  1. I have read through some of the topics on this and then the clock fix on: http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnettech/clock/clock.html In the steps to fix the clock in the link, it looks like that clock has 2 boards that need seperated? However my clock/board is one complete piece. So are the steps just the same minus the board seperation? Also wondering is there a fuse for the clock and if so which one is it as I dont see it listed in the hand manual or any of the fuse box covers? Its a UK car also.
  2. I've been reading through some of the seat belt retract problems but couldnt see anything related to a UK car. The drivers side one is very slow to retract and was wondering is there a diy fix for it?
  3. I know there are differences like the heated seats, directional climate control, the alcantara round the door and dash, dual electric seats but what else was upgraded on the Series II?
  4. Yeah they might do alright Vini! but at moment the likes of the early 89/90++ Z has become a vehicle that really is not worth importing, unless you get someone who is willing to pay up front and just wants a one. With the YEN being strong and all the costs involved etc, allot of importers that I know including myself wont even touch a ZX now because you can get them already in the UK registered tax and mot for less than what a good one can be imported for. I'm a huge Z fan myself obviously having owned them from 1994, and I have though about importing a late 99/2000 car a few times to test the market and see if there would be any real enthusiasts that would pay £12k+++ for one.
  5. Thanks for the update Vini! There are also some 2000 registered ZX's in Japan too that are fetching around £18k with 5,000 miles, manual TT.
  6. Probably a stupid question but, I dont quite understand the question Vini?
  7. Depending on the car it can be anything form £900++ But as you said, there is no guarantee, so if it fails you have to keep repeating the process and fixing the issues it fails on, till you get it through. But anyone with a bit of knowledge can do allot of prep work first and keeps the cost down. Also remember that once a model report is created it can then rented by other individuals who want to put the same type of vehicle through SVA, so in some cases money or part of the money paid out can be recuperated. Its definitely all down to how much someone is willing to pay and it can be done for just about any vehicle, the GTR is proof of that along with other imports that aren’t even for sale here! I have one of these and got a model report and passed SVA with no problems.
  8. Well I import quite a few cars from Japan and a model report can be created for just about anything; its just a matter of how much money someone wants so spend. When we first brought over the NEW GTR everyone said it wasnt going to be possible and no model report etc etc. Now there are plenty of them forsale SVA'd and on the road. As you mentioned earlier, the 98/99+ spec cars are still fetching big money in Japan.
  9. It doesnt just go by the year it goes by the month too. So for example, if you buy a January 1999 import it will no longer require SVA so it will be slightly cheaper. If for example you purchase a June 1999 car, then it will fall into the SVA catagory as it hasnt reached the 10year rule.
  10. Great info guys and thanks! It has the tweed interior which I must admit that I quite like, the tweed looks darker in color though on this one to my previous TT cars.
  11. Did they! Was this only for non turbos? or Did Nissan do away with the digital climate or possibly it became an option? The car I'm looking at also has the airbag steering wheel, was the cruise control re-located or was it done away with also?
  12. Yeah I noticed most have digital and they were earlier cars so kinda wondering did they change this down the line? I have JDM brochure and it shows a few different Z versions and some of them dont have Digital Climate, only problem is the brochure is in Japanese so I cant make out what it says lol!! Also what BHP does the non turbo have?
  13. Hi Guys, I'm looking at buying a non turbo Z, 1t's a late 1995 car and although I know quite a bit about the Z's as I've had loads of the years, I've never had a non turbo. One of the things I've noticed is this car doesnt have the digital climate but rather the manual controls like on the convertibles? Is this something that usually comes on the non turbos or what is the reason behind this?
  14. looks very very well!!!
  15. Sorry I worded that wrong. I wasnt trying to say that because the car is out of Tax and MOT now as well, that it should be broken. I'm looking at the overall repair cost and to take it to a garage it will cost upwards of £500 to £700 and possibly more.
  16. Do people still give things away in this day and age :)
  17. But still looking at deeper side if £500 +++++!! Think this is going to be a breaker. Just looking too and the car ran out of TAX and MOT Yesterday!!!
  18. Hi Andy, Yeah your right! I have the symptom. Not sure if one of the cams is seized because I dont know how to check if they move??
  19. So anyone who has been following my threads in the HELP section will know that I have found out the fault with my friends zed. The fault for those who do not know is, the timing belt was stripped at the bottom pulley. Although the belt is still intact and tight a light section of the belt was stripped causing the car to stall and not start again. You can view photos off it here: http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=73641 The big question is what do I do from here? Is it worth fixing or would I better of breaking the car? My friend has left the car in my hands to do something with and I’m not sure what to do. What could it cost to fix?? Maybe better breaking it to get the maximum money for it? The car is a December 1990 UK MANUAL Twin Turbo. Cloth interior and all pretty much standard apart from vented front nose panel (original is in the boot) cone type air filter, drilled brake discs, and Jap Spec front bumper indicators. You can view photos of the car here: http://photobucket.com/practice.php?id=37kbc
  20. I used to own a red one back in 1996. REG was H6 NSX. It is the only Japanese super car that I can say, is the best of them all. I have owned Supras, GTO/3000GT, RX7 and many Z's. But the NSX is just unreal. Today a really good 1991 will cost around £14,000 to £16,000. Very easy car to run and service and it has great presence on the road. Narrow at the front widening to the rear. I have looked into importing them but the NSX in Japan fetches more money than here, and by the time you get it to UK and pay the VAT plus import duty, have the conversion done and MOT plus reg costs, it doesn’t really work out any better.
  21. Forgot to ask? How do I move the cam pulleys??
  22. Thanks I'll check the cams out now!
  23. Hi Marty! Yeah least I know the problem now, not a good problem though.........Which cam should I try and move?? Do you think there will be major engine damage now.
