petrol and ended her life, mercifully she took none of her children with her but her long standing mental health issues were never dealt with. i feel there is a rise in highly sensitive children (maybe brought on by neurotic parents?) who for reasons best known to themselves become or feel persecuted by people they dont even speak too and all too often where the rough and tumble of life would be brushed off cant let go of these feelings and they develop in to deep-seated fear of others and their intentions, school teachers i know are inundated with parents complaing that kid X said or looked funny at my child and they feel very scared hurt etc etc. its as if the threshold for interaction has been lowered by some very soft/sensitive people, dont get me wrong i have lived in a beruit style street and stressful as it was being confronted by other peoples lifestyles we never got our sense of proportion distorted by these incidences

Your not going to believe this!! the worse gets worse!
simply ask them for their invoice with a full list of all works carried out, have a list of your parts with you tick them off as recieved / removed when you take the car, note any running problems / condition etc, take detailed pics. then dont pay the bill and invite them to take you to court, file a counterclaim and have it out with the judge its apparent from everything you have posted they are not negotiable people so let the court decide, chances are they wont take you to court if they refuse to hand over the car / lock you out, get N1 claim from from your local county court file a claim for an order to return the vehicle / parts...any problems call me i've helped a couple of members out in this area quite successfully cheers chris

Stereo : No need for external antenna
plaz...think you're on the button there mate...FM is usually single strand and am aerials are looped....i'm thinking of biting the bullet and going DAB in the car...head unit plus DAB aerial @ £250 fitted and you do need a DAB spec aerial it wont work half as good from the FM type

hot news on Renault F1
such ego's the gall of it all is staggering...still briatore is close pals with Bernie so always got football matches to go and fix...wonder if he meets the fit and proper FA ownership test in light of this? heres an interesting snippet on his close friendship with alonso 50-year-old Briatore married the 28-year-old 'Wonderbra' model Elisabetta Gregoraci, on 14 June 2008. The driver of the bridal car was Fernando Alonso. After the ceremony, Alonso drove the newlyweds to the reception at the Castello di Torcrescenza.

got a nice reposte to the americans who disagree with the scots on this issue ..so lets take massive numbers of murdered civilians...find a man guilty...send him to life in jail...then release him after 2 days to huge outrage.....who was that...oh it was Lt Calley guilty of the My Lai massacre in vietnam....memories can be so short sometimes funnily enough he has only just spoken about it.... On August 19, 2009, Lt. Calley made his first public apology for the massacre in a speech to the Kiwanis club of Greater Columbus Georgia.
